| What's the latest nice thing you did for someone? Posted: 8/10/2009 1:11:24 PM | At a friend's place I left the room to fart the other day. Usually I take great satisfaction in using my intestinal gas to make a room about as hospitable as Chernobyl; but just this once I had a brief moment of human decency and refrained myself from subjecting my friends to a noxious fume incapable of sustaining human life. | |

No matter how predictably defensive and attacking their responses were. Only human? Not a fair excuse or reason for repeated and contrived lies and misrepresentations.

The beaming smile and "thank you" were so worth it.

| What's the latest nice thing you did for someone? Posted: 8/12/2009 8:03:33 PM | I don't like to talk about my good deeds at length. I do not do kind things to tell everyone about but because they matter. However, to be honest, I have been slipping and I have missed some opportunities.
BTW - if you are motivated by others praise for good deeds, keep doing them. It is the act that matters not the motivation.
However, when it comes to good deeds, I keep quiet --- personal preference.
This is a funny good deed, actually obligation. There is a steep hill that goes down Alma Street from 16th Avenue to 4th Avenue. It is wicked, narrow and winding. There are also two lanes of traffic. This cyclist goes down the hill, wearing no helmet and using no hands. I drove past him and we met up again when we both had to stop at a light on 10th avenue.
My power window went down and I was ready to say that I was ready to call 9-1-1 for you. Phoning 9-1-1 would be the good deed, actually obligation. I stopped myself from saying this because I was afraid he would become defensive and we would argue.
He shot through the light and started riding down the middle of the road and I regretted not saying anything.

| What's the latest nice thing you did for someone? Posted: 8/26/2009 10:20:34 PM | Yesterday I interrupted my apres-dinner bike ride to stop and ring the door bell of a house along the route to tell the occupants the lights of the vehicle parked outside had been left on.
They were very grateful.

| What's the latest nice thing you did for someone? Posted: 8/27/2009 3:08:37 AM | | I found an old half used pool punch card for a local pool that is about half an hours bus ride from my house (a new pool which i am a member of opened up 5 minutes away from my house on foot) in my walet and so i took it to the pool and told the attendant i didnt need it anymore and that he should let the next 5 people through using my punches rather than making them pay the admission. | |

| What's the latest nice thing you did for someone? Posted: 8/27/2009 7:29:11 PM | I gave someone a massage today as a gift of appreciation. This is the week of my birthday, a time when I take inventory of my life, appreciate all the goodness that surrounds me and give gifts to those who I am close to or been kind to me in some way. Yes, instead of receiving gifts I give them, on my birthday. I love it! I also exfoliate activities, things and people who just take time and space. Makes life simpler>orderly>harmonious>beautiful>joyous. MN | |

| What's the latest nice thing you did for someone? Posted: 8/29/2009 6:34:15 AM | | I didn't shove a Albertan thru the snow shed on the Coquihalla last night because they didn't understand what the "fast lane" was for. Funny, even at 2 a.m. I could see the whites of their eyes when I finally got to pass them. Bet ya that driver is starting to understand that the word "mountain" involves going "up and down". | |
