The internet is a good way to: get acquainted, let guys of all sizes know you are willing to date them, and then telling them how tall you are. Most guys are as hesitant to face rejection as are most women, and most women-even short ones-prefer to date tall guys, so most men figure that tall women must prefer tall guys even more. Let them know that such is not the case with you, and you'll meet some guys willing to try you. | |

Would LOVE to dance with a woman my height!! Now, I am not like Tall Dude - am "only" 6' in socks.
This being a typical guy comment, I would suppose, but I don't base my choices on a height requirement. Cute is cute 
and I can enjoy women of all shapes, sizes and packaging.  | |

Here is how I see the problem from my point of view, because it seems that the two of us are in a similar situation.
A short woman might think herself at disadvantage, but ultimately she can choose to date whoever she wants. Her height won't be an obstacle.
However, when it comes to a taller woman, she has got a problem.
I have a gorgeous friend. She is tall (between 5'10 and 5'11) and likes to wear high heels.
A few years ago she was telling that she would have wanted to be shorter. When she rides a crowded bus, she is taller than most of the people in the bus with her high heels. She wanted to be 5'7 or so.
Why did she want to be shorter? It was because her dating pool is small. She needs to look for a date taller or about the same height with her and that limits her options.
I guess this is your problem.
The same goes with short or average size men. They have a very limited pool of dates and sometimes they are discriminated the same as very tall women.
I guess this is life and needs to be accepted the way it is, because some things could not be changed.
However, when thinking about it, someone with a little acceptable shortcoming such as inadequate height actually do excellent dates and relationship. Because their dating pool is limited, they fight very hard to create and maintain relationships, are very loyal and dedicated partners exactly for the reason that they don't have that many chances in life and need to keep what they have.
In consequence, relax. Probably you would make an excellent date, too. | |

I've noticed this, anyway. It seems that the majority of tall men seem to date deliberately short women (I'm talking 6ft6 guys with 5ft0 women). Are there any tall guys out there who like tall women?!
Yep, I get more than my share of emails from men that are 6ft. or taller. I'm 5ft. exactly. Go figure....
...I'm a bitter 6ft1 woman, in case you hadn't guessed ;)

maybe this situation is mostly because these short women make themselves available to the tall guys more readily and the tall guys just go with it. | |

Posted: 5/10/2009 7:31:41 AM | Being tall myself, at 6'5" i can tell you why i gladly date short women. simply put there are signficantly more shorter women than tall ones in the dating pool. This means that the likelyhood of the persons personality being a match to mine is greater in the pool of shorter women.
I dont narrow my searches on height but go through the profiles and see if anything catches my eye, i dont even notice how tall they are. I have though gotten some replies back stating that I am infact too tall. =/ | |

Posted: 9/1/2009 1:33:59 PM | Being 6'9". I would love to find a tall girl to go out with. But, to find one that isnt "off kilter" in some sort of way is amazingly hard. I mean the last date I went on was with a 6'3" which was awesome but in the end there wasnt a spark and all she wanted to do is out drink me or play me one on one in basketball. I'm thinking, hey im 40yrs old. If I wanted to date a frat boy I'd go paly on the other team. First, its hard to find a tall girl, secondly its hard to find a tall girl that you can have meaningful discussions with. Third, Its difficult to find a tall girl that isnt depressed about her height and fifth, Its damn hard to find a tall girl that passes all of those past hurdles and that you have a genuine spark between you. So, I see what tall guys tend to hook up with shrot er girls. Its simply playing the law of averages.
Im still holding a torch for a 6ft'er (or close to it) that gets me and I get her.

If you look in the profiles, its the short chicks who demand the taller guys (go figure??)
you never see a guy with height requirements in his profile...
