Western men somehow concluded ( through their limited erudition and education through daily press and central TV news) that they can come to Eastern Europe whenever they feel like and immediately get a woman-slave who will fulfil all their needs, keep silent and stroke their ego until the rest of their life. What happens then is that that kind of man finds women over here who speak back, want attention and pampering, etc, basically no different than their Western women. Since that kind of behaviour has not met their expectations of a humble, slave woman, they rush to label them as gold diggers, while their western woman doing it all the time, or even worse, but are never painted with the same brush. Isn't it that the only women who are interested in these men are the gold diggers (and there are bound to be some in any society) who pretend to fit their stereotype until they have got what they want (marriage, residence in another country or whatever) and who then cease to be slaves and make their own demands. The majority of women in Eastern Europe probably have little interest in these men and no desire to get involved with them.

you are wright no need to put down anyone, but there is also no need to force the issue that everyone is the same, how can we be if we are supposed to be individual.
I have met and had some great time with ROM, ROMI people.
yes the word "Gypsy" has become politicaly incorrect. Just to mention, you may want to change your description in your profile it says Gypsy not ROM - just thought to bring it to your attention.

| do women from different countries act differently Posted: 9/17/2009 4:21:02 AM | i think that women think the same but act differently based on their socialisation. i know i know its a bit of a generalisation but if you were to ask 10 women from different countries as to what they required from a relationship. the anwsers would be the same .
what do you reckon? | |

no need to force the issue that everyone is the same...
force>>? giving an opinion is not forcing is it...you can take what you want and leave the rest.. Also I DO NOT believe everyone is the same.. I beleive there are MANY INDIVIDUAL personalities that run the gamut across cultures WHERE EVER you may be. I feel you cannot generalize or stereotype race..country etc.

| do women from different countries act differently Posted: 9/17/2009 8:58:34 AM | Yes they do, indeed! the first time i was in a group of Aussie women for a 2 weeks excursion i got shocked and mortified. Extremely and strongly opinionated very vocal with f plus others swear words in every second sentences what potty mouths.
In hindsight i was turned on by their strong character. LOL

| do women from different countries act differently Posted: 9/17/2009 9:08:37 AM | I experienced that same thing! My first time in Sydney, I was at a bar, and 4 babes picked up their table, slammed it into our table, sat down and started telling dirty jokes....it was awesome, and yes kinda shocking | |

| do women from different countries act differently Posted: 9/17/2009 9:14:16 AM | Tantra,
Your assertion is simply inaccurate. Women from different countries WILL act differently for no other reason than their life experiece has been different.
You have proven this fact through your own behavior on this thread. You were immediately offended by the remark made about the gypsy. Ok, why? Because the Roma have been badly judged and discriminated against. Naturally, this discrimination will, on average, effect their personality and also yours ( assuming, of course, that you grew up in an environment where you were personally effected by this discrimination.)
This truth exists all over the world if your observe the history of that country. I WOULD argue that eastern european women place a much stronger value in family, and family values. Western men have in many cases got it wrong. It isn't that this east european woman is easilly controlled, instead her values are simply more likely to encourage the development of family. Often, at first at least, this will appeal greatly to the man who needs to be in control.
I think that every person around the world is the same in their emotional, psychological, and intellectual capacity and make-up. However each culture WILL be different because the experience of each culture within any given country will vary.

well it is force when i see people trying to prove their point of view that everyone is the same by throwing words like Racist, nationalistic, sexist into their argument, dont they have any other arguments? what they are really doing is steriotyping and labelling.
To me, I have said through my experience this and this - hence there is my opinion it has a basis a foundation a reference point. I just dont see that from the other side so to speak.
then the racist thing - I dont want to make it personal but just an example you get offended by the word Gypsie, you say it’s not politically correct that the real name is ROM but in your own profile you say Gypsie wtf?
To all the ROM people out there and not because of political correctness either but true honesty, thank you for some of the great times Ive had with you guys and yes your woman or HOT so is your music !!

| do women from different countries act differently Posted: 9/17/2009 6:21:41 PM | sorry its of topic...but I just felt the need to ad a little basic information
in Europe there are two blood lines Rom or Sinti one is East and the other West Europe there are a lot of people calling them Gypsy, because somewere in their blood line they had an ancestor being Rom or Sinti and there are the wandering tribes, nomads that like the way of living...
both don't have any thing to do with a Rom or a Sinti there is a rule of living, behavior and the acceptance of the leaders based on the fact that the Rom or Sinti can proof their father belongs to the clan...
their is the language...only passed on by mouth ...which is a dialect of Sanskrit
the accusing of stealing came up when it was just easy to blame a outsider which would not stay within the town and keep moving and therefor couldn't defend themselves...because of the fact there were no citizen right for Rom or Sinti...
nowadays since forced for so many decades (it was not allowed for a Rom or Sinti to learn a craftsmanship by the guest governments) to only relay on trade business or music there is a definite need for education...and since East Europe is still behind in a lot of things...the need there is more ...I am sure it will be overcome
the believe for all clans is Christian and that's the reason for the emigration from India...
so back to the topic...would be a woman of this background different...yes...but also different within her own race depending on upbringing.... personality and personal experience...
to limit any persons quality to being more submissive or sweeter...will lead to not know the person at all...we have so many facet's to offer and it is this diversity that makes each one so very unique

| do women from different countries act differently Posted: 9/17/2009 8:48:19 PM | | I think the myth of certain women being more subservient and quiet in demeanor is probably encouraged by the business that deal with foreign brides. Since the men that frequent those websites are usually looking for that behavior - it's in the women's interest to present themselves that way. Subsequently it only enforces those ideas. | |

| do women from different countries act differently Posted: 9/17/2009 11:08:03 PM | | varinia, the only time I ever hear the words submissive or subservient, is from the mouths of feminist women. They use it as a put down to any women that doesn't try to steal a mans pants. I've dated foreign women and none of them have been submissive or subservient by any means. They had their own opinions but no agenda to establish dominance like American women. I can actually have a conversation with them instead of an argument. If I say black, an American women will say white just to be contrary. It's almost automatic, I'm not even sure they realize they do it because it's so bred into them to oppose men. I witness this behavior constantly. I'm working on my mailbox a few weeks back, and my neighbor across the street is pulling weeds out of her flower bed near the curb. The lady next door to her starts talking with her and she comments on how hot and humid it was. Ten minutes later her husband pulls in the driveway coming home from work, and he comments on how hot and humid it is. She says to him "You think it's hot?...I'm just fine, doesn't bother me"......so freakin typical. | |

| do women from different countries act differently Posted: 9/18/2009 1:32:41 AM | A little off topic. I’ve had a bit to do with Romi and the eastern Sinti (Cincar) clans they are highly communal and well organised even cross borders and unbelievable people that have influenced music and life to a tremendous degree in eastern Europe, and yes the women are wild in the best way. No I’m not a Rom, Sinti or a Gypsy.
On topic Varinia – I don’t think that the men on this forum are saying “submissive,” Personally, I’d hate to be with a submissive lady, what they are saying is just what the title of the topic is saying they act differently as far as different cultures are concerned. If anything woman from some cultures are more “wild” and head strong but not in a vindictive way they are more spirited, I can vouch for only my experiences and preferences. Yes some are more home orientated but that’s not being submissive.
You know what gets me and makes me laugh, some profiles in fact quite a few saying – must not be looking for sex, no sex, no sex, no sex (yes intimate encounter is a different ball game) – and then some guys responding on forums – I’m not looking for sex looking for my soul mate but no sex BS!!!
We have over conditioned ourselves to BS and forgotten that we are human, too much of what’s in it for me attitude, lost trust in people hence also in ourselves, as one poster quite correctly labelled POF, plenty of fighting instead of what it should be plenty of fish, all different types all individual from clown fish to sharks to crabs if your unlucky. The great ocean has turned into a Puddle Hmmmm got these Puddles following us everywhere very shallow and murky instead of an ocean.
So yes woman from different cultures act differently – praise the lord for the ocean of variety and please dear lord get rid of the puddles.

@ snowboardchick Got a few for sale if you want one (houses not woman - although believe gypsy population still sell their daughters!) -
how disrespectful to say such a thing! stupid! since I conclude u dont belong to the race of Gypsy and do not know any of their rules of living AND make such racist comments! I would appreciate u keep this to urself!
I am shocked and disgusted!
as of it wasnt enough to die in the gaschamber and being sold as slaves..now u come along and play expert on Gypsy living - I sure feel like vomiting!
Actually I know quote a few gypsy or Roma or 'stigani' (Bulgarian word) and about how they live as I have been living in close proximity to them for a few years now. The 'Roma' people here are more like the 'lower class of society' or certainly seen that way by the rest of the Bulgarian population and always talked about in a negative light. And there are several 'classes' or types of gypsy . While many work hard and live in normal houses, some still live in slums on the edge of towns and cities. And for your information there did used to be a 'market' for selling young Roma girls and they are often married off very young and have children as young as 13 or 14. It is tradition here for the man to 'kidnap' the girl he wants and certainly in times past even if she did not want to marry him there was little she could do about it.
I use the term gypsy because if you use the term Roma, people automatically assume you mean people from Romania. While maybe not politically correct the term gypsy is used as a every day word to refer to this group of people. Here at least it does not mean people who are nomadic and wander around with no fixed abode.
So I must conclude that your knowledge of Roma or gypsies comes from a google search and not from living and working with these people. Please do not ever come this way if you are so easily shocked and disgusted as you would not last a day.
Sorry off topic but some people really need to lighten up.

| do women from different countries act differently Posted: 9/28/2009 8:02:16 AM | Women have the same way of thinking , no different among them. I used to have two relations with women from different societies, one in the east and the other one in the west.. I noticed a slight different in both of them, Eastern woman is a bit emotional more than western once. Love, nice touches, caring and opened heart are found in both of them.. Woman is a virtue given to the man.. Should be treated like a rose or more... | |

| do women from different countries act differently Posted: 9/28/2009 9:03:37 AM | There's a difference form Christianity and religion. Don't confuse that with Christianity. The Bible say the wife must be submisive and the husband must respect his wife. Your cousin is religious and the religion of full of do's and don't do and it's man made rules and regulations. Christianity is about your personal journey and can't force anyone to journey with you .
Back to the topic- Yes in Zululand,a man can marry multiple wives and because it's their culture. So they have to put up with other wives. Also my tradition( Xhosa)- a girl cannot ask the guy out cause old folks are saying it's " cheap " and guys are known to be hunters and have to persue the girls and we(girls/women) are responders.

| do women from different countries act differently Posted: 10/3/2009 3:53:57 AM | I'd like to think so, I'd also like to think that non-Americans are more down to earth, accepting and easygoing too. But, until one lives over the big pond one never knows.
Not the radical I used to be...but one holdover from those days is that our economic system is mostly to blame. I swear some people most spend their whole day looking for people to piss off.
One of Tony Soprano's russian conquests said it best, can't remeber the exact quote but it was right on. Americans expect to get everything their way or something like that.
