eek have you seen what mail order husbands look like?? http://www.mailorderhusbands.net/order/ So what? have you seen some of the women here at POF who think they're hot?
Anyway, I wouldn't call them "mail order husbands/brides", because it would imply that you buy the person. And that is not true. What you buy from those services is an address or a means of contact, and you go from there. Not different to pay sites such as yahoo personals, friend finder or similar.
I have some experience in this, because I was called a couple of times to serve as intermediary between some American guy and his Colombian would-be-bride. And I never saw a Colombian guy wanting to marry an American woman.

| Ever seen a mail order husband? Posted: 5/25/2006 3:54:42 PM | | squirrly, you asked why there are any single women on dating sites? After I said almost any woman can get a man, but not every man can get a woman. That's because most women are looking for a fantasy, the perfect man that does not exist. Most women will not settle for anything less. The fact is that there are a lot more men on these dating sites than women. I'm not a perfect man that's why I'm available again, and like most men I'm not looking for perfection. | |

| Ever seen a mail order husband? Posted: 5/25/2006 4:19:56 PM | first of all...yes that website IS a joke. Funny how there are quite a few "for real" mail order brides but no real husband sites?
annnnyway, Justice4all, I can only speak for myself and a few women that I know on this website and none of us are looking for a fantasy. We are intelligent people who understand that we all have our imperfections.
If you want I can turn the tables and stereotype too...maybe men my age are looking for women much younger with a model figure...hence the reason they buy girls from third world countries? See? Stereotypes and generalizations suck...don't they? LOL

| Ever seen a mail order husband? Posted: 5/26/2006 10:06:46 AM | $10,000 Carrie? Is that Canadian or American?
The closest I ever came was when I ordered that blowup doll. That came by mail....
But if you think about it, if a man moves 2500 miles to be with a woman, isn't that pretty much an e-mail order husband?
I had someone move across the country to be with me. The problem there is that when she turned out to have at least 7 personalities and all I wanted was for her to take her 6 friends and leave, here I was responsible for her moving here and then couldn't very well strand her. It worked out when she found another sucker to take her in and pay her way, but it put me in a terrible position.

| Ever seen a mail order husband? Posted: 5/26/2006 3:37:20 PM | *laughs* American women, and Western women have a bad rep as being high-maintenance. Plus if you believe all the self-flaggelation that liberal women spread about Americans in general (and how much that b.s. gets recycled overseas in the xenophobic foreign press) you can see how little in demand American women are overseas.
And are there mail-order husband services? Yes, in fact AlaskaMen has been running a long, long time.

Why should they? There is no difference between using matchdotcom to meet somebody in the US, or using some foreign service to find somebody in other country. If you don't find what you want here, you simply look elsewhere. As some people say, don't settle.
