| Please post your favorite generalization... Posted: 5/23/2006 4:47:54 AM | 1. That overweight people are just fat and lazy. 2. That people who read and/or are smart are nerds. 3. That people who work in call centres are useless humans. Oh, and yes sir, I did hear you call me a biatch and put me down while you were on "hold". What you don't know is I'm nucking futs and WILL make your life hell for the next few minutes.
And I also have your phone number, address, and email address. Yep, very smart to put me down. (And puhleeze do not think I would use any of that information, haven't yet. But if I was really nuts, I might.)
But I'm not, honestly. | |

| Please post your favorite generalization... Posted: 5/23/2006 7:40:42 AM | Oh...rip into it? Well, alright then.
*reminds you that you asked*
No, I really hate it when I'm called fat or lazy. I'm neither. I actually can't do one thing at a time, I have to be doing at least two. Preferrably three. For example, when I'm online, I normally am writing an email, listening to my music, writing a post, and have a convo or two going at the same time. I'll be at work and I'll be chatting with my neighbor, writing an email, and fixing up a customer's account.
And as for "fat"...WELL...
I was brought up on poor eating habits as a child. And food was always a reward. And it was punishment. Because I was called down to the lowest for being chubby, but how did mommy and daddy dearest fix me when I was sad? You got it, food. But then I was made to feel bad about it...so eventually I'd eat more to make myself feel better...and so on and so forth. Foods were "good" and "bad" in my house.
I have actually broken the cycle, but it took many, many years. And I still go back to that every so often. Will go to the store and just literally buy out all of the chocolate. Sometimes I'll eat it, other times I'll just let it sit there.
And it's very difficult for me to eat things that I don't like or don't know...so that is the key in it all. And I mean, I suppose I shouldn't have said I have "broken the cycle". More like I'm aware of it and trying to change it. But it's not easy. For over half my life, that was what I did as a coping mechanism. Then I turned to pills...oh, let's not go there today. And the biatch is that sometimes I forget where the real problems are and think that just because I'm losing weight, I'm "cured". Not true. I still struggle with eating issues.
And it can be a biatch trying to find time to exercise. I'm going through a lot and working a lot...so it doesn't leave a whole lot of time for the physical part of it.
But please...it's not being "fat"...at all.

| Please post your favorite generalization... Posted: 5/23/2006 8:12:39 PM | The generalization I often seen in these Forums is that "Once a Cheater always a Cheater".
I have 6 friends ( do not know each other ) who cheated on their spouses, got divorces, married the one who they cheated with and live happily after. Among them, up to this day, those second marriages have been from 6 to 15 years. Only in one case involved young children, but it worked out fine.
None of them cheat on their new spouses. The generalization I disagree most is that, "if he cheat on his wife, he will cheat on you too." My experience tell me it is not always in that logic.
I am just answering OP's thread and have no intention to start a discussion on Cheating. What I am telling here is what I have witness without my own comment.

| Please post your favorite generalization... Posted: 12/20/2008 3:07:38 AM | 'A tall, muscular man can protect me'
Against what? Not seen so many sabre tooth tigers around. Let's face it, being tall and muscular is as relevant to survival in today's world as a fish wearing oxygen tanks. You might get mugged? Possibly, and most likely by someone with a gun or a knife, that tall, muscular man is far more resistant to bullets.
|
| Please post your favorite generalization... Posted: 12/20/2008 4:37:25 AM | as someone else posted earlier... ONLY MEN get screwed in a divorce or marriage and therefore, all FUTURE women only want them for their money. (Oh puke... we all have scars)
But why is it that "Men Score" but "Women Whore"? Talk about woman bashing.

'A tall, muscular man can protect me'
Against what?
Not protect from life threatening thing. More likely against drunk guy rejected 10 time from same woman. Tall muscular guy would be more intimidate to harassing person than short fat bald guy.

| Please post your favorite generalization... Posted: 12/20/2008 8:03:53 AM | Most annoying/bothers me: Illegal immigrants are hard workers who do jobs Americans wouldn't (EVERY bit a lie, criminal scum who come to freeload ). Whites are the most racist and other groups deserve preferential treatment in any area, in the US today (blacks are most racist and the discrimination is mostly against "white Christians" ). | |

Not protect from life threatening thing. More likely against drunk guy rejected 10 time from same woman. I can't argue with that. Though it means that all those petite women (who would match with me) have a reason for going after big men. Sigh, might as well give up now.

it’s their loss”. How can it be their loss if they didn’t want it to begin with?
Yup, that a good one which is repeated offen here, just think ,of a used carsalesman when saying to a customer if they don't buy this certain car it's your loss. ok....
One of my favorities is "I'm waiting for Mr. Right". And if they are into the fora or not
the majority of their replies are well, if you get my drift, as in negitive and self
defeating . Hummmm....

| Please post your favorite generalization... Posted: 12/23/2008 12:30:43 PM | I like the two:
"Only an arrogant man would approach a pretty woman" (made by a male 46, who was lacking in his own self esteem...)
"EVERY guy thinks about sex ALL the time" (made by a male 24 years old...)
There's others, but those two are my personal favorites...

"Southern folks are uneducated, racist morons."
I get these a lot. There's no law because of where you were raised or what you look like that your world view is narrow, you can't count past ten, or that you are easy.

| Please post your favorite generalization... Posted: 12/24/2008 11:43:39 AM | Black people are: -stupid (every race has stupid people. Some stupid people just hid it better than others by being nice). -racist (I'm not going to go over this. Anyone can be racist. It takes all kinds to be ignorant) -ghetto (I've met white people in the ghetto. I live in the suburbs. I know, scary!!!) -mean (all because Sheila wouldn't let you touch her 'fro, that doesn't mean black people are "omg meeeeaaaannnn". Not everyone is a ray of sunshine, and let me tell you how many people I've met that have just went off on me for no reason whilist working retail [I'm always polite]). -smelly (DO NOT EVEN START. I GO TO ANIME CONVENTIONS THAT ARE FULL OF MANY COLORS OF SMELLY.)
Yeah, it's lovely that I defeat all of those generalizations by existing.
Relationship wise: -"Someone will show up when you least expect it!" (Suuurrrrreeee. You keep believing that, Tinkerbell.) -"God will bring you a man" (That involves you going out and doing stuff. You can't just be a hermit and expect him to show up. People forget that.) -"Men are jerks". (I have met these men. But I've also met total sweeties. Does. Not. Compute.) -"I hate feminists!" (So...you hate every women with a job who would like equal pay? Just by existing, they are feminists! Scarily enough, you are probably a feminist too. Look it up sometime, and don't let your crazy aunt define it for ya.) -"Girls only want ***holes!" (I dated an ***hole. Let me tell you, we only got along because I can be a big jerk right back to someone. Most women don't want an ***hole, and the people who usually say this are frequent members of the Friend Zone. If someone wants to be just your friend, that means they don't want to sleep with you, sorry.) -"Guys only want stupid girls!" (Are you at the bar, and you see a dude with a popped collar and a gold chain? He's hot, yeah, but most likely, he is looking for a hot chick to bone and doesn't care if she even graduated HS. He dresses like an ass already, do you want that to start off with? No. If you do and you consider yourself "smart", you should rethink that.)

All men cheat.
I have heard this over and over again, and it is offensive. I never cheated in my life, so the poster cannot say, "All" men cheat. Some men cheat, but not all.

| Please post your favorite generalization... Posted: 12/24/2008 7:46:32 PM | It's all good. ( no it isn't)
short guys have a syndrome (actually this is true but it is your fvcking fault)
Fat people are jolly ( well? aren't they? They're getting enough to eat)
The Jews killed Santa (this is PC dynamite!)
Ugly girls should be easy and grateful ( more PC dynamite)
If they are pretty they are shallow (but we don't care!)
And the list is endless. (the above isn't how it sounds)
