If you can talk about anything toghter then whats so hard about saying I want to get married. He should tell you what he thinks good are bad.

One of the earlier responses said that women are really goot at dropping hints. I think I missed that class in chick school. Lets say you wanted to take a next step in your relationship, whether it be becoming exclusive, moving in together, marriage, kids.... whatever... how exactly would a woman drop hints for that? I'm really horrible at it. I just come out and say stuff. But I don't really want to say, hey, lets take that next step. I just want to put out there that I wouldnt' be against it if he asked, or for him to think about it and maybe we could discuss it. Any suggestions?

I would have no problem with it other than they initial 'shock' (or call it what you will).

Too, let her buy the ring while she is at it.... .

What is it now??? Three months salary - yes?

Seriously, if it were right it would not matter to me.

Not that it matters, but if a man was mortified by me proposing to him I would be mortified to be with him, I'm sure.

My opinion...it could be the most touching moment of my life or possibly the worst nightmare...I guess it would depend on how into this person I was and was I ready for that next ginormous step.

I guess I never thought about it but I now understand how women feel about being asked.

I have to admit, if it was right, it be the most perfect moment in my life besides my children being born....ooops I forgot about the Jays winning the World Series in '93

To be frank about this,

It is the norm of society that men propose but in the end, it is the women that make the final decision anyway. So I don't see any point of embarresment on the part of the women if she wants to propose. Like I said, men don't make the final decision regardless of who proposes.

It doesn't really matter!!!

ya, that's what I was thinking, I mean it wasn't going to be like I'm buying some ring and getting on my knee, It would be me suggesting we get married, and like I said before me professing my undying love always

I mean I know now he is the one! the one I have perpetualy looked for in everyone else! Do I really need to wait?

But then again I understand that it might set a bad start in our relationship as in "who wears the pants" hmmmm..... still thinking I guess, I really do appreicate all the opinions though from the men and women thank you

If I haven't gotten my stuff together and proposed by the time I should, by all means, I wouldn't mind if the woman proposed. Hopefully it would be obvious that we were moving in that direction that I would pop the question before her, but who knows? Sometimes guys are dense.

I think if a woman got down on her knee in a restaurant and asked me to marry her.....................................I would probably freak and I would also think she was bi, if ya know what I mean. That is way too much for me. Now, if a woman really wanted to do it, I would suggest that she drop hints in a big way. An example might be: Hey, if we were married, it would only cost half as much to live or we wouldn't need both the houses or we could rent out the other house and yada yada. For me..............money talks LOL

Sure, two plus two equals four
Black is the opposite of White.........
Water and oil don't mix
Cats and dogs are usually enemies, unless they are raised together.
If your hands get dirty, wash them etc etc etc...........

Women proposing? Wrong
