As we age our skin changes along with our body. Seems women would think about a diiferent look regarding makeup?

I think as you get older...less is more. If you are going to a function or out for the evening..hey wear make up ...but ya, not like Tammy Faye. I only wear lipstick, blush & mascara on a regular basis...have had guys say they like that I don't cake it on. But we all have to do what is needed. Some lucky ladies don't need anything, cause they have that natural beauty thing happening.

I like women who wear tons of makeup when they go out and none when they are at home so they look completely different. Hell its like being with 2 different women at the same time.

Its like I'm being a player without being one.

J/k Women need to feel good about themselves, if wearing makeup does it they should use it, if not wearing it makes them feel good thats fine too. To each their own.
I do have to admit I don't care for it when the makeup ends up on my shirt if I slow dance with a woman though.

I believe less is more when a woman matures.

I've been blessed with great skin and myself, I wear little makeup; just enough to enhance my eyes, cheekbones and lips.

That's about it!

I don't like any makeup for two reasons.
- It's a form of deception, I don't like people who accept deception as normal.
- It's full of unhealthy crap. Kissing a woman who wears makeup is gross. Yuck.
A woman that doesn't wear makeup also indicates she is likely self-confident and secure.

Seasonal allergies prevents me from wearing it in several months...so, got use to not wearing it 99.9999% of the time anyway. All my photos here, except one, are without...totally.

I enjoy wearing it when I can though.. maybe because it's something different for me.

It's full of unhealthy crap.

One of the lessons I was taught early on because of wearing makeup is how to take care of your skin. Often a woman that doesn't wear makeup was not taught about sunscreens early on, moisturizing, proper cleaning, etc. Makeup actually can keep your skin healthier because it creates a layer between you and polutants. Guys that work in shops know how everything in the air makes a layer on your clothing, that same type of stuff is in the air and can and will lay on your skin. Makeup and other skin care items can create a great protective layer. And don't think you won't have the problem being inside, take a look at a window with the light shining through. There is indoor polution.
I do like to play with makeup and wear sparkles. I enjoy it, it is one thing a woman can do. I have never been told I look like I am wearing a mask or being deceptive. It is applied to enhance what I have or make a more dramatic look. Of course I am more comfortable wearing makeup going out. I certainly feel better looking good.
If a woman doesn't like wearing make up, fine, she doesn't have to wear it. Some women are never taught how to apply makeup and it really does look funny. (You know the old blue eyeshadow on the eyelids. ) I also know women that think they are fakes if they wear dresses or skirts. All sorts of women and men out there...yeah, some men like to wear makeup too...
It is fun being a woman wearing makeup and dresses! Where is the thread on shoes?

Believe you mean... you don't want to bump into me without my WarPaint on.....lol

My mom was a makeup type in the good ol 70s and plastered my skin with oil based makeup.... I had bad acne.
The makeup I wear is very natural looking, and makes my face look refreshed....and I do put my best face forward.

Since being out of the workforce I usually go out without makeup on... doing daily stuff like grocery shopping..
I made a committment at the start of the year Put My Best Foot Forward every day.... to be dressed well and with my facepaint on and it now makes me feel good about myself.

I dare any woman to go out to work without their face and hair done, and well dressed...same with a guy... would you go to work or on a date looking like a slob?

I have never worn makeup in my entire life.
I look the same 24/7.

I take it back. Actually, there was this one time in 7th grade my mom made me a clown costume, and put clown makeup on me. It felt unnatural.

My mom wore a lot of makeup, even to this day.
I have never worn makeup, except for the clown incident.
My teenage daughter wears as much makeup as a car load of clowns.

Just maybe...wearing makeup skips about every generation...ya think?

I've never harbored fantasies or delusions about being a model or even being glamorous. Don't get me wrong, at 5-0 day after tomorrow, I am far from being a frumpy double bagger.

My point is, I found that less is more when it comes to make-up and I will leave the house without it if I so choose or simply need to move in a hot hurry.
Much of what we have to contend with is our genetics. No amount of make-up regardless of price or how enthusisatically it is being hawked by celebs, Dr's, etc. is going to give any long-lasting reversible changes or miraculous glamor shots results w/o the benefits of a professional make-up artist, photographer, lighting specialist and photo-editor.

I am not one to wear makeup...but I do have imperfections(age spots etc etc) so I did buy the new stuff with minerals and have started using it, but not very often...Now this is from other peoples views, when I started wearing it people around my work said my eyes pop, my skin does not look pale and in general all around brighter and healthier.....I refuse to look like a tammy faye or some other women that I know that puts on the heavy makeup, cause yes it looks ghastly.

It is true that less is better as we get older......it actually makes you look younger.
Heavy make-up makes you look older....so lighten up and just enhance your good features with a little....if you wear it at all.
I personally like it and LOVE lipstick......lipstick is my weakness....

Well I don't wear make up as I don't know how to apply it. I am nearly 48 and would like to try it. It would be fun. ''Why '' because I want to.

I never was one to wear a lot of make-up, but I wear even less now as I don't see that well, and have you ever noticed someone where the makeup shows so much? They probably can't see good either!

...Not me, I usually don't leave the house without any make-up, I've learned my lesson on more than one ocassion. Its Murphy's Law...walk out that door with no make-up and I can almost guarantee I will encounter a nice looking guy even on a five minute errand haha.

I tend to not wear any on a day to day basis. I do use lipgloss, my favorite smells and tastes like capuccino..

When I do go out, I'll use some light foundation, mascara and some eyeshadow. I try to make it look as natural as possible, not a fan of looking gawdy.

I have seen some women my age and older that really do overdo it. I figure that's their perogative.

I believe in changing your make up with the times.... I have always worn it and enjoy wearing it, so to each his own whether or not you do...

but really as in hair/clothing/makeup you need to keep up... who wants to see a woman 52 wearing powder blue eye shadow and frosted lipstick???? or a Mullet for that matter or spandex pants...

but to say I'm to old to wear makeup..... shaddup.... I'm gonna wear it....

Well I for one wear it. I see some women getting the middle aged frumps. They quit taking care of theirselves and point fingers at other women. They especially tend to be quite harsh with anyone that doesn't fit their idea of what or how women should dress. But for me it is part of being a woman and I still enjoy feeling and looking the part of a woman. Sometimes I wear to much depending on my mood. But then again I still believe that I can feel and look sexy. I like great clothes and perfume I like sexy little under things that no one knows about but me....I enjoy great soap. But then again now that my children are grown and out of the house I have way more time and more money for myself. I decided that I could careless what others think I am having way to much fun with my life.... Blue

TOO Freakin' funny John! LOL!

When I was a newlywed 20 yr old, my 13 yr old cousin introduded me to one of her little girlfriends as... "her MARRIED cousin". The other little girl looked at me...and says....."she doesn't LOOK married! She's wearing a dress and make-up!" In 35 yrs I haven't forgotten the profound effect that observation made on me. If I wanted to LOOK married...I needed to ditch the make up, the dress, grain about 100 lbs and forget where I left my hair brush....and then I'd LOOK married. LOL! Needless to say, I've avoided "looking married" like it was a plague (which I think it actually might be!).
As years went by, male friends of my husbands would say they wished their wifes took better care of themselves (as I did), a woman co-worker (undoubtedly related to the OP in this thread) said to me that she didn't understand WHY I cared about how I look....and my reply to her was..."yes, and I don't understand why you DON'T".

I do agree that "less is more" as we get older but must also add that women who know how to properly apply make up never look like the Clown (Tammy Faye Syndrome). They also understand that there's a daytime make up job...and a night time one. There's make up for going picnicing...and then there's make up for going out to the theatre. It's certainly not a "one size fits all" issue, and it's definitely a matter of PREFERENCE. Wearing make up no more makes a woman "fake" or "hiding" anymore than a snotty attitude proclaiming THEIR personal preferences as the ONLY ones which are valid makes a woman "real" and confident.

I agree with the less is more philosophy. If a woman has good skin there is no reason for much makeup. I wear a tinted moisturizer w/SPF30, hint of pink blush for color, mascara ( no eyeliner, eyeshadow or drawn on brows ), and lipstick. For the evening, I'll wear red lipstick. Most men seem to love red lipstick. I have to say...it looks good on me.

For the ladies out there...Dr.Denese has the best tinted, no makeup look or feel, moisturizer w/SPF on the market. It's formulated with melanin, our skins own natural pigment. Take care!
