Why misrepresent yourself?
Posted: 7/16/2008 7:11:00 AM
I have had my fair share of "misrepresented" dates......height, weight, age, marital situations, or how many times they have been married. On top of that.....I hate being disappointed. If people are that delusional, or that dishonest......I don't want to have to deal with them in my life.

I have found that internet dating has really changed my perspective. I was much more open and innocent to the possiblities when I first began. Now I am still optomistic, but wary. I wish I wasn't.....but thats what "experience" will do to you.......

I completely agree with the OP. If you can't be honest in your profile, then how can I trust you at all? AND I am 100% honest in my profile because why would I want to go out with guys who I know wouldn't be interested if they knew the real me??? Instead, I present the real me, exactly as I am, and hope that someone will find that attractive and desirable.

Stop the lying. Be yourself and you'll attract someone who wants 'you' just as you are. Until you are happy with yourself, you'll never be truly happy.

Physically what most people hide is their true body frame. I've been chatting and talking to a lady who posted her beautiful face shots on her profile. She writes that she is "average" and she really looks "average" in the face and upper body pictures. When I went to meet her she was more than "average". Her stomach was way too "noticeable" and lots of fat in that area. The main pictures should have been taken with good ilumination to highlight her blue eyes. But in person there was not light trick. She looked older in person. But I tried to have fun anyways since I drove one hour to see her. I mean it was not a big deal, she was more than "average" but not too fat and ugly either. I took it as it was and maybe she thinks she is really the beauty bomb! lol

OP misrepresentation comes in many shapes, sizes, genders and forms ..it is a weeding out process. Sometimes people put shit out there they think we want to see, next thing you know the whole reason you're on here has become a quagmire. Move on quickly and try not to let it influence the next person you talk to. The next one just might be the real deal :-)
