3 men who sent me pictures of, shall we say, their equipment. Poor lil' fellows. I'm sure they are quite accustomed to the words: "Are you going to screw me or erase me?"

Internet dating is FUN.
And by fun I mean "Psychologically scarring".
In me it tends to promte the DRY HEAVES.

I get hate mail. Lots of it. I think a lot of men feel threatened by women who have strong opinions, but I would never troll someone's profile and take the time to tell them you think they're a douchebag. What's the point? Though, some people actually do get my sarcasm and send nice mail.
Oh, girlie, I'm right there with you. I get e-mails from irate Fundies because my Christianity happens to be different than theirs. I get e-mails from people with a pathological hatred of Goths (why my prepensity to wear velvet bothers anyone I'll never know). I get hate mail from guys that hate the "Femi-nazis" even though I'm frequently one of the biggest detractors of gender bashing (regardless of gender) on the boards. You just can't win. Which brings me to my next point:

So out of my whole post THAT'S the thing you choose to pick out? I'm assuming that's directed at me since I'm the only one who used the words "racist" or "Muslim".
Perhaps it would have made you feel better if I had used the word "Xenophobe"? Maybe if you had read his blog (like I did in its entirety) you would have known that he equated all middle-eastern men as Muslim even though some are Christian, some are Hindus and some are Sikhs. He advocated the murder of anyone he suspected of being Middle-Eastern. I just find it interesting that out of the entirety of my post you picked that one word to dissect. It wouldn't be the first time I've seen you use that tactic in various threads and I'm sure it won't be the last. I personally think you are just looking for a fight and you don't much care where you find one.
Now, perhaps you have something on-topic to add? | |

* Some men write VERY stupid emails (and IMs).
* These guys dilute appropriate emails and flood inboxes.
* These guys are the reason so few emails are responded to.
* So few responses is why I stopped sending emails!

A lot of the "Who do you think you are" type. But you know, when I respond to it and explain the reasons why I think what I think, it seems to sink in because I then get a lot of "Well, I never thought about it that way" mail too.
The kind of things the ladies are describing make me happy to be male. I would hate to be female on here.
I can't believe that guys actually troll the way they do, often sending the same pasted message to 100 women to see if anyone buys it. Amazing. That part makes me ASHAMED to be male. That segment gives us all such a bad name.... | |

however, by far the WORST msgs i get are ones that have "hi" as the subject line & then "just wanted to say hi" or "how are you?" as the email body.
i'd say 95% of my msgs look like that. AND i don't know how it's possible to have spelling/typo errors when you've only typed four words, but somehow they manage it.
sometimes i just reply "hi". most times i don't reply at all. i used to feel bad about not replying, but sh1t, man, give me something to work with!

Maybe you could include some guidelines in your profile.
"I'd love to hear about your hobbies", or "Do you like sports?"
That gives the men a clue, because we are, after all, quite clueless...... | |
