| Are you afraid of growing Old alone? Posted: 10/18/2006 3:29:08 PM | | Not really afraid of growing old, or afraid of being alone, I just don't want go through the "best" years of my life alone. My friends tell me I will be the crazy cat lady at home with 18 cats.. if I don't find someone quick and stop being so picky. but I am at a point now, where I will not settle and if if means being lonely for awhile...which really sucks by the way...then so be it. I don't want to waste anymore of my love or energy on relationships that are destined for doom. Now when I date, I know within the first month or so and either end it or look for natural progression. | |

| Are you afraid of growing Old alone? Posted: 10/18/2006 9:50:25 PM | I jumped out of a plane...twice. I fear NOTHING!!! Except maybe an upcoming 10 day meditation retreat....that is kinda scary and scorpions in my bed.... But.....scared of being mate-less, nag-less, bicker-less....? naaaaaaaaaaaa dont think so!!!!!
Sure love is spectacular!!!! And I will have it again someday, but my motive won't be to avoid FEAR. My motive will be the joy of LOVE itself.

Have you really given this serious thought? It is great that so many are comfortable within themselves, independant, free spirited....but when you grow old...do you really not want to spend the last part of your lives with someone you love deeply? To grow with, to share with, to lean on, to love? I bet many of you will change your tune the older you get, the faster that old age becomes a reality and you find yourselves facing the realization that you are indeed alone and lonely. Just my two cents worth.....

Sure we all desire to share our lives with someone special and as we age we're still like little kids looking for the prize in the cereal box. Yet hopefully too as the years pass we gain wisdom, strength rather than weakness, courage rather than fear, security rather than insecurity.
