Hi there. My name is Patricia, and I'm a total newbie to the dating world. I'm a 35 year old Surrey woman of the Wiccan faith (I classify myself as a Celtic Wiccan due to my mixed Irish/Scottish ancestory, and my love of Celtic music and art). I currently live in a communal group home for women with mental illness (I have clinical depression, generalized anxiety disorder and, unfortunately, social anxiety disorder. Hope I didn't scare anyone off by admitting that). I am looking to get into the dating game, but I don't have a whole lot of self-confidence when it comes to guys (if anyone has advice on that matter, I'd love to hear it). Hello to everyone out there!

Hey all

I'm MacadamiaNut......a) because they are my favorite sort of nut and b) because I can be a bit of a nut at times. Just moved back to the Lower Mainland from Toronto and very happy to be back. I'm also a BBW. Anyway, just wanted to say "Hey"!

Well, after lurking for a number of years, I have taken that step and signed up.

I live in the Lower Mainland with my 1 human child - oops, she is an adult now, 3 furries and a budgie. I work as an Office Manager for a Rehab Company - it is my ideal job - no bosses in the office - just me!!!

I spend a lot time reading birth, marriage, old Census records, death records and walking in cemeteries as I am a genealogist but I have been told it is time to learn about the present more - a strange thing to think about.

Can't think about anything else I should say except I Starbucks!

Greetings fellow fishes in the pond, Tyeee here.

I jumped in the pond last year and have been known to make the odd wee ripple in the forums already too, so thought it is high time I introduce myself.

I hail from northern British Columbia, a town which no longer exists, but now have taken root in Powell River, a gem of a place to live.

I'm an enthusiast of the card game Cinch and am always on the lookout for new recruits to join our merry group of Cinch players. Chances are you never heard of the game. I hadn't either until about 3 years ago, and I didn't have much prior card-playing experience, but Cinch has proven to the best card game I've ever learned.

It is also a great social game, especially when you get up to 24 people together for a match.

For the rest of the story you'll have to view my profile, a work in progress, just like me.

Tyeee

Hi, my name is Gene. I live in Williams Lake, and I am a ABE - Basic Adult Ed Teacher, on a reserve outside of town.
I am looking to meet someone from here or down south toward Kamloops or Vancouver. Winter is definitely for real
up here, as I have learned!
On a first date I can tell you the 'color' of your name, and go from there.javascript:smilie('')

Hi! My name is Judy.

Born in a very small town, Vermilion, North of Edmonton. Few have heard of it, I’m sure.

I have lived in BC for 39 years and 28 of those years have been in N Delta.

I joined POF because all of my friends were married and I needed to have a new circle of friends who shared a common factor. Being single.

I found that getting out to the events, “jumping into the water” was the best thing I could have done for myself, as I have met many wonderful people from this system. Those of you that are just thinking about going to the events please do yourself a favour and stop thinking about it and JUST DO IT! And if you don’t have someone to go with, don’t worry, you just let the host/co-host know and they will introduce you to others. If you like people, enjoy dancing, pool…whatever and tired of looking at the walls, then ask yourself, “What is the worse thing that can happen?”
And remember … Nothing ventured, nothing gained!

The forums like others say, can be very entertaining but we don’t want to become “mouse potatoes. “

Good luck to all of you and I hope meet more newbies.

Hello, my name is Wayne and I have been a fish for about a month and a half. I just started attending POF events a couple of weeks ago. Mosquito Creek, wings night at Guilford Station, pool at Clancy's and March Hair at Sawbucks, WOW, what a great time. I've met some wonderful people, one in particular, and have had a great time. They are definitely worth going to. So all of you other newbies out, stop being shy and come join us. It is worth the effort. Even if you have to attend by yourself, the hosts and hostesses will gladly introduce you around. You won't be sorry, I know that I'm not. I was scared as hell the first time, but that soon passed and now I go to every event that I can make time for. Remember, we are all here for the same reason, to meet new friends and have a social life with like minded people.

I've been on POF for a few months & just stumbled upon this Introduction forum. Who knew, eh? I'm a divorced mom of two college boys in the Coquitlam area looking for someone who is easy-going enough to tolerate & share my trashy sense of humour, playful spirit, intense passion, spirituality & personal interests. I've spent most of my life in long-term relationships & a 15-year marriage & am hoping to find a 40-sumthin' guy who truly believes in unconditional love, monogamy & living happily ever after 'til death do us part. I'm getting tired of kissing frogs who don't turn into princes ... is there one out there who will? Hurry up & make your grand entrance into my life already, will ya?

I do try to respond to all messages from those who take the time to read my lengthy profile & write to me, so if something catches your interest, please don't pass me by ... let me know. Don't feel shy, intimidated or whatever 'cause I'm really easy-going, down-to-earth & I don't bite. Hmm ... not true ... actually I DO bite but just playfully ... well, there WAS this one time .....

To the guys who send me introductory messages like "I think you're really beautiful & would like to meet you; by the way, what size are your breasts anyway?" Dude, get with the program! If you actually bothered to read my profile, you'd know that I am so NOT looking for a guy like you who only cares about my packaging. Seriously!

I'm looking for great communication, looooove, loads of snuggles, hand-holding & all that mushy quality relationship stuff. I'm not into chatting online forever so let's have a couple of chats & meet up to see if any sparks ignite. Be prepared for a pop quiz on my profile.
Oh relax ... I'm just kidding! Talk to ya soon!

Hey, how you guys and gals doin'? My name is Dave.

I came here to POF because I got tired of the other site with the computers pretending to be different women and e-mailing me different hacked-together bot-speak versions of the same message.

I can get wordy sometimes. You might find yourself skipping over me sometimes.

Well, that's about it. See you all out there!
