Let's be the generation that doesn't color the gray to be what it 'used to be'. I say we color the gray... oh... orange? bright blue? Change around when the mood hits. I wonder why everyone wants to look like everyone else? Especially now, when we've only got so many years left to be wildly individualistic!

| Should men color the gray Posted: 9/11/2010 4:02:29 PM | Personally, I like men with hair. I don't care what color, but yeah, I do dig some gray or white in there. I think our tastes change as we evolve.
I haven't done the purple or pink in my hair in awhile. Working in offices that have dress codes really cuts down on some individuality. Not sure I would enjoy a man having colors like that in his hair. I know I don't care for the black color some men use.

| Should men color the gray Posted: 9/12/2010 11:32:45 AM | well i know my daughter really thinks i should do it. for job and social reasons. the discussion i once had with some girls in the church group though went like this:
we are going to have a party and add hi lights to our hair
my reply: god already gave me silver hilites.

Now there's a different take on the issue. Why should the kids be the only ones walking around with purple hair?
Personally, I'm just going to let the gray come in. As long as I've got some hair, I don't care what color it is.

| Should men color the gray Posted: 3/15/2011 9:39:39 PM | | If and when I get into a long term relationship with a woman and she askes me to change my hair color i may consider it. Until then nature will take it's course. | |

| Should men color the gray Posted: 3/16/2011 9:45:07 AM | | Any change in hair color male or female has got to be done well, kept up meticulously and professionally. You can spot a bad dye job from a mile away. My BF's friend came over one night and he looked like he had a ferret on his head. It went silvery grey to pitch black over night. Lame. | |
|
| Should men color the gray Posted: 2/14/2012 3:29:50 PM | I DO NOT COLOR MY HAIR. I PERSONALLY AM TURNED OFF BY MEN WHO COLOR THEIR HAIR, MUSTACHES, BEARDS, ONLY BECAUSE THEY USUALLY DO A VERY BAD JOB OF IT AND IT WOULD BE BETTER LEFT GRAY.
sorry about all caps! I've seen bad dye jobs, it usually looks very fake, too dark, too monotone, too dull.

| Should men color the gray Posted: 2/14/2012 3:33:15 PM | | Maybe some men color their hair for their own personal joy and benefit, and could really care less what the general population thinks. Just a thought. | |

It takes years off and makes them look (and probably feel) much younger. Never underestimate the psychological boost covering the grey can give to both men and women.
If the man absolutely does not want to cover the grey, fine. But I suspect most of us would find ourselves that bit more attracted to someone with less grey, rather than more. It's not mutton trying to be lamb; rather it's about making the best of ourselves!

So does exercise.
I'm not ashamed of my age. I've done my utmost through my life to view whatever age I am as the best age to be.
And during the warmer months I spend a lot of time doing physical work with people who are mostly considerably younger. I get a big kick out of matching and sometimes exceeding what they can physically do. For me being the grey haired dude running circles around those half my age is a lot more fun than being the guy whose hair color belies his actual age.
When my hair started to turn a lot of friends suggested I color it. I figured that would just set me up for the inevitable day when I'd have to make a sudden switch to full on grey rather than just naturally make a smooth transition.
I adopted a philosophy that every grey hair represents at least a hundred smiles in my life, and I'm getting happier by the moment.
I don't begrudge others their personal choices. That's just the philosophy that works best for me.

^^^^ I agree
Short salt & Pepper hair = Very Sexy Long Salt & Pepper hair = Okay, but I don't like it much Bald = Very Sexy Dyed hair = Very Cheesy

| Should men color the gray Posted: 2/17/2012 5:26:45 PM | ^^^Some women dye their hair, sometimes it's black, sometimes it's blonde, sometimes they change their age on their profile (I'm sure dropping 10 years off) and start a new one every month. But rarely do you see a woman with grey hair - they/we all dye it. I steak mine, covers the pesky greys.
I love a guy with grey hair. I love a guy that shaves it off. I love a guy with a full head of hair. Guys look great with hair or no hair - sexy as hell. The only thing I don't like is bald with a ponytail of 10 hairs or a comb over.

| Should men color the gray Posted: 2/17/2012 10:00:37 PM | | Yes, they should color their hair if it makes them feel good and look better. However, most men use cheap crap like grison formula, tonics, and out of the bottle junk and it looks awful! If you're going to do it, have it professionally done. Then you must be willing to maintain it by having your roots touched up every two weeks. | |

| Should men color the gray Posted: 3/1/2012 12:27:41 PM | I'm sorry ladies, but I absolutely refuse to color my gray. Nor will I hide my bald spot with a combover.
Actually, I have white hair in my beard, and maybe a few white hairs on my head.
I earned them!
Oh, and you don't need to cover your gray either.

| Should men color the gray Posted: 3/1/2012 8:07:21 PM | | NO he doesnt. I was shocked when I saw him. I use to love his dirty draws now they are just old and dirty. | |

| Should men color the gray Posted: 3/2/2012 6:02:16 AM | I don't feel it's necessary and prefer the natural look. Todays society puts far too much emphasis on trying to look young/younger. The natural process of aging is nothing to be ashamed of! I don't bother trying to hide my silver/grey hairs and don't really care if others feel I should do. I don't buy into the dogma!
But if it's something you feel you want to do...then by all means, give it a go!

"Bald = Very Sexy" Well, to me, sort of okay, not especially sexy, but way better than attempts at a comb over .
Comb over = very unsexy, very, very unsexy

| Should men color the gray Posted: 3/2/2012 10:04:39 AM | I watched an episode of "Blue Bloods" with Tom Selleck at the beginning of the season and noted his hair and stash had been dyed. I don't know why the producers felt the need to do this. He kinda reminded me of Groucho Marx.
Didn't like the look at all.

When I get a hair cut I tell the barber to just cut the gray out...he doesn't think I'd look good bald.
