Yup. I'm pretty geeky myself, and I'm NOT the quiet type at all. I'm an introvert, so I do like spending time by myself (reading, writing, computer, etc.), but when I am around people, I'm pretty mouthy.

Anyhow.. where to find geek grrls? Where else? ONLINE!!!! Duh! LOL

Travel the net, dude. Start hanging out there. Not the typical places where the masses go. Go where the geeks go! You'll prolly have to point and click to places you don't typically think of. Go open some doors.

Try looking for wifi hot spots. Ever since a few local cafes lured me in with wifi, my laptop and I are regulars.

I *heart geeks*.

To be honest. Watching someone program is HaWt. (yes, with a capital w)

Hearing someone talking to other network specialists, and talking in a lingo that sounds like greek... Hawt.
(Unless they A. Don't know what they're talking about B. Talk down to people or C. Are just doing it to try and get me going.

I've been called a geek many a time. It's the highest complement I could get or give.
To my uber geek friends, I'm not that much of a geek. More of a geek lover.
To my art friends, I 'am' the uber geek.

"Geek" is a complement.

If you think you are a geek, but you don't know what you're talking about, you are not a geek, you are a dork.
If you think you are a geek, but the only skill you have is extensive Star Wars knowledge, you are not a geek, you are a dork.
Just to get that straight.

Where are the geeky girls?
Aside from me?

Well calling internet tech support untill you get a girl is a good start, but that could take a while.

Hey wouldn't it be awesome if there was a geek dating site?

That made me laugh, I needed a good laugh with the geeky stress I have been under lately (computer engineering student), thanks

I am geeky and proud... and I never realized the Sandra Bullock laugh was a plus - I had that down pat before the movie came out!

[I agree, geeky girls are hott!, its that simple, sweetness, and if she has a snort type laugh like sandra bullock in the movie miss congeniality, all the better!]

We are everywhere. You just have to be willing to strike up a conversation when your geek radar startes to go off.

The cool thing about us geeky types is that we are easy to pick out in conversation. We love to learn about new things.

To original poster- Good luck!

The line you will find beside my online name is "I am a feisty nerd!"

My girls call me a gerd.....naturally this means I am a geek and a nerd.

My one and only tattoo is a Pi sign.

I love Excel.

I love to work with facts and figures and work and rework things...there is a challenge to this.

Yeah, I am a gerd....

There are some unbespectacled geeks too! I am a geek's geek--I love Star Trek, Star Wars, and can say a few words in Klingon. But I don't wear glasses!

yes, I'm a nerd, and proud of it. Lets see where does someone like me chill? probably the stereotypical places like cofee shops, libraries, book stores, movie theatres, parks, art/drama clubs, hell... I walk around wal-mart just for fun so I can observe sheep like behavior of fellow humanoids.

I've eliminated the term geek/dork/nerd completely and compiled a different system where we are all BG's - and it's based on a scale of 1-12... 12 being bad for the most part... the kind of person who shies away from the light of day, won't talk to you unless it's in elvish, clingon or another language he/she has chosen to make up themselves, 37 still living in the basement and isn't the type who enjoy's being touched by water (you know you all have met someone like this...). Luckily there aren't too many 12's... and on the other end a 1 would someone who if you said live long and prosper or asked if they wanted to wait in line at midnight to see a movie would look at you like you had just spoken to them in a different language.

I myself am a BG-6 to put the description breifly I play online games like city of heroes and WoW, and console games like Final Fantasy XII, as well as love anime and cosplaying and go to as many conventions such as Comic-Con or Anime Expo as my monetary situation will allow me. I also watched Star Trek growing up, and am a Lord of the Rings fantatic.

My best friend however is a BG-7- because she's pretty much all the things I am, as well as she used to play card games such as Magic, and she's a hardcore console gamer, where as I will play a game through once, she will go back and play it many a times.

There are many other factors that pertain to what number you would fall under, but I won't bore you with the details, just thought I'd share this rating system with you all lol ;)

As far as where to meet BG's, I'd say bookstore in the fantasy/sci-fi/manga section, or on an online game, or look for the chicks with little pins of animated creatures on our bags, thats usually a true sign of a bg lol ;)

I'm probably a g-5. I like Trek, LoTR, and can say a few words of Klingon, but only play the old arcade classics in an arcade. If I can't plunk a quarter to play a video game, I just don't do it LOL!! I only watched anime once, and never read any manga. I only played D and D once but enjoyed it. You'll find a G-5 on the beach reading a sci fi or fantasy book or at a convention in regular clothing or a club chapter polo shirt.

I think part of being a geek, as well, is staying cutting edge. I think at a certain age, a lot of people stop trying to move forward with their interests.

Like around 25, "all new music sucks" or "I don't get these new computers" or "Things aren't like they used to be"

Nostalgia is fine, but I've always tried to make sure I stay ahead of the game in anything I do. I don't just think music stopped in the 80s, in fact, there's very little I listen to from that era. I don't think "They don't make movies like they used to" because I'm always interested in seeing new movies. While I have my favorites, I embrace the new.

With computers its easy -- I keep up with the latest technology, the newest gadgets and the most cutting edge hardware and software. I follow trends and try to predict which things are going to take off and fail. I play new video games.

That's what I think being a geek means. Staying new, staying cutting edge and not living in the past or for how things 'used to be'.

If there's something I'm not familiar with, don't know, or don't understand, I don't just blow it off and say "Ah well, that's just too advanced for me". I learn it, or at least try to. I think its important to stay ahead of the game in all we do, be it entertainment, technology or whatever.

Also, having a great imagination and great writing skills means I make a kick ass Dungeon Master.

The breakdown goes like this, in my mind

Geek: Someone smart, witty, cutting edge with a great sense of humor, lots of knowledge about lots of things and has the ability to relate with other people.

Nerd: Someone who is less social, but with a lot of intelligence and smarts, but typically shy in social situations and a recluse.

Dork: Someone who likes geeky things but isn't all that smart, thinks they are fitting in when they're not, and generally oblivious to culture and their surroundings.

I second sci-fi and gaming cons; especially in the Pacific Northwest. Geek girls seem to gravitate to the Seattle area for some reason.

I haven't seen this mentioned yet but the Goth community is an exellent place to find geek women. Trust me, most of us are the geekiest geeks that ever geeked. It's almost a prerequisite to getting your goth card.
