Posted: 10/19/2009 4:40:09 PM | More to the point, why do many average looking men never give a chance to an average looking girl - because I'm 'not their type' = us reasonably okay gals have seen many an average man (without the benefit of a large salary, sporty physique or even hair as bate) chase the same most attractive girl at parties then complaining bitterly about how picky women are when rejected. This tendancy is just impossible to see online. It seems the forums are strewn with similar bemoaning.
Here comes some theoretical mathmatics YAWN.
The Nash equilibrium is the traditional solution concept in game theory. It is traditionally underwritten by appeals to the cognitive abilities of the players. It is assumed that players are aware of the structure of the game, are consciously attempting to maximize their payoffs, and are attempting to predict the moves of their opponents. In addition, it is presumed that all of this is common knowledge between the players. These facts are then used to explain why players will choose Nash equilibrium strategies.

why do so many guys--regardless of what they look like--think getting a "hot" woman is so freakin' important? Grow up.
I hear ya on that... although if someone is curious about it (it should be common sense), that's alright... but if a guy's whining about it, then he's a moron. A guy aiming for "hot chicks only" or a feeling of a loss because he can't get a HOT chick, does need to grow up.
BUT, I think with about 95% of guys out there, if they make the best of their looks & personality, and aren't afraid of rejection, in the end, he could get a "hot" chick.
Although, usually when an average guy or girl is with someone who is HOT, many times there's a few red flags laying around that reveals WHY the hot one "settled". | |

The answer is so obvious you would trip on it if it were laying on a staircase.
Average men who worry about good-looking women are hypocrites because it means they bypass average looking women based on: their looks.
And it is also a stereotype--I date average looking men and man, I'm hot! (Evil grin.) | |

I think that most hot girls do give a chance to an average looking guy because he may have more going for himself than the hot guy that she has dated. I consider myself an average looking guy but I have had hot women consider me as "hot" and sometimes what one woman considers hot may not be what another woman considers hot. I don't brag or walk around thinking that I am all that I keep a very humble approach when thinking of myself. I think hot is more defined by me as to what is on the inside rather than what is on the outside although the physical is important as well. Beauty fades with age because you are not going to look like some hot supermodel when you are in your 50s or 60s unless you have had a lot of plastic surgery like Cher or Liz Taylor. | |

Women arent really as picky about looks as men are, and some women prefer to be with men who arent that great looking for control..
Alot of women cannot handle being with a guy whos confident and good looking..... which to me just shows insecurity!

If I'm out with a guy who I consider hot, and he ends up having a personality trait that I can't stand..I'm done with him. Good looks aren't worth having to put up with someone's bad attitude to me. Just my opinion. Some of the guys I've been really into might have been considered average or a LITTLE above to most, but they had an awesome sense of humor or we just hit it off in general. | |

Posted: 11/7/2009 9:58:10 AM | I totally agree that the term "hot" encompasses the total package of an individual, they could be "average looking to plain janes" though men who are secure in themselves will not judge anyone by "looks" and enjoy in the moment with a particular individual.
My experience has been that men also don't know what they want, whats the saying you keep look at the same package just a different brand on the outside but the same on the inside. With that, I believe that men and women need to do some inner quality work on themselves if they want "quality relationships" and not pass up that individual who sparked your intrigue for that brief moment of connection.

That's not true at all. It totally depends on the circumstances.
If I'm in a situation where I'm working with or are somehow otherwise in close social proximity to a woman who is nice but not what I would consider terribly attractive, then I might find myself liking her and decide to date her.
However, if it's a woman I don't know at all, i.e. online dating, someone I just run into in public, etc., and I don't find her physically attractive, there's no way in hell I'm dating her. If I don't know for a fact that there's another reason to date her, then I wouldn't even try.
There's no reason to lower my standards just because I'm "secure in myself." Your comment was only a back-handed way of insulting men who have looks requirements for getting to know someone they otherwise would have no reason to get to know. | |

Good looking babe will tell it to your face, because she has nothing to fear. And won't even remember your face 10 minutes later.

I've had a few experiences with very hot on the outside, very ugly on the inside. As soon as I see that nature, she's gone. For me, a woman needs to be beautiful on the outside AND the inside.
Ugly chick will hold it inside... keep it trapped.... And believe me you don't want to be around when she starts to puke that anger ....
