plus i wouldnt spend more money for that when i can get to xbox 360" for 249.00 a piece for one ps3 and thats new the arcade version i paid out 249.00 for the system a 120 gig hard drive used for 127.00 and 2 game's and the charging kit for the controller for only 500 and 5 dollars get that all at gamestop inmagine that. | |

Xbox360 shines in the online gameplay which is superior to the PSN since it's very hard to cheat. Once discovered, you're banned for life with that gamertag. With the PSN, it's so easy to cheat with online games because it's a free gaming service...no incentive to do network upgrades or fix issues. The other downside to the PS3 is the wait time for games. They're always getting pushed back whereas most xbox360 games come out on time.
Give the PS3 time and the games should be better. | |

Metal Gear Solid 4 is better than anything that the 360 has out.....I have COD4 for both systems and it honestly plays and feels better on the ps3. No one is cheating on the ps3...where did u get that? Finding glitches only makes the game better...and Sony patches them up relatively quick. For 50 bucks a year the 360 lags at times with online play just as much as the free-online PS3. The PS3 supports DIVX and plays all avi files and MPEG-1 through 4. You get so much more for your money with this machine. Not to mention developers haven't even come close to scratching the surface of what the cell processors are able to do fully with a game. In reality the 360 is holding back the potential of what the ps3 can do because developers don't want to make two totally different formats for two different companies. | |

It's funny that fridayboo comments on the 360 holding the ps3 back... usually, it's the PC gamer that is lamenting that fact... Oblivion is a prime example of this, as if it had not been developed with the 360 in mind... it would have been a different experience for the PC user.
In general, the way they design games now, for multi-platform release, tends to hurt the PC experience more than anything. You might think of the ps3 as a powerhouse, but when compared to current PC gains and abilities... it's not really as great as you might think. Understand though, that designing something with multiple platforms in mind does not always equal an inferior products... it's called scalable design architecture.
The cell processor is a great piece of engineering, but it's not enough to make the console outpace the abilities of a modern gaming rig and that's always been the problem of consoles... well, at least since around 1997 or so. It used to be that you had very different games coming out for the consoles as opposed to the PC/MAC/AMIGA (some of you will remember this name), now they are, in many instances, the same.
With the advent of cheap peripherals and a 6 to 18 month upgrade cycle... it is just no contest.
The truth is, gaming is changing and the landscape won't look the same today as it will 10 years from now.
The industry as a whole is moving toward some form of unified base... there won't be game consoles at some point, instead there will be machines and systems that encompass all your modern electronic entertainment and information needs. It's already going in that direction and has been with each new generation of consoles.
In the end, it doesn't matter what system is better at this-or-that, as long as you are having fun. | |

Posted: 7/6/2008 12:07:42 AM | Well, the PS3 is among the cheapest Blu-ray players out on the market to date and has some of the coolest PS3-exclusive titles (WarHawk, Resistance, Metal Gear Solid 4). However, it lacks a great variety of titles.
The Wii is awesome 'cause of the Virtual Console - Being able to download many classic nintendo titles is freakin' wicked. The downside is getting to play actual Wii games. We have to wait an average of 6 months for Nintendo to deliver a great game and not some gimmicky party game.
My vote goes for the 360. Great variety in games, incredible online service. Yeah, we all know it also has the crappiest hardware and all but still, I love mah 360. It delivers in the right places. Backwards compatibility with Xbox games and cool downloadable games. It always keeps my entertained. | |

I say this owning a PS3 and I will never let a 360 in my house. Why wont I let it in my house? Well its M$, they only want your money. Well lemme make a nice easy list.

HDD, any bloody one you want! ( as long as it meets industry standard form factors) go order samsungs new 500 gb one and dont over pay M$. a 320 will cost you Maybe 150.

So that's 60 ish in micro transactions, 200 dollar movie player addon, over priced proprietary HDD, 120ish and a loss of 2 or 3 weeks of gaming because it was improperly designed. Thats roughly an additional 400 bucks, you could BUY a ps3 for JUST the 1 to 2 year micro purchases! ( opps forgot the Xbox Online with proprietary headset!) Unless your a strict budge gamer the 360 will cost you considerably more. However if you like halo, go for it, I'll just be getting 5 times the performance on my PC when it comes out. I'm not going on a large tangent, but the PS3 can install linux, Take movies ANYWHERE via internet to a PSP and reverse slingbox movies from my PC to the TV. Yeah the 360 can .. sync with an ipod better? | |
