| Dallas Area POFers Posted: 5/3/2006 8:38:40 PM | So is the private party now public???
Whiterock has some really nice party sites and Joe Pool lake has some incredible camp grounds and only 45'ish minutes outside of Dallas.
Just my two cents. | |
| Dallas Area POFers Posted: 5/3/2006 8:40:32 PM | | BTW - thanks to all you regulars for welcoming this newbie and letting me hang with you. I had a blast at the party. | |
| Dallas Area POFers Posted: 5/3/2006 8:45:32 PM | bomonkey...you are quite welcome. I enjoyed our swim and conversations before, during and after the party. Tried to email you but, I am not the right sex....... | |
| Dallas Area POFers Posted: 5/3/2006 8:49:00 PM | | well i reckon it's gone public. the more the marrier. we POFer's alway's find a way to have a great time. | |
| Dallas Area POFers Posted: 5/3/2006 8:56:54 PM | Not really gone public. I think if we added a sign up link that would be going public. This is just a general discussion...way to get others input.
Now this is going public....Spencer you are the best friend a girl could ever have. I love you buddy!!!!!
| Dallas Area POFers Posted: 5/3/2006 9:00:25 PM | | your on my buddy list, sweat thang. love you too. | |
| Dallas Area POFers Posted: 5/3/2006 9:16:43 PM | Cooper lake allows alcohol guys....and they have camp sites that are *literally* right on the lake! Problem is, it's about an hour from Dallas going east....out by Commerce. The camp sites are pretty big too....almost a quarter-acre each. And last I checked a campsite ran for $10 a nite....pretty cheap!! They also have cabins there....but not sure how much those are.
And boomonkey....it was great seeing you at the party! I tried to call you on sunday but got a "number disconnected" message again....could you email me your number so I can make sure I didn't screw it up somehow?
If we can make this happen, I'll try to drag my brother's sorry ass to this shinding too. I'm thinkin some fishin, some bbq'in, some drinkin....just basically 2 1/2 days of maxin, relaxin, and debauchery......who's with me?
| |
| Dallas Area POFers Posted: 5/3/2006 10:07:15 PM | | lots of great minds workin together on this. thats great. spence you wanna take charge? or do we want tabby and scott takin charge? finding the place and setting every little detail up | |
| Dallas Area POFers Posted: 5/3/2006 10:21:01 PM | | Spidey!!!!! think "West" young man. we're trying to keep it between Dallas and Ft. Worth. | |
| Dallas Area POFers Posted: 5/3/2006 10:25:59 PM | | well Lynn, why don't you and i do this together.?! i've already got a few spots in mind. | |
| Dallas Area POFers Posted: 5/4/2006 6:19:22 AM | Well then, can we look into the possability of Lake Lewisville? Granted, it's a fairly good drive for most POF'ers but it's a damn sight better than Commerce!
Also, I'm really, really *hot* to see Mission Impossible III. And The Da Vinci Code. I was thinkin we could have a Fish movie gtg to see this flick. Anybody with me?
| Dallas Area POFers Posted: 5/4/2006 7:58:47 AM | Hello everyone. Had a BLAST Saturday night. It was great seeing those of you I already knew and meeting the ones I didn't. We POF'ers know how to throw some serious back don't we!
Memorial day weekend sounds fun. My Birthday is the 26th and I would love to hang out and party! I am like Liza, I do not know Texas lakes at all, so if you guys tell me when and where I will be there. Now Liza, we will have to bring Fred!
| Dallas Area POFers Posted: 5/4/2006 8:24:29 AM | I am thinking Fred needs to go back to his rightful owner (my daughter), but have no fear I am going to purchase/make one or two of my own...we just have to come up with names. How does a four person funnel sound?
BTW-Party pics are up http://forums.plentyoffish.com/datingPosts4099050.aspx
WooHoo!!!! | |
| Dallas Area POFers Posted: 5/4/2006 9:42:14 AM | Four person funnel? OH YEAH!!!! You are my hero!! We should all be feeling good after that!!! | |
| Dallas Area POFers Posted: 5/4/2006 11:31:37 AM | WOW, did some one mention a foursome. sounds good to me.!!
check out this site for some camp ground ideas.
http://corpslakes.usace.army.mil/visitors/states.cfm?state=TX
Benbrook Lake does have the group camping areas. but it's a far drive for you Dallas POFer's.
you could call your 4 way beer bong, "Ford". LOL
| Dallas Area POFers Posted: 5/4/2006 2:16:20 PM | Everybody knows that the only way you're getting 4 people into a Ford is if they're pushing it!
A 4-way funnell sounds like a blast!! Get an extra-big funnel for it Opti....the kind you can pour a 6-pack into! Hell if I go on this weekend shin-ding, the only time I plan to be sober is first thing in the morning!
As for the long drive....nobody said we couldn't carpool, guys! If nobody has a sufficiently large SUV or van that everybody can ride in, we can always rent one for pretty cheap....last I checked you can get a van that seats 8 from Enterprise for 3 days for something like $50. That would come out to $6.25 each....and if everybody throws in $10 for gas, we should be good to go! Or we could seat 6 ppl in the damn thing and use the rest of the room for important stuff.......like sleeping bags, tents, folding chairs, and beer, beer, MORE beer and..oh! Did I mention Purple Passion?
If there's any interest.....let me know. I can get specs for something like this easily enough.
| Dallas Area POFers Posted: 5/4/2006 2:53:49 PM | Spidey mentioned Lake Lewisville. If I were in charge of picking, that is where I would put it. Lake Lewisville is world famous for it's Party Cove happenings. Which is actually in swimming distance from a park in Lake Dallas. And NO, I can't describe what an afternoon at Party Cove is like, there are no words.
I didn't check the link about campgrounds because it had army corps of engineers in it. I am pretty sure alcohol is banned in ALL corps parks. Research that carefully.
I would put my boat on Joe Pool. Benbrook is an unknown to me, haven't had any friends who have boated it to give me the skinny.

| Dallas Area POFers Posted: 5/4/2006 3:30:52 PM | ok spence, the lake party sounds like a good idea. Will not be able to make it in May however, no weekends off until mid june. Yeah that sucks, but I know you will be there with freaking bells on ready for Fred. If we can do it in Mid june, count me in, I'll have to miss the POF party in May, due to being out of state. I ahd a blast at the party the other night, all of you guys are great people, can't wait to do it again. I like Joe Pool Lake but it is a state park and may not allow partying??? Keep us posted, and thanks Opti for the pics. Lonestarfish, Spence mentione dyou might can crop my party pic and fix it for my profile? You can email me at beverlyfstr@yahoo.com. Party on Garth, Rock and Roll. Peace out and all that jazzzzzzz. | |
| Dallas Area POFers Posted: 5/4/2006 3:34:59 PM | Lewisville sounds like a good place to be, although it may be too far for us southerners, yall just take a vote on where we can do this. | |
