| how would you react to crude and offensive emails? Posted: 3/23/2007 5:43:20 PM | Took me a while to discover the "block" button..............computers arent my thing!! Was getting emails from a particular man whom i had never spoken to. They became very nasty.........calling me names that even made me blush(and i can let rip with the best of them!).Finally figured out you can block people and now peace has returned. You know who you are!!!!Could not give a monkeys mate. You just confirmed my first impression that you are a nutter!! I sometimes wonder if the people who behave badly on this site also do it in real life | |

| how would you react to crude and offensive emails? Posted: 3/23/2007 10:29:56 PM | /\/\/\ I'd say not...because probably nobody talks to them in real life.
On RSVP, a guy (who I'd never met), accused me of being unable to commit because I dared to politely suggest that it was a little over the top to wake up at 8am on a Saturday morning to see 7 emails from him (containing love poems), 5 SMS from him (the last 2 demanding to know why I hadn't responded) and 3 voice messages from him. After the 'unable to commit' comment (this comment, to me, from a guy who'd never had a long term relationship in his life) I told him to stop contacting me, and then came the abuse. When I blocked him he set up another profile and contacted me again to ask for a second chance. Bizarre people.

I'd say the beard is going to be a mighty fine deterrant cos most will scroll right on past (assuming I ever get to the point of making my profile visible to searches again)

| how would you react to crude and offensive emails? Posted: 3/25/2007 8:51:37 PM | It saddens me when i read of people being harassed by others that cant take no for an answer. Its just life. I have had a few rejections *sob sob* I have also had some pleasant replies. But when i hear that there is no chance. I leave it be. Then move onto the next fish in the sea. | |

Posted: 3/25/2007 10:02:24 PM | ^^^^Exactamundo ol mate move on.....I must add to the offensive emails and crude bit though seems some like to vent their fustrations by sending you the standard hate mail when you post something here which is not to their liking instead of putting it on the public thread not that i mind because im not about to slit my wrists with an electric razor yet over it

Posted: 3/26/2007 7:27:38 AM | i prefer to think the written word hasnt that much power.. block is an easy function to use.. only one guy keeps sending me offensive messages, to this and other sites im on. . and from what i understand sends them to a few.. so meh whatever.. dont let it bother me.. if i get messages like "wanna phuck" i reply with something like.. sure see on the corner in five.. or ur only human..
why get upset..
if thats all u have to worry about in life .. ur doing ok lol

| how would you react to crude and offensive emails? Posted: 3/26/2007 5:27:37 PM | Op, most guys would love it!
But I do understand where you are coming from!
Unfortunately, some guys have found that that sort of stuff works.
It's a number game! Some women actually respond in a favorable way.
But, it doesn't make it right!

This one arrived, fresh and offensive this morning, along with a virtual bunch of flowers. Now I don't know if he thought the flowers would charm me, or his words would drive me to desperation, but I can assure you neither worked...
You are a very pretty young lady, but you have a chip on your shoulder, and dont smile, im a small man but you wont get any one who will care to know you, but will seek every which way to bed you, thats why you will never be happy because you dont care. A real waste and pitty for such a pretty young lady.
My chip and I are going to work now. Might not be a man, but it's a better conversationalist than the one that wrote that email.

I'm glad to hear that not all women get crude emails, if everyone was getting them I then I would think POF should have some sort of review moderators set up. Hard on a free site but I'm sure there are a few level headed people out there that could do it. Maybe someone who has found a partner but still like to hang out in the forums?
