What about horses? Mine are Thoroughbreds.

I always pass on a profile of a person who is into horses. Poo scoping for large dogs is as far as I am going.
LMAO at Ms. "moraima" (Message 74) ... I have to side with her on that poo scooping issue.

Also, I've reached an age where I'm just not sure I want to commit to an animal perhaps longer than I still will be alive. While both of my parents lived to be well over 80, there is still the concern that any doggie I would adopt at this point might become an orphan and I just would not want to do that to a helpless animal.

If I were to meet a man with a dog ... that would be wonderful. I have a lot of love to give ... I could love his doggie as well as him.

Pitbull Pete, we're definitely on the same page. Sometimes these little packages are just dropped off in our hearts for a reason. Maybe you needed her more than she needed you!

In memory of your Great Dane.

...On anniversary dates of my dogs who passed...or humans...I found this short piece from Romeo and Julliette that gives me peace...

""Lord, Father in Heaven, take your (son, daughter, father, friend)...Name...

Take him/her and cut him/her out into little stars

and he/she will make the face of heaven so fine

That all the world will be in love with the night above.""

...William Shakespeare...

"Sometimes even a medium size dog can really foul up the air."

Then the doggie bait is being feed a bad diet, or is suppliamenting their diet with some kind of bait they found themselves. My doglets eat a raw meat/bones/veg. diet air the air around them is never bad, and their breath is always fresh not foul.

If you are using doggie bait a must is that they don't stink. Nothing worse that a dog running over to be cuddled by a new person, and their breath gags that person. Same goes for doggie odour................wash the dog often with a good shampoo, and they smell as good as we (hopefully) do.

Thank You both in Nos. 77 and 78, I do not take their passing very well. Some day I will learn they do not live as long as humans.

I also make my own dog food now. My Bullmastiff loves it and is never gassy.

My Danes always attracted a lot of attention and I met lots of people and kids when out on walks. We even had people driving down the streets stop and talk.

I now have one dog, a Bullmastiff and he attracts even more attention as they have a reputation and are not real common. Everyone keeps their distance when asking if he's friendly and I can tell them he is. The teenagers especially like him as they think he's a giant pit bull.
Now if I could just get some of the good looking women that drive by to pay as much attention to me as the dog .....

Most Mastiff are wonderful/friendly dogs. However, no matter the breed of dog, it is only respectful to ask any dog owner, if it is ok to approach their dog.

People wouldn't dream of approaching people's children without asking permission, dogs should be shown the same respect.

That's even more of a lifestyle choice. My family has Quarter Horses, and I trained and showed for years and years. In all those years mired in horses not once did I find a man into horses who was also into me or vice versa. *sigh*
That would have been sweet.
