Posted: 5/5/2006 6:34:07 PM | dude thas abnormal lol............i once see my dad nakid and that was terrifying enough .... i could have coped if it was just nakid but he wasnt just nakid oh no HE WAS NAKID AND RUNNING wich means i got to see all that mother fuckers bits wobbaling about!... it happend so fast but yet so slow......everything just went in slow motion and i see everything  ................but anyways 3 years have now past and im still sleepin with the light on and having intense councaling sessions...but it does get a lil easier each day!  | |

Even while he was in the hospital with a head injury at age 8 he was upset that the nurses may see something he kept private. I am just not a naked person. Several Christmas' ago, I spend the night with my best friend, a female, who is a true exhibistionist. I looked over to where she was, and she was basically naked, I laughed for a long time and then politely told her to keep the twins to herself...I felt naked and it wasn't me without cloths on. While my son was maturing, there were always 5-10 extra teenage boys at my house, and I never felt it was even appropriate to wander around in my jammies. But, to each their own, it isn't something I'd do and quite frankly, the men in my life had better stay dressed and keep the bathroom door closed when in there....I am not interested in their bathroom habits. (The rule at my house: there is a door for a reason, if it's shut, don't even bother knocking because you won't be let in!!)  | |

Doesn't even faze them, after all they've been walking in on me since they were toddlers in the bathroom, while I'm in the tub or shower etc. I do always make sure I'm dressed when they have friends over. Its just a body .
I do have to say it shocked the last guy I was living with though. We were sitting in my bedroom, I was naked and he was dressed and the kids just come in and sit with us. He didn't know how to react to that one at first, but he got used to my kids not reacting to it.
If my kids weren't girls I probably wouldn't be as free/open about it and any guys I've had in my life don't hang around naked either. | |

I think at one point or another I've seen just about ever member of my family nude. Growing up it was nothing for my dad to be in the shower and my mom on the john or brushing her teeth I mean come on we were kids who cares.
Even today she leaves the door open sometimes, that's just her. I walk around naked in front of my friends all the time and they could care less, they do the same ( funny cuz now I wouldn't walk around naked in front of my mom....lol...ironic huh) but if I had kids and they saw me naked big deal. They are gonna learn that it was that body that carried them for nine months and breast fed em when they were hungry....no stork brought you to me.....I had to push your big head outta me....lol
Ok anyways....I think it's all in the way you're raised. If you're raised to hide your body and be ashamed of your nakedness then that can either a) make you grow up the same way your parents did by hiding yourself or b) become a total opposite and not care if someone sees you in the nude.
As for the sex part, I've walked in on my parents before....they didn't freak out and I didn't freak out and I haven't needed any kind of therapy yet.......I guess time will tell on that one eh.....lol.
We all know they are doing it....how else would we all be here and what's the big deal anyways?
My parents are separated and I'm always telling my mom she needs to get laid (after all my dad is, he has a girlfriend).....lol granted I'm on the phone when I say it or I'd have to duck and run from flying china.... | |

Posted: 5/13/2006 6:12:19 PM | While growing up I lived in a very restrictive, ashamed of EVERYTHING home. I got in huge trouble when I was 4 for walking out of the bathroom in just my panties. It has taken years to overcome that (the whole way I wasd raised, not just that incident).
The way it goes in my house, until the kids are about 4ish they are in the bathroom with me whenever they want to be. After that, they have to knock. If I am dressing they have to wait. If I am on the potty peeing then they can come in and talk to me and almost always do. In fact, most of the time I leave the door open. I respect their privacy and they respect mine. However, if someone does walk in on someone else there is no freaking out, just a gentle reminder that we should knock first on closed doors. On the rare occasion my husband is at home he lives in boxers. My sons (ages 8, 6, and 4) spend a lot of time in just their underwear also. So, I suppose we are fairly relaxed but not nudists by any stretch of the imagination. | |

I rarely saw my parents nude beyond a young age, I certainly don't want to see them nude today. They're in their late 70's.
Actually in the last few years I have occassionally briefly seen my mom nude or partially nude while changing or using the bathroom due to medical problems and it doesn't freak me out to much... more so that she's an old person as opposed to the fact she's my mum. lol
I certainly wouldn't freak out if my mom saw me nude today unless I was doing something sexual at the moment or had an erection, that would be uncomfortable... lol
I find the above comment, that simple non-sexual parental nudity in a household setting would raise a red flag that sexual abuse might be taking place rather disturbing conclusion to jump to!? 
It's that kind of thinking that makes me glad not to have cops for nieghbors... I'm not much interested in dating those in law enforcement related professions either. | |

I have two young sons aged 3 and 6. My 3 year old I'm comfortable with seeing me naked but my 6 year old not anymore. He has to knock before entering. He did ask me the other day why it was such a "big" deal, since he's seen me naked before. And honestly he's never stared or asked anything..it was just totally natural. So I thought about it, and I think more than anything, the reason for the "naked" issue to be an issue, is what society thinks...and what people may assume if he were to say.."i saw my mummy naked!!".
Now it's different, b/c I have no idea how I'd be if I had girls..then it wouldn't be an issue.. | |

walking by her room (door wide open), shes changing... lol. i dont see a real BIG problem with it until she starts developing, thats where i draw the line.and thats etting closer day by day.
she has seen my X naked. she used to walk onto the balcony naked, for the whole country to see.. lmao. | |

He grumbles about having to wear his tighty-whiteys, so I think it's time to get him some boxers! Younger son has always been a "dressed" person.
As for me, if the guys happen to see me nekkid, I'm not gonna spaz over it, it's just my body fer cry-eye -- if I demonize it, that'll set them up to think of the human body as something verboten. Back in the day, I recall dating guys who were totally tarded about breasts. It just slays me how guys get braindead over boobies but not kneecaps; they's all just parts man! I have always been something of a naturalist myself, and have always talked to the guys about how bodies are just bodies, regardless of shape or what parts they have: you have to be respectful, and sure there are gonna be people-parts that give you that "happy feeling" a lil more, but no need to get all hinky about it.
But now that my older boy is "becoming a man" -- well, sorta, long road yet -- I do make more of an effort to be sure I am clothed around him (and by trickle-down, the younger son too). I think it can be confusing for a kid coming into his sexuality to see/recognize/identify on a personal level his Mom (especially) as a sexual entity -- because even though Moms are of course sexual entities, that's not the direction those thoughts should be going, not the associations he should be making, in order to function well as an adult. I don't think it's quite so intense an issue for same-sex parental nudity, since there's a level of gender-identification going on; the dynamic has a different "flavor."
As he develops his sexuality, he's concurrently gotta be developing his autonomy and moving away from both parents -- there's Darwinian reasons for this, along with all the social taboos: For him to become engaged in the consideration of a parental figure in personally sexual terms (versus the more mature dispassionate recognition of all people, one's own parents included, as sexual entities) just opens a nasty can of worms.
