Posted: 8/28/2006 12:40:33 PM | I'm thinking Greece, next march, I'm thinking of taking my mom with me, lol, get her out painting while i scuba dive. She spent the last 32 years raising my brother and I and I think the least I can do is give her a good holiday.
I'm thinking of doing a trip to honduras for 6 nights of scuba diving soon as well :D will be nice to just get away and relax :D | |

The have the world famous Maho Beach which is right at the end of the runway of Princess Juliana Airport. Lying on the sand watching the jets take off and land would be a major (albeit noisy) treat. | |

Posted: 9/2/2006 8:47:50 PM | I am so grateful for my trip to Botswana (Africa - April 06). Instead of having a 50th birthday bash, I treated myself to a 2 & half week photo safari in Botswana. I've wanted to go to Africa since I was a child when I saw a John Wayne movie with him being chased by a rhino.
It was everything I dreamed of and more! I took a micro-light flight over Victoria Falls. It was so incredible to have elephants come into our camps at night (they are huge eating machines). One of the most heart pounding moments was when a lioness sat next to the left rear tire of our jeep. I was close enough to her that I could've patted her on her head! Our group was small (4 of us and 2 guides). We saw: lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, wildebeest, kudu, wild dog, hippo, crocodiles, and an incredible amount of bird life. The only thing we didn't see were rhino and water buffalo. | |

Posted: 9/3/2006 11:23:55 PM | I actually took my dream vacation - African safari - 3 weeks in SA last fall. It was incredible and gave me a small taste of the continent. I'm hooked and will definately go back - although to different destinations - there is so much of the world to see that I hate to repeat.
I've done most of the UK, large chunks of Canada, 10 states, Mexico, Jamaica.
Did the helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon and it was great! Although I have to say doing my first sky dive over the Valley of 1000 hills in South Africa was better!
I'm actually going to break the continental Europe barrier in '07 as I visit friends in Spain.
I've only really started travelling alone in the last few years, so working my way up to the adventure level. | |
