Posted: 3/7/2007 6:40:21 PM | Hey hey hey....what you talking about willis? just kidding. Yes unfortunately I too have some extra weight. I have heard you have to lose it for yourself not to impress anybody or for anybody.
Maybe just maybe you could talk to some of these woman and see if they will go walking with you...lol or maybe if they fall in love they will not need to eat so much to fill the emotional vacuum...
Just some thoughts. Still, if we don't watch it being overweight will not only keep the guys away but will shorten life span...
You feel unloved, you eat, you get fat, then you get more lonely, then you eat, then you get bitter....vicious cycle.
Well, I am doing my walking. Would be terrible to have a heart attack before finding true love...LMAO

Posted: 6/1/2007 4:37:25 AM | After reading page after page on this forum, I can't help but give my opinion anyways. Comments have been made that big women have harder times looking for love. hmmm. Well, in mylife I have struggled up and down with the weight issue. But in all that time, I never had a hard time finding men. Why? I think it is because I am a confident, intelligent woman, and that makes me attractive. I have seen and felt sorry for so many women because they have not yet realized their beauty and power. I am probably one of very few women in this world who can look in the mirror in the morning and say that I like myself, that I am pretty. It breaks my heart to see beautiful women with absolutely no self-confidence in themselves. That alone would make one less attractive to the opposite sex. Granted, being healthy is important in life and this is easier for some than others. But, all in all, self-confidence and how you carry yourself, will attract more flies than you can swat!  | |

Looks don't last forver, but you can least try to make love last forever. The girl or guy you end up with will not always be as hot as they once were.Things start to sag, gut over the belt and hair growing in places they shouldn't.

I've read that the sizing charts were a bit different back then for women's clothing. I can't swear it's true, but I've read (and it wasn't on an internet forum posting!) that a size 14 in her day was roughly equivelant to a size 8 by today's sizes.
The hygiene thing is pure hear-say. Prove it or retract it.
Note: Playboy's Jenny McCarthy was turned down by several modeling agencies before she walked into the Playboy offices... the agencies all said she was too fat and could never be a model! Then within a year she becomes Playboy's Playmate of the Year... who knew?

Air-brushing doesn't remove lard from the rear-end, jowels around the neck, nor excess flab around the tummy! Geez! The air-brushing to to smooth out the texture of the skin on model's photos posted in magazines, not to make them look fit. Most people who model for a living workout daily for hours, and you won't catch them going thru a McDonald's drive-thru.

Lemme think here.... oh yes! The that could be because the average woman in America weighs MORE than they did 20 years ago!!! Hello? You make it sound like the model's have gotten lighter or something with that statement...

So why is it then that every single one of those women's magazines I see at the checkout isle of Target and Walmart have stunningly gorgeous bikini model's on the cover? Men aren't the ones buying those mags (we subscribe, to Playboy... hehehe!), they're for women's consumption. I also notice almost every one of those same mags has something on the cover about how to lose weight and look great... this is what sells to women apparently, bikini models and promises of learning how to lose weight (and something about 20 moves in bed every woman should know... but I digress).
Now I don't know if the Houston area population of single women are any heavier than the population of single women in any other part of the country... from what I keep hearing on the news, Americans in general have a real health problem going on with obesity. I will say however that the fitter you are, the more opportunities you'll have to meet members of the opposite sex and the more confidence you'll have when you meet the opposite sex... and you're likely to live longer with fewer health problems! Is there a downside to this? If so I fail to see it. 
Quit buying clothes to make you look thinner; be thinner! Look great naked!

apparently your body has never been through a pregnancy, let alone serveral. So you just keep "thinking" you look good nakie and we promise to not giggle too loudly!
I have been 104 lbs and 204 lbs and my body after pregnancy is unchanged... sure it's smaller, in some areas, when I'm thinner, but there are parts that will just never be the same...or "look good" again, altho my natrual boobs are looking real hot right about now! 
Now let me think??? Which child would I have NOT had to save some of that flab, stretching and scars???? Just to be on the arm of a man like you?

Im just outside of Austin but knew this perfect Ken and Barbie couple.. they were so miserable and she had brown hair.. prolly to his specs! LOL
but anyway... being out with them was so uncomfortable... Mr. Ken.. hair all in place....(what he didnt have receeding that is) was sending her to the ladies room to refresh her lipstick! She was in there right away.. in tears.. with her perfect body and boobs... hopin she was applying it right... so there ya go... of course she was perfect before she walked back out again.... and men wonder why women take so long in the bathroom??? | |

Isn't it amazing how one person can make a comment and the battle lines get drawn? Now I guess we can figure out how wars can get started so easily and over what, someones opinion.(good or bad)
Since I have spent this much time making a comment on this thread, I am going to make a comment to Joe as well.
Joe, I live west of Houston but work in Houston. Yes, there are some large ladies in this town, but having travel in a few parts of the world, the same issue exists in every country I have been to. I can also tell you that there are just as many thin women in Houston, that being said, maybe if all you are seeing or attracting is women with more to love that is what you are really attracted to and won't admit it to yourself. Just a thought.
A very wise man(my dad) told me once that in this world and for every situation "There is an ass to fit every saddle". If you have not found the right saddle Joe, by all means please keep looking but don't single out one group of people(one of which might be your mother, mine is not small) and say that they are the norm for a population of over 4 million.....OKAY I am finished now.....
The only request that I would make to both the men and woman on this site is don't mis-represent yourselves. Don't say thin if your not because it will only be a let down for both sides.

I'm sure you wish for no one to believe all "men my age in HOUSTON . . ." etc., etc.? As an educator, you know you should tread lightly when using absolutes. If I have any hangups, it is the fact I have difficulty dealing with less than incisive people . . .not that you're leaning in that direction.
Also, many women, generally speaking I believe, DON'T go for the "Cougar" mentality, although I could be wrong. If you're saying you're on par dealing mentally with someone younger than you, that's okay with me.
As far as the thread is concerned, the term "over weight" means nothing. The biggest issue/concern I would address relate to health. If you're active and you eat and exercise healthy, who should be concerned about weight? If you're one who consistently addresses one's weight concerns yet does nothing to resolve it, I would be annoyed with that specific mentality, but as was stated above, that a major "mental hangup" I'd rather not address. | |

I was hanging out with a girl, as friends, that I had met on a dating site. We went shooting with my friend. My friend got close to her and taught her how to shoot a handgun. He seemed interested in her.
Later that day, at lunch, she was indicating interest in me. (no surprise) When asked by my friend what she wants in a guy, she listed off several things. He must have a good job, make at least a certain amount of money, be career oriented, and have at least a 4 year degree. I fit that, and my friend did not. She then asked what I wanted in a girl. But...before I could get a word out, my friend stepped up for me and laid it all out.
He told her that she was not what I was looking for in a woman. He told her that I wanted a perfect Barbie Doll, and prefereably rich. I laugh. He told her that brains did not matter.
SHE WAS FURIOUS! 
She called me superficial!
I never spoke to her again.
The point is that people want what they want, and their preferences are often criticized by those that they discriminate against. | |
