being alone on Christmas morning does suck...
I don't think the world is unfair to me... I WAS THE ONE THAT MADE THE CHOICE TO LEAVE !!!!! yes, being alone on Christmas does suck.
But, when a person has made the choice to leave a long-term relationship, aren't they leaving it, knowing that spending the next Christmas alone, will be a consequence of their choice to leave?
I'll feel very sympathetic for a widow or widower spending their first Christmas alone.
But for someone who's made their own choice to leave a relationship: I'm sorry, I see no need to offer sympathy.
You suggested that it was your first Christmas in years without a "special someone"? If this someone was special, why leave?
"Special someone" is a term that most people use to refer to the person we plan to spend the rest of our lives with. Not the person we plan to leave.
On the other hand:if the person wasn't that special, and you felt justified in leaving, shouldn't the first Christmas being free of that person, be welcomed?
I miss my children and grandchildren waking me up with hugs, and kisses or the jumping on the bed with the announcement that Santa's been here!!! I will say that I'm sorry to learn that you missed your children and grandchildren this holiday season.
But.....
I have no idea what the feeling, of children and/or grandchildren waking me up, is like. Perhaps fate did not intend for some of us to know this feeling?
Does that mean that those of us who haven't experienced such a feeling, should be overly sympathetic to those who have known that feeling? | |

Christmas is definately more extravagant with children around, however seeing the joy through a child's eyes is priceless. Perhaps fate has more in store for you than you realize?
You should never offer any kind of untrue or dishonest feeling to anyone! I think that empathetic may be a choice feeling, but I don't think that anyone should offer any false feelings of themself EVER! 'To thine own self be true' 'Do unto others as you would have done to you'   | |

The nice thing about being single is
I can have my cake and eat it too, since nobody else will.
I can take my time in the bathroom and not get rushed.........WILL YOU HURRY UP......YOU KNOW IT TAKES ME A WHILE TO GET READY!
Not having to run to the store for tampons when it's the 4th quarter, 2 minute warning and the Steelers Ball.
I can come home late, early, whenever, and not have to fill out a survey and mail it in on why I wasn't on time.
I can leave to go to Home Depot and not have to have an approval slip signed here, here, here, and here, and 5 references.
Wait a minute! I'm not single, I'm SPOILED!!!

Move to korea, where many toilets don't HAVE seats. Ends the arguements of seat up or seat down! | |

Posted: 1/14/2007 3:34:45 PM | I'm still working on patenting the time release hydraulic seat system.
For those of us guys that might forget to put the seat back down, this will end the sleepless nights on the couch. The seat will remain up as long as us guys need it be, and in a set amount of time, it will gently get put back down for the lady of the house.
The other idea is one of those foot pedal things like the garbage cans have. Step on the pedal to raise the seat. When we're done, and step off the pedal or bar, the seat lowers.
Another fantastic, no more nights on the couch idea. | |
