In the days of the poll tax (very unpopular tax in the UK, cause of riots it was so unpopular) the local tax collector where I live was called Richard Head.
A postman friend of mine once had a woman on his rounds called Mrs. V. D. Case.
I used to deliver Western Union Cablegrams and once had a delivery to someone with an oriental name Yeuw Phuquey, turned out to be a girl living in a nunery in Hampstead. Good job I didn't have to ask one of the nuns for her by name. | |
