...I'm a little more concern with telling a few of my relatives and friends that I'm "still" on here. I think my immediate family have knda given up on me ever finding someone. Welcome to the club I say

Not a bit. My son told me to use the picture of me with my Grandsons cause I am a fun Grandma . My pastor promotes innernet dateing from the pulpit. I feel like what I put on my profile is true and what I say in the forums I would say anywhere else so I don't give it a second thought.

LOL. My son took the pictures for me. He even checks out the profiles of those I say I'm interested in. I got my sister signed up on a couple sites and she is having a blast. I don't care who knows. At least I'm proactive in dealing with a difficult situation.

lol, my family would prefer if i go on paid sites instead when using pof for free, at least people there are tend to be more serious looking for ltr which doesn't make a difference to me.

Some know.......they make fun of me. They think I should get out and meet real people. I told them this is much more fun. I have been asked to have three some's, group sex, been stalked, thrown up on, told me their gay, asked me to move into their travel trailer.......and dumped for two, three hundred pound women. The regular every day people.......they ain't even this fun. My Daughter loves it. She laughs every time I go on my fun and exciting journey........Besides its fun embarrassing myself and its more fun to embarrass them.......to think their poor Mother, Daughter, Sister can't get a real live date...........Smiles

I live in an area with a lot of divorced women, and I would be a bit worried if they knew I was on the site. They are darn predatory, and I prefer to keep my sex life distinct from my neighbourhood relationships....javascript:smilie('')

We must have some very similar threads around here (shocking... I know ) cuz I coulda swore I answered this about a year ago.
Some family/friends might freak to learn I'm STILL on the site after having met a great guy. You know what they say -- it's like crack! Not the guy (altho he is ). The forums.
BTW, when folks comment on how well my fella and I compliment each other and ask how we met, we're proud to say "On line!"

Not in the least. Not that it's any of their business anyway, but highly unlikely that they'd care if they knew. We don't even worry or care about them finding our old profile on a swinger site - if they do, they'd have to be on it too, after all! Just the same, we don't post readily identifying information or photos anywhere online.

As a grown adult, responsible for myself, I could give a royal rat's rip what other people think of my being on this site.

At my former job, the b-itches would get together and go on dating sites LQQKING for people in the company, or anyone for that matter, just to make fun of them, cut them down, etc.

How pathetically sophomoric. Nobody I would have much respect for anyhow, nor anybody who would give them the attention they seek.

I've said it so many times: It's just a tool to expand your social network and possibilities. It's no more or less safe than meeting a stranger anywhere else.

If someone asks me me I tell them I have profiles up on internet dating sites. I run into the profiles of women I know all the time. It is no big deal and no big secret. My friends and family also know I go out to meet women the old fashioned way, too.

Are you worried about family and friends knowing you are on this site?

Heavens no ... I'm proud of it and my family enjoys hearing about my adventures. But then, I've hosted several POF parties and even made several cross-country trips to meet friends I've met here on POF. Some are like family to me.

Are you really worried about family and friends knowing you are on this site?
No, but they worry about me. The internet is an a very big unknown and some just very uncomfortable with it. I appreciate their concern. Others in my life
are totally in on the fun and that's good too.

are you embarrassed that you are using a dating site

Nah, everyone knows I'm online dating. It's not a secret. My kids started out making fun of me but now they (like the rest of my friends and family) are supportive. Besides, this provides for some very interesting conversations at family gatherings
