Posted: 6/16/2006 3:12:24 PM | The speed dating portion of the evening will be complete by 10 pm -- we have to speed date a minimum of 3 and a half hours -- so we will speed date from 6 - 10 pm -- than the amazingggggggggggggggggg afterparty we have planned --
We will close the place out -- but the actual speed dating will be complete by 10 pm or shortly thereafter---

Sweet deal, thanks Chickiebabe. Actually I just realised that it's in JULY not June, so I'm gunna hafta attempt to get that day off, seeing as I work 'til 9pm that day :-o Hehe.

Posted: 6/16/2006 3:46:30 PM | Just a suggestion: You're using the PoF name, at a recognized establishment that sells recognized labels, NOW is a good time to find sponsors for the event.
Then again...I might be wrong...
The cost of a pen shouldn't even be a worry if you're promoting this event.
Hell, it's about dating, what other products or brand names are out there that want free promotion on their part.
Name Brand Drinks, Snacks, Pizza, Clothing, Music, Movies, Cell phones, Phone cards, PA devices, Computer companies (this is online dating!), Condoms, Personal Products, Cigarettes, *Cough Cough* Coffee, Dating places like Theatres, Restaurants, Activity places like bowling alleys, mini golf, paint ball. I'm sure there are more ideas that I'm not thinking about. If they aren't willing to add sponsorship, perhaps door prizes.
Dating singles probably spend more money than anyone in their pursuit of happiness, why not capitalize on it. A lot of companies would love to be associated with an event of this size.
I think it's a fun idea...just gotta find the sponsors to bring in more people.
I'm sure there are many people here who have connections...people who know people.
Might even look at bringing in some big news and communication people.
Mebbe I'm thinking too big...mebbe not.
Just a thought.

POF is about meeting and greeting new friends and potential life partners ..
On that note :
EVen though this event already has 4 major sponsors ( they are donating door prizes, and the such ) -- the cost of a normal speed dating event is 50 dollars -- the bar is charging a 6 dollar covercharge for their extra expenses. Myself , Ken , Chad and Tee are donating our time and expertise to this event ( im a speed dating co ordinator by day and an event manager by night, Ken as well is an events co ordintor ) for FREE so that we may watch everyone enjoy themselves.. for us its not about the money -- more about the pleasure and adventure that comes from something so great- --
WE have already gotten the entire press and media community involved and lots will be in attendance that night as well as running articles in papers magazines and tv and radio interviews.. dont worry .. its alllllllllll covered ..........
So although we appreciate your suggestion and insight --
THis POF party is alllllll about the fun fun fun ....
