| Single dads still attractive? Posted: 6/5/2007 2:10:25 PM | /\/\/\ Come see us on the recipes side of the forums.....recipes galore. Dont ask me why but my child is strange that way..... He much rather quality food over quick stuff. So dinner tonight will be BBQ's pork tenderloin, scalloped potatoes and peaches and cream corn. He picked out the tenderloin himself.......and yes he is 2.
I rather have a nice meal in and curl up to watch a movie, talk, or even have adult fun than hit a pub. If I want a drink I can make something easily enough. Being a single parent is hard work. 24./7 As a parent your responsible for the health and well being of a little person. sometimes one must make sacrafices and if it means your date gets pissy about needing to feed a child, or do things with a child they arent worth your time of day.

| Single dads still attractive? Posted: 6/5/2007 3:38:43 PM | | Hey, same with men, some women just don't want the extra "baggage" to deal with. Personally it makes no difference to me as I love children. You however want someone who likes kids, as you have one. So please don't have an intererst in someone who doesn't have an interest in children. | |

| Single dads still attractive? Posted: 6/5/2007 8:58:55 PM | Single Dad,s are just as atractive as us single moms. Even though mine arent children anymore, thank God. But in this day and age single, or in my case widiwed, we are what we make ourselves feel, and yes how we take care of ourselves. Besides losing my husband , I lost my confadence. But now I think and feel I do look better then when my husband was alive, Guess , I took alot for granted then, but I wont go back to looking and acting and most of all taking life, and even love for granted anymore, exspecialy if I,m ever lucky to find it again. | Single dads still attractive? Posted: 6/5/2007 10:41:25 PM | Wow alot of different apionions.. But i am also fighting the fact, that cauz me being a single dad and fair looking i still caint find a date, i know we spend alot of time 4-wheeling and snowmobiling, but good griff, their has to be a gal who like to come along, and also take us to do what she likes.
I not too good at the girl stuff, and like to have help doing it you know shopping and stuff..
i did apreciate all the gals who posted about "like dating guys with kids, cauz they are a bit different thinking, It's hard to play Mom and Dad, and it's hard to be a Dad without your children also.

| Single dads still attractive? Posted: 6/6/2007 1:14:48 AM | I have to say yes of course, cause me being a single mom with a baby boy on the way, i often wondered if guys thinks single moms are still attractive! But I totally agree on what you are saying, and honeslty say that i feel the same way. you will meet that someone, and when you do, you will know if they are the one especially the way they treat your son, or if they have children of there own. I have to say that it's a great feeling to know that I am not the only one who thinks about this all the time. Just keep thinking positive, you'll meet that someone.

| Single dads still attractive? Posted: 6/6/2007 8:18:09 AM | Awesome post at the beginning of this thread (sorry, I forgot the poster) on how one who complains of not being able to find a date is not likely to get one that way, lol.
Be confident, state who you are and you're possibly interested in someone like you. No offense, but pity posts from men or women have more red flags than Tiananmen Square, lol.
I'm a single dad, and a big overgrown kid at times, I enjoy others company, but when I'm alone I'm not lonely. I don't mind my solitude, nor do I feel sorry for myself or my living situation.
Have fun with your kids, jump in the fountain with them, pick up a can of silly string and blast them with it while you're in line at the movie theatre, build a sand castle at the beach, chase them around the yard with a water hose, try to nail them with the Nerf rocket launcher as they pass you on their scooters at the park.
Live! Eventually you'll find what you seek, or, stop looking and be comfortable with yourself. Don't look to a partner to *complete* you, you're on your own for that.
Didn't mean to be preachy or direct that at anyone in particular. Hopefully my comments will be taken in the manner they're intended to be.

| Single dads still attractive? Posted: 6/6/2007 9:34:10 AM | I find men who are raising their children to be very attractive! It shows that their priorities are in the right place and that they are potentially loving and caring mates.

| Single dads still attractive? Posted: 6/6/2007 12:18:46 PM | Hi,
I am now seeing a guy who has his children living with him.....and it does not put me off at all...In fact I felt safer and happier starting a relationship with this guy for that reason.
I have kids myself so it can get difficult to see each other, and we have only been out kidfree twice now in the 3 months we have been dating,....but it's worth it.
If a woman doesn't like the idea of you having a child living with you, then quite frankly you are better off without...as we all come as a package when we have children.
I wouldn't have considered dating a guy who had not had any children for instance.
Your 'she' will be out there, you just have to be patient
Good luck! | |

| Single dads still attractive? Posted: 6/6/2007 3:53:05 PM | Well my daughter doesnt live with but she is with me alot. I take a very active role in her life and after 5 years of dating on and off I am still single. So what is my problem then. I must be ugly. | |

| Single dads still attractive? Posted: 6/6/2007 5:39:02 PM | Cute son!
Just keep looking. You may find someone with a child of their own at home. I have the same reaction and my son is a SR in HS and will be in college in a year.
Soooo the same applies to guys as ladies. But sometimes I think guys with kids are really just looking for a mother to step in and take over that part of the relationship. May just have to be careful on what you say.

| Single dads still attractive? Posted: 6/6/2007 11:10:00 PM | I'm a single father and my daughter will always come first before my own desires and needs. If a woman can not handle the situation that we (fathers) are taking responsibility , and stepping up to the plate that many dead-beat dads do not do (single mothers can agree), then we don't belong together. It's your lost because some of us single fathers are awesome.
Salute to all single dads and moms

| Single dads still attractive? Posted: 6/7/2007 12:12:08 AM | Single dad's are attractive... That show's how responsilble they are, caring and being a family man.... | Single dads still attractive? Posted: 6/7/2007 12:36:33 AM | | I for one dont have an issue with it. But in saying this i would like to build the friendship between my self and the other person befor meeting the child. i would't want to put the child in the midst of what may or may not happen. parents need to be happy but there childern need to be there soul concern. | |

| Single dads still attractive? Posted: 6/8/2007 5:40:42 AM | Having a child is a huge responsibility. Entering in to a relationship with someone who has a child can be overwhelming and a responsibility many may not want to take on. Put yourself in the place of the people you are trying to figure out. I have a teenager and totally understand why a man without a child would shy away from me. It's a different lifestyle, with different priorities.
Just be honest and things will work out the way they should.

| Single dads still attractive? Posted: 6/8/2007 7:50:47 AM | i have no problems dating men with children as a matter fact, i have dated some. but it didnt work out. I am very much family orientated and i believe in family values. My problem was, these men put their own needs first before their children, now even i know its not acceptable. I may not have children but i do have 39 nieces and nephews and 10 great neices and nephews and i work for the school board, so i am with children all the time to know they are demanding an need stability and boundaries with morals an values to become loving adults. I am a great role model cause they rely on others to help them grow up too. Sure he said i was great to their kids and their kids loved me...he was never round. Eventually, the kids were asking were daddy was? (my question was where is the mother, never seen or heard of her) I can not ever replace their mother for they have one already, but to be their friend was all i wanted. this daddy didnt want to put his toys away or his friends that were over everday drinking and give more attention to his kids. Raise them then have his time. Step parenting isnt easy it can be over whelming but it can be done with both working together at it...not against one another. children are a joy an priceless but many seem to think theyre a burden ...how sad.
hats off to all you single parents out there....i truly believe its not easy but in the end its well rewarding.

| absolutely!!! Posted: 6/8/2007 8:54:33 AM | I guess it would all depend on what your looking for in a woman, if you want someone who has no children then I suppose that a single childless female may worry about having to share your attention. But do you really want someone like that anyway??? Personally I feel that men with children, especially those raising their children(if you never see them, this doesnt apply to you) are far more attractive! I would want someone who knows how to take care of children and respects the parental boundry that most childless men dont get. for example, my daughter has a father, im not looking to replace him. Much like I would never try and replace or act on the same level to a child as their birth mother if she was involved in their life. People who have been in long term relationships or have previously been married are also far more attractive because they understand comprimise and the way relationships work and tend to know what they want out of their next relationship more than a man with more limited experience. So to answer your question shortly and sweetly, yes.. being a single is an attractive quality..... no worries | |

| Single dads still attractive? Posted: 6/8/2007 10:00:32 PM | | WOW NOT TO SOUND TOO HARSH, BUT WHAT KIND OF WOMAN ARE YOU DATING???? IM A SINGLE MOM MYSELF AND I HAVE DATED MEN WHO HAD AND DIDNT HAVE CHILDREN. I THINK THE MEN WHO HAD CHILDREN WHERE GENERALLY MORE ATTENTIVE AND RESONSIBLE PEOPLE. I THINK THE PROBLEM HERE IS THAT YOU NEED TO LOOK AT THE WOMAN'S OVERALL PERSONALLITY. IF SHE IS A CONFIDENT, STRONG, "REAL" WOMAN SHE WILL NOT SEE YOUR SON AS A THREAT BUT AS A BLESSING TO HER. BE CAREFUL WHO YOU ALLOW TO MEET YOUR CHILD. AND NEVER EVER BE ASHAMED OF BEING A SINGLE PARENT. BEING A PARENT IS ONE OF LIFE'S GREATEST GIFTS, AND A REAL WOMAN WILL BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO SHARE IN THAT. | |
