Cool! An honest answer!
Since men are complected quite differently than women, they really need to be careful, should they decide to colour their hair. Dark is out, guys!If you're gonna do it, pick either a darker blonde, or a light brown.Personally,at my age, I like my hunny to have some gray......

Who cares?

Ronald Reagan did color his hair (not a great example) yet was ashamed to admit it! But in the end . . . who the hell should care?

It's a personal choice!
If you look good & feel good with a natural hair color then so be it. . . if not then get yourself a bottle of peroxide & grab hold to a strand of hair!

NO!!!!!!!!!!!Men gray differently then women, it's subtle and more uniform then woman. Not to mention if not done professionally usually looks fake and worse then going natural. Besides they look just as sexy with the gray.

Nope.

You are what you are.

And I'm bitter! My mum told me,'It's ok to still look 16 when you're 26 because when you get older you'll still look young.' Yeah right. Well, I've gone grey and I'm telling you now, 'It's tough being a George Clooney lookalike.' :)

It's a sad fact of life that while gray washes out women, it makes men look more distinguished and sexy...from what I see anyway. But then I think bald is sexy too, so I might not be the "norm." (What else is new...I never could color within the lines).

Cleothequeen, I agree with you on both counts. On men:

1. Bald is sexy
2. Silver/gray is sexy

Guys, please don't think you NEED to do this for us women to find you attractive, grey on a man is EXTREAMLY attractive. And so is bald for that matter.

my mother is pictured on one of my profile sites
she is 72 and not a grey hair on her head

is reassuring to know many many think grey is sexy
but it doesn't really play out that way in public
i have never had anyone chase after me for my grey hair

The day I start dying my hair is the day I hope one of my friends knocks me upside the head with the butt end of a rifle.

And anyone who says women can't look beautiful with gray hair has apparently never set eyes on Emmylou Harris.

Yes, by all means, I think they absolutely should! You feel younger, you look younger, and people definitely view you differently! Trust me, I started turning gray at a very young age, and have worn my naturally gray hair. Peoples reactions are different when you color that gray, and have either hi-lighting, or low-lighting done to it. It changes the perception of those around you, and the way they look at you!
Try getting a job wearing that gray over those who don't!

If a man wants to color his hair and it makes him feel more confident..then bravo for him

However, it is like the comb-over to me...as you age there are different tell tell signs of your age and when all at once there is no grey in a face that has those natural lines in it...you go HUH! I like a man who is confident to show his grey or his bald head personally!

But then I color my hair / giggle

Speaking from a mature male's point of view, men should be discouraged from colouring their hair. I think grey hair on a bloke makes him look distinctive.

I have greying hair but I get away with it by having it cut really short.

Do you ladies really want an old wrinkly with coloured hair? So false and vain.

No, I think men look quite distinguished with grey hair, but women, it is a different story, makes us look old.

Don't think I would have the courage to color my hair, kinda stupid one day your walking around with gray hair and the next you have black hair, I have seen it happen, people think it's funny men trying to look younger, I have had to many compliments on my hair color to color it, that's like young kids putting shoe polish on the little whiskers they have below their nose, they want to look older and cool, I know I did it lol I like who I am and what my hair looks like, I'm in my 50's can't change that with a little hair color.

I think men actually look a little sexier with the gray going on. And, actually, maybe even a little younger? Please, no dye. And if a guy is bald....please, no comb-over. Just let it happen!! Remember back in the early 90's -- when the big fashion statement was for guys to grow the back long, and then go get a "curly perm" ---- aaaaarrrggghhhh!! Women can color their hair all day long --- and it can be really cool, but I think as a general rule, most of the women I know prefer a guy leave his hair in its natural state.

Oh i remember the guys who were going bald so they let the back grow out and wore it in a ponytail. I thought that looked hot on some and not so hot on others.

I have dyed mine in the past, it is not dyed now. I look younger when it is dyed and get more contacts from women online. I have been thinking about it again but don't know if i will or not. One thing to remember is that if you had real dark hair when young do NOT buy the dye formula for that color, got lighter and it will look natural.

Personally, I think gray hair on anyone, man or woman, makes them look older than the color of hair before the gray. Even more interesting, I also think it makes them look much less energetic; whether they are or not. Associate it to marketing, if the package looks stale, who will buy it?
