| Weird Food Combinations Posted: 1/27/2007 2:55:08 PM | weve got one guy at work who puts brown sauce on everything, even curries
personally my all time favourite is: Bacon and Marmalade Toasted sandwich
2 slices of bread lightly toasted good quality slightly salty back bacon (Canadian bacon for those in the US, hate that streaky stuff) good quality orange marmalade (not the cheap real sugary stuff)

| Weird Food Combinations Posted: 1/27/2007 2:57:51 PM | ^^ I am not sure if you can get it over here but in the UK you can get this chunky ginger marmalade which is a nice alternative to the orange one.
edit: I see you are in the UK..so you can find it there I know.

Often, I’ll start out the day with a large bowl of oatmeal. However, I also add a lot of oat and wheat bran in it. Also, figs, dates, raisins and a little cinnamon. Then, I let it all soak in apple cider a while before cooking.
Yeah, there have been friends who looked at me like a might be a little strange making that concoction. But, after they tasted it, they were hooked. Also, it’s kind of hard to get a more healthy breakfast than that.
Question: Americans don't use regular White Vinegar on your fries, do you? I have a hard time finding vinegar for my fries when in the states.
White vinegar? Yuk! Many of the folks I know use either malt or apple cider vinegar -- whatever is handy at the moment. I keep both at home and use them on many foods. If I must eat French fries, I want them with malt or apple cider vinegar, and then dip them in mayo. (Have no idea where I got that from.)
I always thought white vinegar was for cleaning the coffee pot. LOL

| Weird Food Combinations Posted: 1/28/2007 11:58:40 AM | | What? No white vinegar in the States? I'm not a big fan of the stuff but my teen son would go batty. Hmm the one time he was down in Florida I wonder if he would have had the malt or ac stuff... I'll have to ask. I went down south like 15 years ago and I remember the few restaurants I went to didn't put cheddar on their burgers but rather just mozza or swiss and I was surprised over that. | |

| Weird Food Combinations Posted: 1/28/2007 12:32:01 PM | cottage cheese, chopped tomatoes, salt, and pepper (i could eat it till i die, love it to death)
hot sauce on scrambled eggs
And speaking of cheese, i generally buy extra sharp cheddar, then leave it in my fridge for 6 months, waiting for it to lightly mold, then i take it out, when it has about a 3 mm thick mold on it, cut ALL the mold off it, till you get to the cheese on the inside, wash that, and you have cheese that is even sharper. For anyone who doesnt know, the only differences in sharp cheeses is that in the processing companies, to make extra sharp cheddar, they make all the cheese the same, and then just let some of it age more than others, so actually you go and buy cheddar and extra sharp cheddar and you are buying the same thing, except they didn't put the extra sharp out right after they made the cheese, they let it mold, then cut all the mold off, and cleaned it up, which is easy, and cut it up and packaged it and shipped it to the store.
