Why do profiles claim that "it's what inside that counts" or list characteristics (intelligence, sense of humor, honesty, etc) that they say are the most important thing, but when they see your picture they reject you due to shape? | |

Posted: 6/6/2008 6:02:37 PM | Ok, after reading all these responese, and the original question, I have to agree with the guys... there are few reason to be over weight. and yes iam a big women and pretty hot to boot. but I know why iam over wight 1st its because I had a baby 17 months ago and had a c-section so iam still trying to get back into shape with that. I also dont move around like I should.. But iam working on it. and the one post was right the whoa is me is how you will get treated. you have to take responsibilty for yourself... dont ask guys to like you. and with you asking the question you asked. you need to really take a look at what you need to be happy?..... get out, move around, and see how much better life is!!!!! ... and if you truely are big boned then guys will see that and you will find that special one...
P.S. I know that when Iam looking for a guy a overwight guy is a turn off so I can uderstand these guys views!! would you want to date someone with more rolls the the dough boy ? I wouldnt ! | |

Posted: 6/18/2008 8:30:55 AM | I haven't read the entire thread, but being fat (I prefer to call myself fat and not use the BBW thing...), the ONLY reason I point it out in my profile at all (because, come on...it's going to be obvious when we eventually meet anyway) is because some men do have an issue with it and won't even consider talking to a fat woman. I'm not going to waste my time on a guy that has issues regarding body size. You don't think I'm attractive or sexy because I'm fat?....ok, your loss...next!
My weight is a non-issue to me. Some women want a boob job, some women want a face lift, some women wish they could gain weight....everyone has flaws. Mine happens to be that I'm overweight. Am I satisfied to stay that way? Yes....but I am trying to lose weight. I want to be healthy like everyone else. But I'm not trying to lose weight to 'get a man' or because I hate myself for being fat. Going to the gym and eating healthy make me feel good. It's not always about the opposite sex. ;-)
There are men out there who really do not have an issue with you being fat. Sure, if you were thinner, the visual may be better for them (men being visual by nature)...but self-confidence, personality and intelligence go a long way. If you do the best with what you have...even a big woman can be beautiful. :-)
You men that are so down on fat women are missing out. You've cut out a growing (pun intended) percentage of the population. All those fascinating, loving, intelligent, sexy women....you're just passing them by. Some lucky men, who have depth and passion, are going to grab up all us good ones ;-) | |

I know what you mean. I myself am not into BBW lovers because it does seem like a fetish or something. I never thought of using that word, but what I have found, having gone to a BBW party or two back in NY is that there are 2 kinds of guys that go to those.
Some might suspect that I'm going to say guys that like easy women, but that's not it.
1. There are black men - they seem to have a thing for big women. It's something in their culture. Black women do not have nearly as many hang ups as their caucasian counterparts as far as weight is concerned and
2. Weirdos. I hate to use that term, but the white guys that I have come across that attend those events are strange.
I'm thinner than I used to be, but not yet ideal. I try to find guys that are ACCEPTING of excess weight instead of INTO it.
That's just my opinion. | |

Posted: 6/23/2008 2:11:30 PM | I totally & completely agree it is about being comfortable in your own skin is most important If you feel sexy & sensuous you are! That is what creates attraction. Different strokes for different folks. Some like them tall, some short some blond some brunette some fat some thin. Others are advanced enough not to even care about the physical.
As for the hateful comments about fat being mentally sick I have met many more skinny mean & mentally ill people than fat mean people. There are all types of mental illness & obesity is not one of them. I for one will continue to eat healthy exercise & & get to a size where I am most comfortable with myself. Have now gotten rid of over 50 lbs & yes more men are attracted but how much of that is how I feel about myself? Key words are more men. So for all of you BBWs LOVE YOURSELF FIRST!
To all the fat bashers take a good look in the mirror you can't change ugly or mean natured & that is far more ugly & unhealthy than fat. | |

Celibrate Who you are,as long as your weight is not creating any health issues and your happy with you bugger the rest of em.The eventuality of becomming not one of the "Beautiful People" that our society enindates us with daily on magazine covers and toutures the children with the idea you have to fit into this perfect look or your worthless group is We ALL Get Old and lose that.Myself for Medical reasons was 6 years ago 350 lbs.Through alot of strugle and perserverance I am very happy with me right now.If you can look yourself in the mirror and know your who you like to be then Life is good.If not then change,but change for your self not for what others think you should be. | |

Personally, I've seen California and Florida women list themselves as being BBW. But, when I check out their pics, they aren't upto the national standard for BBW. 
I grew up in California, now live in Indiana. So, I know that the environmental standards for image are skewed.
Your personality profile sounds great and I'm sure that you are a perfectly wonderful person. Just be patient my dear. Plenty of "bigger" guys, I'm sure, are drooling to meet you! | |

youd be actually suprised how well some bbw carry there weight in fact may think some to be average...bbws are blessed with awesome curves and very full assets why would any man want a flat chested boney woman is beyond me...
I think todays society is hell bent on making 100 pound women the look why??I dont think bones are attractive and it makes you look older than you are i lost alot of weight at one point but i looked 7 years older put some back on and boom my youthful look came back i mean i dropped to like 115 pounds i was starving myself and very very unhappy so kudos to all the women who eat cheeseburgers and chocolate shakes lets make being a bbw the new look in America and make skinny the out style what do ya say????  | |

You are bashing big women, who says that we all half to be the same size anyway? I just happen to be one of these "viking women you are talking about Im 6 foot 1 inches tall and I have a few extra pounds but I dont want your sympathy. I dont care what others think about me. I can get my clothes on, put on my make up and turn the heads of men that wouldnt dare say they want a big girl. But they looked none the less. I really think you could have kept this comment to yourself because the lady that wrote this thread obviosly has had some bad experiences in her time and she doesnt need you or others like you doggin her out.
