You can see some of her work on YouTube, if you type in her name. Sadly, she's far better known now for her work on "Canadian Idol" . Sigh.....
Almost a perfect combination of rocker, and ballad singer. Almost in the league of Janis Joplin.
Just check out "You Don't Have To Remind Me", "High Road Easy" , Pissin' Down, .
She tried doing the LA music scene, and couldn't hack it. She returned back home, and kept on pluggin' on.
I saw her do a local "MTV" style live concert show, in studio. She must have been eight months pregnant, and it BLEW me away. One of those almost religious experiences, where you see someone just FLY......
Check her early work out, and see what I mean.

| Female singers in hard rock/metal. Posted: 9/25/2007 8:16:14 PM | My most recent discovery for this category is Cassandra Ford from The Vincent Black Shadow.
Her voice is quite good - though I checked out their album Fear's in the Water, and unfortunately I really didn't think the rest of the songs compared to the title track (and actually most of them aren't even the same song style ).
A few others I can think of offhand that are good (but I'm basing it on a small sample of songs): Tina Root (Switchblade Symphony) Nina Gordon Véronic Dicaire Kinnie Starr
and to geek out a little: Nanase Aikawa

(I might be straying from hard rock/metal, but music these days is virtually impossible to categorize anyway, so I just picked whatever felt "rock"-like enough)

I would say they're rock chicks. Here's a woman that doesn't belong to any rock group, but I like her voice - Christina Anguilera.

also, the girl from the Horror Pops is pretty good if ya like the more rockabilly/psychobilly style... plus shes pretty hot too!
and from the older local scene from my home, theres a group called Crisis... this girl was only about 5' but had a growl that would make your ears bleed!
