| Women that wear too much makeup at our age.... Posted: 1/2/2008 10:42:36 PM | I have worn makeup since I was 12. I did some modeling. I got my makeup done and also was taught how to apply it. Thought I might go into the theater or something at one time, but didn't. I know that I will go swimming without makeup, but I do wear my spf 200. When I go out, I like to wear makeup. I do it for myself. It is sort of like playing dress up and sometimes like artwork. I never know what colors I am going to end up with. One problem I have noticed is smoke causing my nose to run...and eyes smears my makeup. I also hate it when I can't find my daugher's sparkles. | |

| Women that wear too much makeup at our age.... Posted: 1/3/2008 6:30:39 AM | Make up should be subtle. It's purpose should be to enhance our features and diminish our flaws. Except for my morning jaunt to they gym, I do not leave the house without make up on. I also don't leave wearing sweats or pajama's. That's just me.
I am very much a girly girl. I leave the house after I am showered, shaved, dressed casually tasteful, lotioned with a light musky scent that moisturizes, coordinating bag, shoes, jacket, scarf and gloves; and that kissable shade smooched across my lips.
I can do this in a minimal amount of time because I have been doing this same thing for years. Age has nothing to do with how much make up we wear. Vanity and an "eye" for what is tasteful and complimentary are what determines this.
My grandmother would be proud.

I'm the same way, sometimes my appearance defines who I am and the way I feel. So my clothes, hair, and makeup all change with my mood. I'm usually much more self confident when I think I look good!

| Women that wear too much makeup at our age.... Posted: 1/3/2008 1:20:42 PM | I enjoy wearing makeup because it makes me feel good, and hopefully makes me look good. I don't think it matters what age you are. Too much of anything is excessive at any age. I like a more natural look rather than a dramatic appearance...but if there are ways to enhance anything (mindset, personality, appearance), I'm all for it. | |

| Women that wear too much makeup at our age.... Posted: 1/3/2008 1:48:50 PM | I love for a woman to enhance her attributes....and a natural look enhanced just so,knocks my socks off..... but I had an xgf who'd outline her lips in black and then wear too light of a lipstick shade....she looked like a kid eating a melted Hershey bar......Quite a turn off....but she finally got the hint to outline a shade darker then her lipstick in the same color scheme...but alas our relationship failed... it was my fault...I had begun to miss the cheap & gawdy look.....she told me she learned to apply make-up from the Sheila 's at the gypsy camp.....that's when I understood her need to wear glitter eye shadow.....poor baby is still using a tennis ball to apply her rouge...... | |

If the barn needs painted then by all means paint it!
But please, don't put it on like you are applying for a job with the circus in the Clown Corps!
No Tammy Faye or Jan Crouch look alikes please!

...Well if she had applied her make-up correctly the relationship might have had a chance....just teasing..... I know what you mean about the lip liner though...I've seen that a lot.......make-up should be used only to enhance what you've already got.

| Women that wear too much makeup at our age.... Posted: 1/4/2008 3:53:23 AM | That is why so many women are having "tattooed" makeup. They can truly say they don't "put on"makeup.
I wear light make-up. Having done a lot of theater, can't stand the heavy stuff on a daily basis.

| Women that wear too much makeup at our age.... Posted: 1/4/2008 4:33:07 AM | Think of Priscilla Presley--Elvis' ex.
When he married her--died black hair and heavy make up--looks like alternative does now. Then 10 years later, she was beautiful.
Now she is a botox babe. | |

| Women that wear too much makeup at our age.... Posted: 1/5/2008 6:45:56 PM | I think that it depends on the person. There are younger ladies that I think wear too much makeup. But for me, I seldom wear makeup. What you see is what you get. Figure you better see what you are going to wake up next to. | |

| Women that wear too much makeup at our age.... Posted: 1/5/2008 6:58:33 PM | You are being rather vague....
Is it makeup overall you are against, or just "too much"?
You say you have never worn it so I am scratching your head...
"Too much" makeup looks bad on any woman of any age.

| Women that wear too much makeup at our age.... Posted: 1/5/2008 7:32:39 PM | I agree FescheLola..
What exactly is..what the OP thinks as "Too much"? I may have a completely different opinion on what "Too much" is..than she does..or even you do. There are the Mimi's (from the Drew Carey Show) of the world..that think over-colorization and over-dramatization is their "perfect look". I don't think so..but..I don't have to be the one wearing it..and I won't either (unless it's for Halloween). Then there are those that think any color in the make-up is too much. Some prefer a chapstick to a lipstick..some vaseline to mascara..and a pinch on the cheeks is good enough..tout naturel (all natural).

| Women that wear too much makeup at our age.... Posted: 1/5/2008 7:40:58 PM | I was born a tomboy and could never stand much fussing over my hair or my makeup
I never wear face makeup.........a touch of blush and mascara is my usual.... I may throw in eye shadow for a date and lately I've started to use a little lipstick ....... My hair is halfway down my back because I live at the beach and I love to wear it up in a ponytail which is very carefree..............no rollers!

| Women that wear too much makeup at our age.... Posted: 1/5/2008 10:44:54 PM | | Well fishon!!! Hot Turkey Sandwich for you! Are there no bigger issues in your life? I'm 57 and I wear make-up...sometimes. Other times, not. Without it, I'm fair, washed out and featureless. With it, I have eyes! It's fun to play with my looks. Library one day, seductress the next. Go wear a uniform. | |

| Women that wear too much makeup at our age.... Posted: 1/17/2008 10:01:32 AM | "Its like seeing a guy in a speedo who shouldn't be in one...."
NO guy should ever be in a speedo
But as for the original comment, I can tell you that a lot of men find women with a ton of make-up scary as well. It amazes me how many women out there forget that make-up is supposed to highlight, not hide. I don't mind seeing a little bit on my date (I'd rather see none) but if I can carve my initials in your face without drawing blood...

| Women that wear too much makeup at our age.... Posted: 1/17/2008 11:36:07 AM | On my face, I wear a sheer tinted (Bronze) moisturizer which has a 15 SPF rating, whenever I'm going out. And yes, it is considered a light foundation or make-up. With the disinegration of the ozone layer and the intensity of the sun nowadys, I think going out without this protection on my face is a no no. Some men may be opposed to me wearing it, but it's not something I'd give up. I've already experienced skin cancer once and it was a heck of a scare. I'm not interested in premature aging and getting skin cancer from the sun again, in order to please anyone. | |

| Women that wear too much makeup at our age.... Posted: 1/17/2008 12:51:00 PM | Live and let live, dont be judgmental, be nice, stop worrying about things that are not your concern. Everyone has things wrong and right with them. It is not up to you to decide who does what, if it makes them happy, why not? Your opinion is just that, those people you are shredding may think you look like a man or that you are a judgemental witch, it is none of your business what anyone does except you. If you dont like makeup, fine dont wear it. If you dont eat meat, fine dont eat it, if you believe in Jesus, fine believe it, if you like Volvos, fine,,, let everyone like and do what they want, remember it is a free country.
If everyone liked the same thing, a very few people would be harrassed to death and others would be ignored and lonely.
Go have your hot dinner and thank God you are able to have it, many on this planet do not have that luxory.

| Women that wear too much makeup at our age.... Posted: 1/17/2008 5:51:15 PM | I'm 47 years old and I never go to work without makeup. Why do I wear makeup?
#1) Without it I evidently look very young to my older patients and they all ask me If I'm a medical student. It just takes more time to do my job if I must take time to reassure them that I am experienced. #2) A little foundation covers those little discolorations we all get with age, so I just look better in makeup. #3) People tell me I look pale and ask if I'm feeling ill when I skip the blush.

| Women that wear too much makeup at our age.... Posted: 1/18/2008 2:01:28 AM | a woman should wear makeup for confidence in my eyes, and if it makes her carry herself and be happy, I say go for it. Done in moderation, makeup can enlightening a gorgeous face, or a not so gorgeous face, and brign out a smile to die for, eyes that melt you, lips that fill you with desire. so I say, make yourself up, but keep it low key, choose proper colors that bring it out in a way that does not make you look like a freak. there are just a few who can pull off no makeup, and not every one is blessed as such. | |
