| Where are the geeky girls? Posted: 2/28/2007 4:54:16 PM | Any Geeky GUYS in southern New England or the New York City suburbs? I pass through New York on the way to and from my work in New Jersey. I live in Mass and am working in NJ for the time being.
I'd love to toast a bloodwine to the Klingon Empire with ya!

There is a huge difference between Geek and Nerd! And of course Geeks are BEST! Nerds have their heads up their butts reading polynomial textbooks by methane light. And besides... What would you rather do, spend a romantic evening over a gourmet dinner discussing the fastest way to get into Grand Theft Auto's Porno Scene or the application of Mordell curves in Catalan's Diophantine problem?
To justforumsplease
Yeah, I understand that in trying economic times a warrior has to tighten his belt somewhat, but the thought of tribble gore in my blood pie is enough to make me want to hork up my prune juice. My solution is not to economize, but to invade a Ferengi colony and then get the money to eat well!

Warhammer pwns! Nagash, the Accursed One, is my role model! I'm sure he has Klingon blood flowing through his veins!
Hobby shops are a great place to meet geeks of both sexes! Just hang back and then when you see a geekizoid poring over a Megatech M-46 ABC R/C Engine walk up to them and tell them that they'd be far better off with an M-61: 2.5 extra cc and 800 higher RPM develop .4 HP more!

Geeks have the best sex of any human subspecies. If you think that swinging naked from the chandelier by your nipple clips is kinky wait until you get your Geek Goddess aroused! She'll come up with entirely innovative activities that haven't even been named yet!

I'll meet you near the start of the Bruckner Expressway. I look forward to sharing a meal of freshly killed, still throbbing, Throgs Neck with you!

Oh, and Gothygeek? If you could score me an autograph from Sid, my android and I will sing "Blue Skies" at your wedding...
Oh would if I could… Unfortunately “My brother-in-law’s friend’ != “My friend”. ::Cries::
And yikes on the “wedding” thing! Sorry, that’s my inner commitmentphobe coming out.
I'm starting to think that geeky people have very interesting sex lives...
Well, to steal my answer from the “Why do stunning women go for geeks” thread (either because it was AWESOME or because I’m lazy, pick your favorite):
They know math and science. Now, that may not SOUND important but bear with me.
They understand angles. They understand levers and exactly how much tension can be applied. They can tie really, REALLY good knots. They know exactly how much weight can be held by each eye-hook installed in the ceiling.
See where I'm a-goin with this? Well, I know some of the women do.
And for Anchises:
“Less than three, you love me Typing out my fantasy Meet me here on IRC L-O-L-O-L”
Come on, you know I HAD to after the “All your bases” poem. Well, that and because that blasted song is stuck in my head and someone else needs to Feel. My. PAIN.

Your post defies logic...
Not only that, it creates a disturbing visual.

| Where are the geeky girls? Posted: 3/2/2007 2:14:45 PM | One possible reason you're having trouble finding geeky girls is that they are very busy people. They are busy having fun (and not quietly)...downtime is taken seriously, arguing the relative merits of OpenMind, playing Carcasson and swilling beer, then heading out dancing. All after they've finished writing scathing reviews of some pathetic comp.sci effort at AI, kicked ass at hockey, and made a killer meal to feed the hordes.
Just follow the quantum eddies...and trace them from there.
|
| Where are the geeky girls? Posted: 3/3/2007 2:04:28 PM | I may truly be wallowing in geekitude by admitting this, but one of my guilty pleasures is Japanese "daikaiju" films... or for the unwary, "giant monster" films.
Does anyone else find comfort in occasionally watching a superbly crafted miniature model city be crushed by a stuntman in an oversized rubber suit? To quote Marge Simpson after the famous lobotomy...
"It's bliss..."
My favorites of the last few years are definately the "Heisei" era Gamera series, all three directed by Shusuke Kaneko.
Yes... they are cheesy. Yes, they are campy... but I find comfort in knowing that not every director is a self- proclaimed "auteur", and that some people just like making movies that are fun.

| Where are the geeky girls? Posted: 3/3/2007 3:49:55 PM | | Anchises, the simple economic solution would be to simply take out the Cylons and get the humans to pay you some money (sort of a quasi bounty hunter, on a much grander scale). | |

| Where are the geeky girls? Posted: 3/9/2007 7:08:05 PM | Ha ha. I started this thread last May. I guess that was before I first got fed up and deleted my account. Wow, how this thread has evolved.
So, uh...where does a 29 year old go to meet a nice, cute, funny, geeky girl?

| Where are the geeky girls? Posted: 3/14/2007 6:10:26 PM | Hi GothyGeek and Anchises and all!!
Guess what?! My finals for winter quarter are over, as of about an hour ago!!! Yea!! Now I might have time to read and post in the forums and possibly hang out and stuff:)
So...can anyone explain to me why the Sci-fi Channel is foisting pro wrestling off upon us? (Tues, 10:00pm, right after Eureka). I mean, seriously...I've been in/around fandom for years and have never met a sci-fi fan who likes wrestling.
Hey, Anchises...you're so right about algebra being a weapon of Math Destruction!! Have I mentioned that I just took my math final? (Whee, I'm free!)

| Where are the geeky girls? Posted: 3/15/2007 9:34:13 PM | | Hey I don't get it either why the Sci Fi channel would show so much wrestling. It's time for them to get back to the Science Fiction roots and show more sci fi programming. It's like calling the Ice Cream Club the Beer Club when you really sell ice cream. DUH. | |
|
| Where are the geeky girls? Posted: 3/16/2007 6:49:49 AM | | SciFi's parent company is USA Networks... they foisted it onto SciFi's schedule. | |

| Where are the geeky girls? Posted: 3/16/2007 7:28:29 AM | | Thank god we only get Space Channel up here in canada... hardly anything other than Stargate, Andromeda (or as i call it "Kevin Sorbo goes to space"), Star Trek (all series) and Seaquest DSV. | |
|
| Where are the geeky girls? Posted: 3/16/2007 7:31:44 AM | Seaquest DSV
or "ST:TNG Underwater"
I do admit that the last episodes were kind of ok, once they got rid of Roy Scheider and got Michael Ironside.

| Where are the geeky girls? Posted: 3/18/2007 9:04:35 AM | I myself am a book geek - you'll find me in Bookstores, libraries... hell, I even work as a book distribution coordinator.
of course, I am in Canada, and I DO NOT find the title "geek" or "dork" offensive.
