I did not scroll through all the pages here, as I am at work...but when it comes to age groups, please do not put 45 and over all in one category...I am in that group and do not date any men older than 55 or so, in fact try to date 40-50 ish....so allow some flexibility, or let us state what category we want to be in. | |

I wish to emphasize that this wont be all about love connections .. you will meet people who will turn into potential friends. No you will not like every single person you sit with -- it is only 3 minutes..
The ages of 19-25 will be seperate and will be in the games room. Everyone else will be on the 2 floors. Ages 25 plus will all be together. NO a 25 year old will not more than likely date a 50 year old but again to reiterate... you will meet amazing people who you might possibly form friendships with . Each 3 minutes you will meet a new person and this will progress for 3 and a half hours. The now sheer volume of participants is absolutely exhilerating !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The support is overwhelming. All of us involved are incredibly humbled and thankful for the support from all parties involved. The sponsors involved are coming on at an amazing rate of speed . The POF people are amazing in their support and we are very excited about meeting every single one of you. POf is not only about to make history but many many lifelong friendships are being formed.

with a thousand people if we give breaks it will be pure chaos -- absolutely pure chaos and it will be pretty close to impossible to get everyone back in their chairs and ready to start speed dating again in less than the 10 mins we are allotted -- that being said
if you need to use the washroom or just cant live without a cigarette during the 3 and a half hours signal one of the guinness officials who will sit in your seat and fill in for you while you are away -- please try to be less than 7 minutes.
These are their rules not ours
In order to get the record we must adhere to their rules 100 percent if even one person breaks one rule we lose the record
IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT EACH PERSON IN ATTENDANCE IS ON THEIR BEST ADULT BEHAVIOUR DURING THE SPEED DATING PORTION OF THE EVENING. THE RULES AND INSTRUCTIONS WE GIVE YOU BEFORE IT STARTS ARE MANDATORY RULES TO FOLLOW . WHEN THE BELL RINGS FOR YOU TO MOVE ... MOVE !!! IF THE ROTATIONS ARE DONE INCORRECTLY WE LOSE , IF YOU SIT AND CHAT LONGER THAN YOU ARE ALLOWED , WE LOSE , IF YOU DECIDE TO UP AND LEAVE WITHOUT A GUINNESS OFFICIAL IN YOUR PLACE , WE LOSE . We did think about this beforehand and have a backup location in place and on standby for our instruction. This has ballooned so ginormous that it has surpassed anything we ever could have imagined. With the media from the weekend including non POF people and guests the total attendance number is now 2076.
We will instruct everyone via this forum and email where the new location will be as soon as we triple confirm it . Philthy Mcnasty's is and always will remain our major corporate sponsor of this event alongside pricedistribution.ca, beimpressed.ca, thehouseofcomedy.com and Kokanee Beer.
This is not only a POF party but history in the making. This has and will continue to bring many many new faces to POF and put this amazing community in the record books !!
Thank you to everyone who has signed up to date, told your friends , and sponsored and supported us .. we can not say enough thank you 's!!!! Especially to BIGFISH for his amazing involvement, support and constant communication... You my friend are about to become the number one dating site in the entire world !!!!!!

Posted: 6/19/2006 9:54:21 AM | Hey all - This is going to be huge and the thread is being viewed by 1000's per day! This will be the biggest event POF has ever seen. You can't miss this one! Kris and I are running around like chickens with our heads cut off expanding and trying to make this event the best POF and you all have ever seen or attended. So help us out and keep signing up and bring your friends too (you must email us to register non POF members as we have to have an exact total a few day before the event or just have your friends fill out a profile on POF and register themselves). We now have expanded the event and our limits so we have room for everyone that wants to attend. This will be the Event "NOT TO MISS!"
stillalicious - we will be serving during the event but, please keep in mind people will not be in the same seats when the server returns with the drink so they will do their best but please bear with them!
pewtercross - There currently is no record for the Largest event under one roof. We have been instructed by Guinness as to the criteria that we have to meet and the lowest limits that we can try the attempt with and have far exceeded that total. So as long as everyone follows the direction and Guinness Certifys the Attempt then we get the Record. Key point is everyone has to follow our directions completely. If one person doesn't we all loose the Record.

soakthesoul & sweetie pie 25 - as you can see the totals out grow any bar by at least double their size. As we expected a good responce we already had other venues lined up on standby. We will be informing everyone soon of the new location here in Burlington. Philthy McNasty's have requested and are staying on as a Major Sponsor of the event to say thanks for the business we already have given them.
*** There will be a Pre-Party at Philthy's on the Friday night to meet and ask questions of the Hosts and any final registrations (anyone not registered by the Friday night will not be able to participate). As there is a lot of people coming from out of town we hope you all come out and join us Friday night at Philthy's.
*** Sunday Brunch - Philthy McNasty's will be offering a Special POF Brunch on Sunday open to everyone. They will be giving away $2 off coupons at the event Saturday night. To get a coupon all you have to do is ask!
We will be posting all the new confirmed information and Hotel info. very soon so keep watching. We will also try to send an email to everyone registered giving the final info. and instructions.

Then I came up with the most opposite conclusion, its funny, great way to meet people, its entertaining and who knows just might pay off.
