| Toilet Paper - which way does it hang? Posted: 8/1/2006 6:39:55 PM | I'm not sure....i probably don't care that much.
But i can tell you this. Whenever i was in a relationship, all of a sudden toilet paper became an issue. Such as "where did eight rolls go, so quick!"

See, I find that offensive. Its like saying I either am a Polly Poops Alot or I'm not being frugal enough with my squares. I need what I need.

| Toilet Paper - which way does it hang? Posted: 8/1/2006 7:17:54 PM | Justin - you're being attacked from all side
I agree though, I used to buy a 24 roll pack and it's last at least a month if not two, now with a female room-mate it's lucky to last 2 weeks!!!
... now time to hide | |

| Toilet Paper - which way does it hang? Posted: 8/1/2006 7:23:02 PM | Now i will make it clear. I've only lived with three women. Although all different in many ways. The consumption of toilet paper was'nt. Is this right? Is this wrong? I have no freakin clue. But from my experience....just an observance.....thats all it is | |
|
| Toilet Paper - which way does it hang? Posted: 8/1/2006 7:26:44 PM | | OK I will repeat myself again for those of you in a different time zone!!! We women have 2 things to wipe as well as the paper needed to use for make up oopsies and nose blowing etc..... You gotta love us still though | |

| Toilet Paper - which way does it hang? Posted: 8/1/2006 8:27:24 PM | This is hilarious.
I've had nothing but women in my life. My mother and sister. Then my ex with 2 girls. High toilet paper consumption.
I remembered when I worked in McDonalds. Had to clean the washrooms. Mens - piss all over the toilet seat. Womens - toilet paper EVERYWHERE.

| Toilet Paper - which way does it hang? Posted: 8/1/2006 8:52:22 PM | Can we at least agree that this is something that men simply have no right to comment on?
I mean c'mon...."geez, you use a lot of toilet paper" doesn't exactly make a woman feel that feminine.
I have to give credit to my dad here. He grew up in a house with 4 women and no boys. He knew to just keep quiet about certain things.
|
| Toilet Paper - which way does it hang? Posted: 8/1/2006 8:53:25 PM | @suzie: Yeah, but it was a lot easier to clean the toilet seat than have to pick up all that toilet paper.
@polly: Your dad was smart but he still probably thought "geez, they go through a lot of toilet paper." :o)

| Toilet Paper - which way does it hang? Posted: 8/1/2006 9:14:45 PM | @the guys: Given the choice between a slightly higher TP bill or not having a wonderful lady with you, which would you choose?
Men use less paper because they aim? I read a famous negotiator (whose name I can't think of) say that he had the "sit vs. stand" discussion with his wife. The resolution for him was: If there's a place to sit -- use it. It solved all sorts of problems.
And it looks like the fold vs. crumple question has been ignored too. That's fine.
What about: Seat Up vs. Seat Down?
IMHO: There's absolutely no need to leave the seat up. And I grew up in a house with 80% males and 100% agreement.

| Toilet Paper - which way does it hang? Posted: 8/2/2006 1:54:02 AM | Oh, this is fun! much better than all the serious sh.......(pun?) I put mine on rolled fom the top. Why? Darned if I know! I am a single semi-old guy who lives alone in a big house. I prefer to sit, too! It's easier to read that way! And when I have company I HATE it when people pee on the toilet seat and all! I'm of the 'weak-stomach clan' and have a thing about cleaning up someone elses pee! At least wipe it down for me! and I do like to keep my bathroom clean! And it's annoying when the 'thing' slips out of my hand - that water is cold!!!!! (chuckle.....) Seat up or down? I keep mine down always. It just looks better, and I have a nice soft cover on it. Have fun, ya'll! | |

| Toilet Paper - which way does it hang? Posted: 8/2/2006 4:50:36 AM | We don't even go through 24 rolls as fast as that, Steve, and we have 5 people in the house wiping, two of which are girls....and that does not include having company or kids coming over.
Might be time for you to by the two ply.....lol
Fold or crumble?: Fold, baby! and the seat is almost always down in my house. If it isn't, it is usually because of the youngest, but he is still a little scared that the seat will fall onto his, umm, you know.

| Toilet Paper - which way does it hang? Posted: 8/2/2006 5:00:19 AM | *laughs* ok I didn't read all three pages of this thread, but a quick scan gave me the gist of it. I'm going to stick my neck out here but meh, who cares... My biggest pet peeve is the fact that they don't put toilet paper next to men's urinals. Why? because I actually use it. Giving three shakes may be the manly thing to do, but honestly.. shaking pee around everywhere is pretty disgusting. Not getting it all, and tucking back in... even worse. Shag that, I always use paper - #1 or #2. Like I said, I'm an oddball but at least I'm not a nasty oddball. A friend of mine once asked me to teach her son how to pee in the toilet, and I passed this habit along to him. A few weeks later, she asked me if I taught him this. I said yes, and she came and gave me a big hug, and told me I was the best *laughs* yay for common sense.
I think people who get it all over the seat, and leave it there are total social retards. Even if it's just on the rim of the bowl. Seriously, if you can't hit a 2 foot radius circle... sit down for christ's sake. If sitting threatens your masculinity... wipe the damn rim after or something, really think I want to experience your leavings when I step into a stall? Do you really want to experience mine?
...and cheap toilet paper - forget it. I hate that lousy stuff they put in public bathrooms, you try to tear it off, and half the roll unfurls for some reason, but the moment it touches you.. it disintegrates. What's up with that? Who makes this junk?
anyways.... that's my 2 cents.
|
| Toilet Paper - which way does it hang? Posted: 8/2/2006 9:45:02 AM | If they put toilet paper near the urinals, what would you do with it when you were done? It doesn't go down those little holes very well - wouldn't it clog the urinal?
At my house seat is usually down but that's because girls outnumber boys, slightly. Toilet paper comes over the roll. This was answered by Shai of the disappearing act some time ago - apparently it is cheaper and you use less this way. I just find it easier to find it and use it.
And using it has got to be encouraged with small children around - holy skid marks! Looks like an 18 year old got ahold a the family car and laid some serious rubber in them undies!
Crumpling seems thicker than folding. I want more layers between me and a finger poking through...
cheers! | |

| Toilet Paper - which way does it hang? Posted: 8/2/2006 1:54:29 PM | Dijita, you are a genius. You should be passing that message on to one and all. I totally don't get why its ok for a guy to just give it a shake. Give me a break...besides that it goes everywhere. I'm sure the thing dribbles to. Why is it ok to have dribble in your clothes or on your hands or whatever. And don't tell me all guys wash those hands either...cause that's not happening all the time either. Good for you...you can come and use my washroom anytime lol
I personally, don't let the toilet paper hang. I'm allergic to putting it on the roll to begin with. I even had a paper holder that didn't have one of those tension bars...you just slide it on. Still couldn't manage that one either lol I just recently got tired of spending so much money on soft toilet paper. I started using the crappy stuff we buy for work...it lasts forever. I'll just keep the soft stuff out for guests...so now I guess I have two. One sitting on the tension rod of the paper holder and one on the counter lol
