I've seen good people turn evil. I've seen the "one" I love turn into a complete stranger after 3 years. People change. Personalities CHANGE. HEARTS OF GOLD turn into BOWLS OF SHT. I have seen them all.
Also, people are attracted to what they're attracted to. You can't change the laws of chemistry & attraction. Just because we all are going to have saggy skin, no need to spend my good years with someone I am not even attracted to.
So, your logic sucks....

Nothing wrong with having personal preference as far as physical beauty is concerned but I'd be careful to put too much of an emphasis on that alone

Did you READ what I wrote? lol as I said nothing wrong with having personal preference, it's the emphasis that you put on the physical preference that poses a problem later in life when you're left with the superficial beauty queen whose lost her beauty. Bad attitudes are extremely ugly :cough:
Also I do not dispute that people change, become jaded & bitter etc. That's usually due to things like .......
I've seen the "one" I love turn into a complete stranger after 3 years. You either deal with it, learn from it, become a better person because of it......or you become "evil" toward the opposite sex, jaded & bitter. But HEY as long as it comes wrapped up in a pretty, hott albeit temporary little package right? LOL

I suspect that if you had a look at these average looking men's bank balances, it might shed some light on why they're with hot women.
So says one of the crabs in the boiling water pulling the others back down into the pot for daring to try to escape from mediocrity.
This shaming mechanism is getting old. Lots of ordinary guys have more charisma than you. When i was younger i was shy and all that and decided to get over it and actively worked on myself. The only thing holding me back was me. It's so easy to sit there and be like "aww man i'm so plain. I can't get hot babes without money. I guess that gets me off the hook of trying!" It's PATHETIC. Women don't care about looks that much. You meet a certain criteria level that's not too tough and you're in. I'm not delusional enough to think i have much chance with supermodels and stuff, but i've had some damn hot girls in my life even when i was younger and had nothing and was thinking "damn how'd I get her?" Because i acted like a damn man instead of sniveling wimp trying to come up what is wrong with other guys so that i can feel better that other men are being more successful than I. I didn't understand then, but i'm all too keenly aware of how things work nowadays.
It's the same as when women sit there and say that the prettier girl "must be a slut" when they have absolutely no reason to believe that. They just want to drag the woman down to their level and make it easier to accept that there are better people than they in the world.
It make me sad to see that middle aged men are still looking for Miss hot body,
You might as well question and feel sad that dogs bark because it is male biology to find hot women. No matter how much you hope and hope and hope we simply do not get turned on by intelligence. Stop trying to make men fall in love with the same traits that women look for. We can appreciate those things, but they do not turn us on.
The only sad part is that so many of these men probably let themselves fell apart and still are delusional enough to believe they have a chance without tight game and a lot of life success (beyond money). 45 years old, fat, and with little skills isn't much to hang your hat on to snag a hotty. 45 year old men with their crap together, their body in shape, with their skills and experiences many, should fairly easily be able to snag younger hot women. I have friends like this and I try to model myself after them because I have seen the light and learn from their successes and mistakes. A big problem these days is that men have no mentors.
I've seen pictures of these 70-105 year old men & women in their younger days/prime of their lives. Some were stunningly beautiful & as handsome as handsome could be, to turn around & see how cruel life treats our bodies was sometimes shocking. No matter your body type now, you can only hold off gravity for so long.
Eventually most everyone lets themselves go. There is no reason to die with no muscle tone. Strength is the greatest predictor of longevity. There is no reason to die weak.
I'd rather be awesome for 70 years than say "oh screw it i'm going to turn to dust anyway." 70 years is a long time. You might as well kill yourself since you're going to die anyway with that sort of attitude. Might as well make the best of your mind and body while you're here instead of living with defeatist (loser's) mindset. | |

I had an incredibly beutiful girlfriend once. We would go to the bar and I would spend all night beating the guys away. Every where she went guys were all over. It was far more of a PIA than it was worth.
I also had a friend on college give me this pearl of wisdom.. a beautiful woman never has to develop a personality. Everyone has always liked her because of her looks. She most likely has no idea how to treat someone.
An ugly woman with a LOT of friends, now that is a cool girl that knows how to treat people. | |

For about 3 months, i dated a girl who was WAY out of my league....she liked me because i made her laugh, and because she stated that Nerdiness was "in".....we had a great time....she looked like a model. When we were out together, most people didnt believe we were together, so guys would come right up and hit on her right in front of me. Usually, she would blow them off, unless we were running out of money, then we'd get a free drink out of him and tell him to buzz off....

However, I don't need them all to be attracted, just one! And since I have more to offer than my questionable looks (IMO), I could usually find someone I considered "hot" who was also compatible in other ways.
As for the future: if I love someone, I'm not going to be bothered as their (and my) looks fade over time. | |

I attract enough women and I am patient enough that I will be able to find a girl with a sharp mind, a great personality, and a compatible outlook on life...
in a size 3 or 5. With killer looks and a cute style.
I don't date on POF. I meet girls everywhere I go. I am not a part of the whiney culture.

^T^ , normally I agree with you but not this time . "I" consider myself to be quite normal but I have gone out with several women in my younger years who were stunning - by both society standards and mine. I know that there were occasions when people wondered "why is she going out with HIM"? Personally I think I was able to date these women 'cuz I had enough confidence in myself to be able to do it. I probably gave these women some of the best nights of their life. I was able to talk to/with them on intellectual levels that the "gorgeous guys" often seemed incapable of; same applied to my humor. Maybe it was 'cuz I knew I was normal and had to work harder to get women to notice me? All I know is that it can be done. | |

Just check out your local newspaper's wedding pages sometime. Sure, everyone's been dolled up for the big day, but most are pretty average, and a bit on the chunky side these days.
I don't know why average folks think internet dating would be any different, but it's not. In real life perhaps, women are slightly less shallow than men when it comes to looks. Online, everyone seems to be equally shallow, clickin' away on the prettiest pics.
In the end, you are responsible for your own happiness. No one owes you anything. You may WANT the perfect man/woman, but if you don't have perfection to bring to the table, do you really think you deserve to get it? Be the best person you can be, and you might be surprised how attractive that makes you. Complaining about it does nothing by way of self-improvement, and makes you seem less attractive, if anything. | |
