| I know I will get blasted for this but... Posted: 5/17/2009 7:21:17 AM | Reading this thread set me to thinking, about the importance of clothing and adornment.
My conclusion:
The clothes on the woman, matter much less than the woman in the clothes.

| I know I will get blasted for this but... Posted: 5/17/2009 8:17:10 PM | I only get to see my boyfriend about once a week at the moment because our lives have lots of other responsibilities. Now that the weather is warmer I find that I am choosing to put on a dress and heels rather than opt for a pair of pants and a sweater. I love dressing sexy. I love the way it makes me feel. I have always loved lingerie, and matched my bras and panties.
I think he appreciates my attempt to embrace my feminine side. I think most men would prefer to see a lady in a dress over pants, when its appropriate. Of course it would not be appropriate for settings like camping, or some other outdoors events.
My boyfriend also likes long hair. He commented on my hair just last night. I prefer my hair long, so I am not wearing it this way to please him, but it was nice to hear him express his appreciation for my mane.
It may not be politically correct for me to have these views in 2009. When it comes to time I spend with the man I care about , I embrace being a woman, and the things that make me feel like a woman, the clothing, the hair, the make up, the perfume. Loving these things does not make me "weaker" than a man. It just emphasizes the difference.

| I know I will get blasted for this but... Posted: 5/21/2009 5:53:37 AM | | I dress for myself and always have. I am more likely to wear a skirt than jeans or slacks out of personal preference, not to please anyone or be more feminine. A woman can look knock out gorgeous in jeans or a skirt or dress, it depends on how well what she is wearing suits her, basically, and how she carries herself. | |

All the women are dressed to the max, and they are really hot. It reminds me of some of those old movies you see, with women walking around in fancy dresses, and everybody dancing with style and grace. I guess what I'm saying here is: Those things are still around, you just need to know where to look. Check out ballroom dancing, it is fun, the women all dress up, and there is always a need for more men that know or want to learn how to dance.

Posted: 5/21/2009 7:53:02 AM | I go to a college that has many foreign students that dress up and as a result of how beautiful they look we all have taken to just being beautiful in whatever way we want to now. Many of us where skirts which are actually pretty comfy as long as you don't have to fight with hose. I like to go sockless myself. I hardly ever wear hose plus I am too active to keep a pair nice for long. I think in this day and age whatever makes you feel feminine or dashing is for you to determine. I wear what I want to unless of course it is below 0 then I am wearing pants period.

| I know I will get blasted for this but... Posted: 10/19/2009 7:15:30 AM | I dress for myself, for comfort and style. Can't remember when I've worn a dress! After dressing up for work everyday, I decided that when I retired I'd dress in jeans, shorts, comfortable tops, etc. That's what I do. No complaints yet, from men. Who says we can't look nice in whatever we wear, as long as it suits our style and body type?
Especially now, when jeans can be dressed up or down, and with all the sexy boots and tops to wear with them. I can understand that men like to see women in dresses and that's fine. But with me, they always know up front that it's not my style. Men in my life accept me for me, not what I wear. However, if the ocassion calls for a dress, I can do that too.
I actually prefer men in jeans, when they look good in them.

It also makes me think that our culture was more sexual 40 years ago when women wore these things than it is now. Ok, fire away at me.... I agree with you although I don't know much about old Western time. I have watched those old TV series and movies that show nice dresses on women who look sexy.

| I know I will get blasted for this but... Posted: 10/19/2009 1:14:55 PM | Well, I wear garters and stockings....5" heels.....and dresses. Can't remember the last time I bought a pair of panty hose....1980 something.
Of course, after 30 years of HAVING to wear jeans, steel toed work boots and a hard hat, 6-7 days a week...when I got home, I WANTED to dress very feminine.
Likewise, I understand that for women who have to wear a business suit, even a slightly feminine one, every day for work...they probably just want to put on jeans when they get home.
What's to be blasted about. Yeah, 40 years ago, I think women were a lot more "seductive"....though, probably not more "sexual".

| I know I will get blasted for this but... Posted: 10/19/2009 7:04:00 PM | In warmer weather it's just as easy to put on a skirt and some strappy sandals even though I'm a little self conscious about a long scar down my shin. High heels leave me in so much pain I need a morphine drip. I like to, and have to dress up a lot to play at country clubs and events but I also don't mind getting dressed up for a man if we're going someplace nice. Most of the time where guys want to hang out or meet it's so casual a party dress and pumps would just look ridiculous. Once the Michigan weather gets to the 50s the knee high dress boots come out till spring. I think it's nice when a guy prefers a more feminine look on a woman. I've never been the no makeup, t-shirt and jeans kind of girl.
