Posted: 2/15/2007 8:24:05 AM | Hello ALL. I am new to this site. I had a few friends tell me about it and so a few days ago signed up.
My name is Brek and I am in pitt meadows. Grew up in this area (maple ridge) most of my life.
Looking forward to meeting people from here. There are a lot of social events I have found through the forums. Gathering in POCO this weekend......St. Paddys day at shooters next month...even a golf tourney in may......boy my social calendar is going to fill up fast.
Anyway like I said I am looking forward to meeting a lot of you on here and who knows. Maybe I will even find a fish who wants to swim the same stream as me

I love the outdoors and love spending time with my friends and family but also enjoy my "own" Time. I am a bit of a science nut and I am taking environmental sciences at Kwantlen University College. What a better place then BC for that? Been in a relationship for almost 7 years but that ended about 10 months ago. I am here to meet someone who has the same sort of interests as me as well as likes someone who can respect someone who is a bit shy and quiet. I love the outdoors, love animals and have strong values. Been on POF since last year but i am very new to posting on forums... LIL shy about it. But todays the day i guess ..LOL..They are great to read and very entertaining to !
I have been in Penticton for a few years but really don't know that many folks, my real good friends have all moved away from here now..and my daughters are grown & moved on.They & my family are scattered all over B.C. & the U.S., so i do a lot of riding my MC in summer & fall to go visit them all..
I was wondering if folks have ever or are going to be holding any POF gatherings/events here in the South Okanagan/Penticton area? I see from the profiles there is quite a few members from this area..I know they have events up in Kelowna & Vernon but i hardly ever get up that way..
Anyhow i'll keep checking the forums to see... It's a pleasure to meet this incredibly HUGE POF family....TY.... Blue | |

Posted: 2/18/2007 7:52:57 PM | Yep you did it right moonspawnn! Welcome everyone to POF. Most of us did originate in Ontario and eventually got wise and escaped the snow. I was born in Ontario, raised in Winnipeg, lived for 15 years in Edmonton and now choose when I go venture and play in the snow. Like today ... the POF Snowshowing tour at Cypress was loads of fun and we couldn't have asked for better weather.
You'll find the POF pond is what you make of it and part of the fun is getting involved in the forums and then stepping away from your computer and actually attending an event.

It's hard to capture who you are in a profile - even an essence of who I am is sometimes hard to catch. I love those who keep it real and seem to be able to catch the reader and leave him/her wnating more.
OK so, here's my gripe - in the body type section - one has the option of 'slim' 'average' 'a few extra pounds' or 'BBW'. A few pounds, to me, consists of 10 or 15 pounds overweight. What if you're a few more? BBW seems to me to be perceived as 'huge' or 'corpulent'.....what happened to 'rubenesque' as an option????
O well - we all know what we want and what types we are drawn to.
