for those of you who dont make it into a chair for the speed dating we will be doing some fun stuff in the concourse for you while the others have speed dated .. keep in mind -- if you havent preregistered im not guaranteeing you a seat
you had to of preregistered and i dont want to hear that you didnt hear about it because that would be impossible

Im going back to my amazing volunteers now sitting in my office and cutting your nametags / photocopying/ putting together prizes ... man are they working hard !~!!

Don't sweat the smell stuff and don't smell the sweat stuff.
P.S. I'd suggest that everybody should GO before they Go to the event. The Convention Centre is a massive modern brick building but the line-ups for the Loo might be a bit long especially if we all try to Go all at once during intermissions. LOL!
Actually it's a very nice big place. I've been there before for conventions and shows.
I'm looking forward to meeting all of you and performing my usual duties as the door guy and general anarchist.

P.S. Yes ladies I do talk but you may have to yell at me. I'm a bit deaf now (it comes from having two olders sisters who never stop talking all their lives) and I'm work alone much of the time so much now I forget that humans actually expect you to speak out loud to them.

Thank you soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much to leeann , my tiger , sara and kath for coming over to help out half the darn night ( Thank goodness leeann brought wine !!)

But keep in mind we will be using the washrooms on the 3rd floor so that we arent overcrowded -- there are tonssssssssssssssssssss there so the lineup shouldnt be all that bad
oh and who said anything about intermission ? LOLOLOLOL
I negotiated with the convention centre to give me some water -- FREE water -- LOL -- so we set up 4 water stations where you can get water for free -
also - you CAN NOT bring in any of your own anything so dont bring in any food or beverage of your own please .. There will be security at the front checking for this and everything else . As the convention centre is a unionized environtment we must obey their rules and this is one of them . Please be respectful to the security guards in attendance and do not bring in anything that is prohibited including any weapon of any kind ( no nail files ladies ) ( no pocket knives guys ) and no food or beverage -- there is plenty there --
mEN TRAVEL LIGHT AS Y OU WILL BE MOVING CHAIRS EVERY THREE MINUTES
OHHHHHHHHH AND IF YOU OWN A CLIPBOARD OR SOMETHING HARD TO WRITE ON I WOULD ADVISE YOU TO BRING IT .. SETTING UP THOUSANDS OF CHAIRS IN ONE ROOM TENDS TO MAKE IT HARD TO PUT TABLES IN ....
We will though be flipping the room at 10 pm for the afterparty where tables will be put out and chairs will be pushed back to make room for a 20 thousand sq foot dance floor -- dont worry lots of seating will be left --
If anyone has any questions now is the time to ask them as i will be leaving for the preparty by 6 pm
After that i will not be checking this forum or my emails until monday morning
This being said BIGFISH has approved me to start the picture thread now which i will be doing shortly with pics of the hall before you get there so you can see what your in for ... i will post remaining pics and a streaming video flow monday ...
After the event please post all comments on the picture thread .. TITLED " i survied the pof guinness bash ....... " this thread will be locked immediatly following the event so please dont post on here after saturday night -- go to the picture thread and post comments there !!!
OK im typewinded ...lol... off to do last minute stuff and i will check back today for any lst minute questions before i head off to the preparty !!!

Posted: 7/21/2006 6:38:02 AM | I really wanted to go , but as it seems I would have to leave real early to get the last bus home so I could go for the speed dating...but not the party I would have to get to the bus by 10:30pm. I would stay over night, but it's my sons birthday party on sunday and I've already changed the date in hopes to attend in Hamilton. What I needed was anyone from Toronto going to Hamilton that is planning on leaving after the party. I hope someone sees this and is able to help me...if I don't get to come for sure it will suck, but I will definetly look forward to attending any other event that POF throws. My fingers are crossed, heck I'll even cross my eyes if it helps | |

once you are in , ie - registered for the speed dating thing etc can you leave the building and come back again or because of the #'s are you committed to staying as long as you want until you want to leave?
Someone mentioned to me that they were planning to change clothes after the speed dating portion and before the after party , so I wondered, it didn't really cross my mind to change clothes but now I'm all curious , is she going to have to do a superwoman changearoo in the washroom type of thing? haha

Once speed dating is over as long as your handstamp is still on you can get back in so dont wash it off !!! If theres a lineup of people at that point you might have a little wait but we anticipate being able to fit everyone ( ok plus we need a half hour to "flip" the room to a dance hall )

there are over 30 000 spaces in the convention centre parking lot
its hugeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee its underground and its definatly got enough room
when you pull into summers land ( the place the convention centre centre is on ) when you pull to the end hang a left and the entrance is on your left
