A rule of thumb is take your age, divide it by 2, add 7 and that gives you the lower end of your spectrum. Works for both sexes
I like that math, but.....if I divide my age by 2 and add 7, that would put the lower end of my range at the same age as my youngest daughter!

I prefer to put the lower end of my range at 45 and over, feels a little more appropriate.
As I have said before on other threads..... age is but a number, attitude is what counts.

Do they only date younger men "exclusively" or is it simply that they dated a guy who was younger, even just a year or two younger, sometime in the last 12 months or ever? What is the age range of the women asked? I have no clue what this is really saying. As they say, there's lies, damn lies, and then statistics. 
Another way of looking at it is that twice as many women are dating older men than ones dating younger men.

They don't as often expect me to fulfill the traditional female role (cooking for them, cleaning for them), there are more who don't have pot bellies and bald heads and they're not as controlling as I have found older men to be. All generalizations, of course. I don't dismiss older guys out of hand, but they're not my preference. | |

Well I'm 50 and I think at this moment in time that the women look their best between 53 and 59. Most of the women of this age group I suppose like younger men around my age. But.............lets face it who cares about a few years when your over 50 as long as you've got all your hair, teeth and body bits and that the old block and tackle is in perfect working order 
Oh and that like me you're reasonably good looking of course

Seriously, I have had been with women older. Both 17 yrs older,coincidentally. THEY are the ones who have been freaked out by it. In the last case a couple years ago, it was such a big issue for her that she wore me out with it. I mean if she can't get her head around this thing working...
Except now I think about it, her eldest was 3 yrs. younger...
When anyone in her family asked MY age, I STUCK with "39". It drove them wild.
The woman and I had things in common, and things to work out with each other. Now we talk, and are friends. Hope this pattern continues. | |

Again the same principle. Honesty is seldom heard. We do what we want. Seeking out younger partners for the sheer sexual pleasure. Little else. Who's going to be honest enough to say that?
Oh, the lies we tell to cover up our selfishness. Of course younger partners are better in bed. When lives are based strictly on seeking sexual gratification quite naturally we want younger partners. | |

Posted: 2/25/2007 1:11:30 PM | Hmmm! I was in a long term relationship with a man my age...and I must say our libidos did not match up. Mine has accelerated as I have grown older! I am really into the physical as well as the emotional...much more so than ever.
So..back into the world of dating. Big world out there! Seems men my age group are disinterested, and cite much younger ages as their interest. Then I started being approached by younger...some way younger. At first I was ambivalent...then decided why not? Flattered!
The guys I have dated who were younger were eager, curious, very active and interested in alot of different things, music, foods, etc. Fun. And very sensual and sexual. 
BUT...on the other hand...I still feel "age" is your spirit within. I have met men much younger who were old fogeys and stick-in-the-muds. Men older who were wild and free spirits.
Age is just a number.
Well..uhhh...that is, as long as I can still leap upon the back of a horse, rollerblade around the island, jump into the boat with a tent and set up camp, make love on the beach, or wherever, countless times in one day, dance til closing to a favorite live band, I would hope to be with a partner who could do some of the same! Heheh!

I guess that's why I'm looking for friends here and if it went, possibly, into the 'dating' world... it would be without us even labeling it as "date", it would just be an unplanned progression! So, for a friend... I don't care about age at all! For it to progress... well, if it DID go into more and more time together, it would be because we got along happily and so what about age. Sharing "happy" with someone is great. I guess I am in the one third of older women who would date a younger man AND I am in the two thirds who would date a same or older man! And I'm in the whatever percent who woudn't look at 'dating' as having an expected "marry me" result anyway, sorry, (although why am I sorry?).

Always had this fear of someone mistaking me for his mother LOL. Also despite him being somewhat of an "old sole" he still had a great deal of immaturity so I broke it off. Guess that experience has made me gunshy of dating much younger guys. | |

he was 36.
