| the nicest thing someone has ever said to you Posted: 12/19/2005 2:30:22 PM | That I'm "well hung for a 15 yr old".
/edit I should add that I was 15 when I heard this. This wasn't last week, thank God. No wait, I take that back. I wouldn't mind hearing it if it means I would've been having sex again. Would be weird to tell a 30 yr old that, but o well.

| the nicest thing someone has ever said to you Posted: 12/19/2005 7:04:57 PM | I was once told by a friend of mine that I was the nicest person she ever knew.
I have been called handsome by people who weren't related to me before, too.

| the nicest thing someone has ever said to you Posted: 5/22/2006 8:49:49 AM | | I think one of the nicest things said to me was " Wow you are looking good" This person saw me talking to my sis yesterday. The 56 pounds lost and everything caused him to do a double take. Another nice thing said was here "We continue to love you too" caused me to cry. You are a great group of people. | |

| the nicest thing someone has ever said to you Posted: 5/22/2006 11:05:00 AM | I, like everybody else on earth, have moments of insecurity. I was feeling a bit down on myself one day recently. That afternoon, I was having a conversation with my fishie....he said the sweetest thing to me, totally out of the blue. He said, "You are perfect for me."
My heart just melted. | |

| the nicest thing someone has ever said to you Posted: 5/23/2006 8:06:10 PM | Family wise:
Over heard my father telling someone on the phone, "My daughter is my best friend...."
My mother and I talking about sex etc. "You will make a good mother, when the time is right for you!"
Relationship wise:
He said: "Without you, there is no me......you complete me!"
The Ex said: "Face it, I will always be in your life, we are soulmates and you can't get rid of me that easily. I know you went off and did your thing but I'm gonna wait for as long as it takes to make your realize that it's me and you. I know I messed up and I know that you always waited for me. You are the one person in my life who always came through for me and I'm gonna take till I die to prove that to you! I just want you to be happy so I'll stay in the shadows for now, but I'm not going anywhere!"
I bawled like a baby when he said that to me
Friends wise:
My friend just came out to me about his homosexuality, "I knew out of everyone I told you'd be the only one who would understand me and not judge me....thank you!"
A second friend came out of the closet, "God bless you Dee, I really struggled with this and now half the people I know hate me for it, but I always knew you would support me because you are accepting of everyone that's how God made you and that's why I love you....."
That got me kinda teary eyed also.

| the nicest thing someone has ever said to you Posted: 5/24/2006 12:16:22 AM | | I was about 8 yrs. old, and I was cast to be an angel in a "The story of Jesus" play! Both of my older brothers were in it too, but they were shepards! Of course, being the youngest, I wanted to be a shepard just like my big bros. I told the teacher/director of the play about my desire to change parts before we even began to rehearse. She simply looked at me and said, "I think that you would make a much better Angel than you ever would a shepard." I didn't realize it at the time, and even though it may sound wimpy, to this day... I consider that to be the greatest compliment I ever got....... | |

| the nicest thing someone has ever said to you Posted: 6/19/2006 3:35:02 AM | I rarely talk about some of the charitable/ community activities that I take part in, but it came up in a conversation one day... Mainly because the girl I was talking to was trying to do a fundraiser, and two different people in 2 different organizations told her, "You should really go talk to this guy." Well, we had known each other for quite a while, so it surprised her when the strangers she was talking to sent her to someone she alread knew. The charity workl that I do has always just been one of those private, happy things that I always kept to myself. (I never saw a need to brag about it- I just did it for the satisfaction.)
Anyway... during the course of our conversation, I was helping her with some contacts at various places, etc. After realizing what a "private" little part of my life she had discovered, and realizing how much I actually did without telling anyone, she told me, "You are an extraordinary person." I've never forgotten hearing her voice say that, because it just sounded so genuine. Four years later, she died of Leukemia. It is my fondest memory.

| the nicest thing someone has ever said to you Posted: 6/19/2006 8:32:01 AM | Once I was scheduled to take a brief canoe trip (just a half day's float) with some longtime family friends I hadn't seen much of in years.
When I arrived for the outing, we had some introductions and chatted/visited a little. I met Laura, who was then maybe four or five years old. Laura was painfully shy and they told me not to worry, she never talked to anyone, including her own family, so don't think anything of it that she wouldn't talk to me either (they assumed).
Rather than focus on her, and make her more self-concious, I patted their big old yellow dog named Bo for a little bit, and Laura patted Bo, too. I made a few casual, offhand comments about the dog without ever looking at Laura. And still without so much as a glance her way, I asked, "Who's older, Bo or you?"
Laura told me their ages. We got in the car to go to the river for the canoes, and Laura sat between me and her sister, and talked/chattered non-stop the whole way, practically singing. On the way down, her fifteen year old sister Susan laughed and smiled in wonder, and looked at me and said, "Laura has never said so much as a single word to ANYONE. And now that she's spent several minutes with you, she hasn't stopped talking yet!"

| the nicest thing someone has ever said to you Posted: 6/19/2006 10:19:44 AM | | Nicest thing ever said to me was by my 14 year old son he told me as tears ran down my face "Mom, you're the best mom and don't let anyone tell you different. You love us, we love you and that's all that matters" and it is. | |
