1. It is to small of a survey size
2. It was done by authors intending to use the information for their book which was anti-circumcision and biased from the beginning.
3. It drew a conclusion that was glaringly wrong.
The older women also had more lifetime unaltered partners (Z=2.95, P=0.002). This may have reflected the decreased availability of unaltered men of similar age for the younger women.
Bzzzz... wrong... circumcision rates has been dropping over the past two decades. The "scientific" study couldn't even look up statistics for that before drawing conclusions.
4. It uses a 13th century antecdote that some rabbi randomly said as evidence. Either you are desensitized from foreskin removal or you're not, you can't have it both way. The Rabbi says that the circumcized man cums as soon as his crown enters her and that the foreskin shields the penis and desensitize. Anyway it's a horrible source.
5. If you take anecdote, there's plenty of anecdotal evidence suggesting the opposite of what this study says
6. Natural is NOT always better. The human appendix is a vestige part having no use and worse of all, once in a while gets infected and has to be removed. I'm not by any means using this to justify circumcisions, after all the situations and are completely different and you wouldn't go in and cut out the human appendix upon birth anyway. I'm am just trying to get rid of this brain bug of natural = better.
Regardless, I am against circumcision on an infant even though I am fine and even glad with my own. The reason I am against it is because it is a pretty permanent (you can now do operations to reverse it sort-of) body change that should be up to the person. | |

Posted: 5/20/2006 12:10:45 AM | I had it done when I was about 10 years old, for medical reasons. I don't remember feeling any pain at all. They knocked me out cold with anesthetic.
It was extremely sensitive for a few days afterwards though. On the night it was done, I couldn't even wear pants, just a long t-shirt.

Your thinking is sloppy here armourpierce...you are right that circumcision rates have been dropping over the latest two decades; however, consider the lag time between those rates and when the women in question experienced the circed/uncirced sexually. If the circ rate drops from 64% in 1980, to 40% in 2000, that means women who were born alongside the men who were born in 1980 will be having sex with those born in appr 1980. The "over 40" women are not having sex with babies, as you suggested.

First of all, he is NOT just some rabbi. If you were jewish, you would know that he was THE foremost commentator on the Torah. He is still a pillar of Judaism. This is noteworthy, since circumcision was invented by their god (or, if you prefer to say, "by the Jews," still the following holds), and not by some medical doctor who discovered it was more sanitary this way. The original purpose was for the covenant between YWVH and man. Later, some justified it by alleging it was cleaner. Now, the first reason, if not the only reason given for it, is cleanliness; which from the outset was a rationalization.

We agree here. I place no stock in anecdote. When a girl says, "I love it natural," or "Natural is sexy," that means nothing except to her.

I agree wholeheartedly. However, the foreskin cannot be compared to the appendix. The foreskin serves many purposes. In support of the foreskin's utility, in humans and other species, the evidence is overwhelming (if you'd look at it from both sides).
Again, remember why men started cutting off part of their babies penises. Was it because they thought it served no purpose? No--it was a command from god.
I am glad you are against circumcision, if only because it is a body modification forced on babies without anesthetic. But, then, babies can't complain, so let's keep acting like an uncivilized, primitive culture and continue this tradition of cutting off part of our babies penises, because "he'll look like his father." This is tantamount to the tribes who force prepubescent men to drink the semen from the elders, straight from you know where, as a rite of passage; or other tribes where they scar the boy's body to symbolize his entrance to manhood. Only we are doing it to baby boys, as a matter of course. By default, most doctors (fewer modern doctors, now), just chop it off without even asking the parents. Even asking the parents makes me sick to my stomach, as though they have a right to the baby boy's body.
If you want your son to be circumcized, do it yourself. Don't pay your doctor $200 to do it. You can sell the foreskin to the cosmetic companies, and you might just feel a little of the guilt that ought to be falling on your shoulders, from cutting up part of your son's body when he couldn't defend himself against you cruel vandals. | |

I'm thinking about possibly getting a circumcisions, however, I heard that it is UNBELIEVABLY painful as an adult.
Also, there might be other issues that I should know about...both positive and negative and would like to hear from anyone who can possibly shed any light on this.

Bottom line, Doc cut too much, it got infected, Doc had to cut the head off the member and this person sued and got loads of money. You think about this before you consider the risks.

Both cut and uncut guys that are mere minute men.
My personal opinion to the OP. Do your research, and if you feel it is necessary, go for it. But if your gonna do it, make sure it is because you want to. Not because a lot of women say they don't like it.
Me.... not cut, and how hard is it really to pull the skin back and wash it. I'd only ever get it done if there was a medical problem and I had to.
Just thought of something kinda funny. My ex used to say it's like playing Roll'Up The Rim To Win..... | |

Elena, try not to generalize women as a whole. Myself, I have never had a yeast infection. Then again, I rarely sleep with uncut men (and if I do, I always use a rubber). Maybe you're getting yeast infections and "cottage cheese" like discharge all the time because you love rubbing smegma inside you all the time! Just my thoughts! | |

1) Are you happy that you did it?

Posted: 5/21/2006 8:48:29 AM | By the way, there are some scientific benefits from Circumcisions and the most important one is that the penis-head is less vulnerable to have germs around it when the skin is removed and it's not supposed to stink! It can easily be cleaned when the head is not in the folder!
THAT IS JUST NOT TRUE! It is just as clean as the person is! The only real meddical concern is that cirumsized men have less of a change of getting penis cancer in there 70's and 80's it reduces the chance by about 3%!
Also as far as appearance sake circumsized or not when it's hard unless it's being inspected there is very little dirrence.
As for sexual sensitivity the 'hood' portects the end of the penis so men who are not circumsized have greater sensitivity. Think of it this way the inside of your mouth and your lips are the same matterial, the difference is your lips are exposed to air therefore they become tougher, the same thing happens to a circumsized penis! | |
