Posted: 5/10/2006 9:05:22 AM | I don't really put too much into height...I could care less if the guy is tall or short...I was with a guy who was 6'5" for a long time...but then also with someone who was 5'5" for a long time too...but I've dated people who were shorter and taller...I really can't stress enough that I don't go for what is on the outside...I go for the heart that is on the inside...to me that is where it all is!!! I mean that is the part that is going to be making us both happy anyway...Hey, but that is just my opinion...well, along with some of the other good stuff too...lol......

Yes, from what I have seen it is very common for tall men to date shorter females. Both sexes in general seem to prefer this. I think this can be explained by base needs. Females want to feel safe and males want to feel like they can protect a female. When you have a female taller than the male, sometimes the roles shift and both sexes can have issues with that.
For a male, the dynamic of dating a significantly shorter female is different than dating someone very close to his height (i.e. less than a 6" height difference.) That isn't good or bad, it's just different. I haven't decided which I prefer. There is something very special about engulfing a smaller/shorter female in your arms, getting glomped etc. There are several other advantages too. I've only seen two caveats to a significant height difference:
1. The female may have to get used to being raised and/or using a guy's body as a ladder ex. getting picked up or sitting in a lap for a kiss or whatever. That requires a little trust, but is usually enjoyable for both people.
2. A significant stride difference will exist between a tall male and a short female, so a guy's normal walking speed may be a jog for the female. This can impact shared athletic activities but usually isn't a big deal, especially if the female is athletic. It's easy enough to go slower or just pick activities where stride isn't any issue. | |

While I think it could be difficult to slow dance with a guy who's pretty tall, I don't dismiss anyone on height. It takes more to make a relationship and tall guys can be a great asset - lap sitting, getting things off the top shelf, etc. It's all good! | |

Im really in love with tall men. now I dont want to date any guy 6 ft and under. actually i would love the guy to be at LEAST a foot taller than me (6ft 2inches about) ,why?
I duno theres just something about a tall guy lol they reach things for me lol. I feel more protected around them. I also like guys to be husky/muscular in not really into thin guys. I like them picking me up lol I would love to be with a guy 6t 4inches or like 6ft 8"...i know thats really tall especially that im under 5'2". Like ya dancing with them would be weird but, meh who cares lol.

Posted: 5/28/2008 9:07:05 AM | I've said it before in other threads, while I don't really have too much of a preference, I did notice more of a "fun" dynamic when dating shorter girls. The tall ones, including my ex wife (6'1") all were super-conscious about being "amazons" and it did get old at times.
Wheras the shorter girls generally had fun with being short, and had a sense of humor about it.
Not sure why that is, or if it was just the small sample size I am basing this off of. | |

I prefer guys in the 6' to 6' 2" range b/c the super tall ones make certain things harder. I could never sneak up and kiss the tall one. It was like "Hello, can you bend down for a second?" I don not like short guys, can't really explain why though, just a preference I guess. My friends tease me b/c I tend to avoid guys under 5'10".
So to answer your question, yes, tall guys do date very short women, in fact I mostly attract the tall ones, they find it intriging I guess! Makes for a sight when we're out in public! | |
