| Hot Rox... Posted: 6/4/2006 12:43:38 AM | The reason I'm going to try it, isnt totally for the "fat burning", but more for the "energy" it is supposed to give. I bet you're asking "Werent you praising ephedrine earlier?" .... Yes I was.. BUT, my job involves a lot of heavy lifting, and in very hot temperatures, and ephedrine raises your body temperature, and I dont want to end up dropping dead at work, the lil' ol' lady wouldnt like that too much =)
I've tried a few of em, and the pure ephedrine was the only one thus far to actually give me a killer energy boost [of course - this was mixing it with an energy drink which was loaded with caffeine] =)
I'm hoping to have it delivered here by friday, so I'll probably do an intitial 3 day report, and then go weekly from there. If ephedrine didnt increase my body heat that much, I'd probably just stick with that. [Note: I did inquire about mixing ephedrine with Hot Rox - NOT recommended at all] =)
I'll keep peeps posted on it, and if you dont hear from me for like a week or two, I'm probably dead =) [Kidding!]

There are a numerous amount of epherdra free fat burners on the market now such as Lipo-6, or Hydroxycut. Both work great, really liked the Lipo-6 product found that i got the best results form it. Dont foregt to eat a sensible diet and exercise to get the results you want. Good luck
i tried Lipo-6, and couldn't sleep with only half the recommended dosage! same thing with another fat burner, it was called Tight!.
i would not recommend ANY fat burners, just plain old exercise and diet. my experience with them was too bad.

| What replaces ephedra? Posted: 6/5/2006 12:55:41 AM | Yikes ephedra, the stories i've heard about that one, and all the controversy that surrounds it.
My advice on this one is read the labels very carefully for any thermogenic product out there for ephedra or any of its bi-products. Anything ephedra based is known to heavily impare circulation throughout the body. With this, many problems can arise, sexual disfunction in both men and women have been noted in repeated cases.
Ephedra based products like some thermogenics do work as advertised. Unfortunately the makes of these products do not post the serious side-effects that go with it. To my knowledge there was a giant lawsuit against one of the manufacturers of these products, as they were not posting any warning labels on the side-effects.
If your looking for something that will give you a good yet safe energy boost, try caffenated green tea or to a lesser extent, red bull or monster drinks. Be careful with the energy drinks because they have tendency to knock down the immune system of taken regularly.
For those just looking to burn fat, drinking craploads of water is the best method, as most of us dont drink enough as is. One easy way to tell if your dehydrated is if you find yourself snacking or wanting to snack on salty foods or excessivly use salt. Apparently if one is hydrated, they will rarely want any salt.

| What replaces ephedra? Posted: 6/6/2006 2:47:45 PM | They've proven Ephedrine to be fairly safe to use SHORT TERM..
Those energy drinks I find useless unless I mix it with Ephedrine =) As for the "side effects" mentioned above - theres more to it than just the Ephedrine. People who drop dead, and end up with all these wonderful ailments are because they're misusing the product. Thats clear cut. The most common misuse is a) DEHYDRATION - You cant **** around when you're on this massive water intake is a MUST. B) Excessively taking. It tells you how many and for how long to take on the bottle for a reason. DO NOT TAKE MORE.
Reason I stopped taking it [as I said before - I think??] is that it was making my body temperature really high, and I work in temperatures [up to] 120+ degrees in the summer, and that was making things really shitty for me at work, so I stopped taking them and will be trying Hot Rox later this week when I get it delivered to me. I'll update people on it and give reviews on it w/ energy and "Fat burning"...[again - I stated that earlier too].
The two athletes that died from taking ephedrine related products [Korry Stringer - Football and Steve Belcher - Baseball] Were misusing the hell out of it. WHY?.. Korry Stringer needed to lose weight to be at an "ideal football weight"... Yeah, well. He didnt stay hydrated while on it and guess what happend. Next, Steve Belcher had about 5 different ailments including kidney and liver problems, which you're told not to use ephedrine if you do - thats his fault.
Everyone is different, and you should REALLY see a health professional [Jethro behind the desk at Spartan isnt a professional]
Now, back to forum surfing =)

| What replaces ephedra? Posted: 6/6/2006 5:37:27 PM | I have been buying the ephedrine with guafinesin.....25mg ephedra, 200mg guafinesin (I tried straight ephedrine, but gives me headaches, not sure why).....I love the feeling it gives me, but it has risen my blood pressure....from 120/70....to 140/90......I do find when I take it, I am not hungry, dont have the food cravings......I know with blood pressure rise I shouldnt be taking it, but I love it!!! I must be a druggie!!!! Vicky | |
|
| What replaces ephedra? Posted: 6/6/2006 5:49:48 PM | if it makes your blood pressure above normal, stop taking it! You're just playing with fire.
Mind you, I havent checked mine after I've taken it, but, theres a high chance it doesnt alter it that much, as nothing ever has given me any side effect like that =)
|
| What replaces ephedra? Posted: 6/6/2006 6:08:39 PM | Yeah I hear ya.......and I agree......I stop taking it for awhile, then find myself going back to it......I really do love it, but just like smoking, have been contemplating on them both. Vicky | |

| What replaces ephedra? Posted: 6/6/2006 6:19:34 PM | OH........and for those people that have mis-used ephedra and died is because, it does make your heart rate rise CONSIDERABLY.......and thats at a normal pace.......I know it makes my heart rate go from a normal 90 beats/min to 115/min.....can you imagine those that take it and do sports that would normally raise heart rate anyway????? Those people that died probably had it go up to 150/180 or more beats!!!!! I can see how that would kill someone!!! And Im not "condoning" the product, its just I would never want to take it if I had to do strenuous activity or want to take it while excersing. My doctor also told me it restricts your veins.....that is probably why some products add aspirin to thin blood. I do really know this isnt good for ya.....I just love the feeling, and how my hunger goes away.....I do need to get away from it seriously...... Vicky | |

| What replaces ephedra? Posted: 6/6/2006 8:04:10 PM | | High Blood pressure can give you headaches. Your heart is not something I would want to mess with. | |

| Hot Rox... Posted: 6/7/2006 7:43:11 AM | Oh wow they've banned it because people weren't using it correctly. It's of the utmost importance to read instructions and follow them.
Again in Canada you can either buy the ephedrine on its own which is legal. It's the ephedra sold premixed as a dietary loss supplement that has been banned. It can still be found in most health food stores if asked for it. It's hiding behind the counter.
Last I heard some judge in one of the States over ruled the ban. I could be wrong on this one.

| Hot Rox... Posted: 6/12/2006 8:20:41 PM | | As I said, I'd give updates on Hot Rox =)..... So, no, I have nothing to report other than I finally got them in the mail, and tomorrow is day 1 =) Hooray... Here we go =) | |
|
| Hot Rox... Posted: 6/13/2006 2:19:44 AM | | AM using ephedra/caffene/asprin stack right now using the right doses but only before I workout. SO basically its a 2 on, 1 off, 3 on regiman. Im not goiing crazy with it, which is the key. The first time i ever used pure ephedra i was 18 and was finished playing football becuase of an injury i was 235 at the time then 7 weeks later i was down to 199. I loved the stuff becuase of the energy it gave me. I also find when i take it i also dont get hungry. Keep us posted on the Hot ROx. | |
|
| Hot Rox... Posted: 6/13/2006 2:42:10 PM | my buddy did the Ephedra/Caffeine/asprin run, and well.. I noticed 0 difference in him on it... Then again, I guess eating crappy foods 4x a week and a case of pepsi a week didnt really help his cause =)
Rot Rox Update: didnt take them this morning as I was running late for work =P... I'm wakinup 20 minutes early tomorrow and goin to pop them bad boys down. If I was intelligent, I'd take ephedrine until it gets hot again, but I'm not, so.. =)
|
| Hot Rox Update #1 Posted: 6/15/2006 1:21:16 PM | Okay, heres my first update on Hot Rox.
I think I'll just give it a 1-10 rating on various categories... 10 being the best.
After 4 Doses:
1) Energy - 4/10 ..Only really noticed a slight difference, and it was very short term. 2) Side Effects - 0/10 None noticed. 3) "Fat Loss" - None recorded - but its only been 4 doses =)
There is one downfall, but its more my schedule than anything else. - You're supposed to take it on an empty stomach....... which is fine, BUT... if I stop eating at 7pm and wake up at 730am and take the pill at 8am before work, then I'm going well over 12hours without eating anything and it kind of gives me a sore stomach, but its nothing like OMG I'm going to puke, more mild discomfort..
As for ease of taking them, they're okay to take, but, I usually throw it in some jam to get it down, but they're not horse tranquillizers. =)
|
| Hot Rox Update #1 Posted: 6/15/2006 3:46:06 PM | ManOwar...Are you saying that you don't eat all day???
If so that is a NO NO. That will screw up your metabolism and give you low energy levels. You shouldn't take Hot Rox or any diet supplement on a empty stomach all day...just one hour before eating or two hours after eating. I have no doubt that you would have discomfort by doing this...
|
| Hot Rox Update #1 Posted: 6/15/2006 5:18:09 PM | lol no.... I eat, I just go a prolonged period of time without eating.
I dont eat after 7-8pm really, and then i snack on a granola bar at 9a [1hr after dose #1] and then lunch at 130p =) [dose #2 at 4pm]

| Hot Rox Update #2 Posted: 6/16/2006 11:46:28 AM | | After my morning dose and working, again.. little to no energy improvement. Should be interesting tomorrow, since it'll be my first day on it on a weekend, and I dont wake up at usual taking time =)...... lol | |
|
| Hot Rox Update #3 Posted: 6/17/2006 1:37:38 PM | Shocking news. Oh wait no its not... No energy improvement.. No fat loss, no anything.
This is only day 4, but if theres no change shortly, especially in the energy front, I'll just chalk this one up to another useless pill claiming garbage =)

| What replaces ephedra? Posted: 6/17/2006 7:21:04 PM | My 16-year-old daughter has had dysautonomia since she was 11. I have read that EPHEDRA CAN CAUSE DYSAUTONOMIA. Believe me, being thin is not worth what my daughter has gone through.
Dysautonomia is a malfunction of the autonomic nervous system. My daughter's main symptom is a fast heart rate so it is called Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia. My daughter's symptoms were fatigue, nausea, migraine headache, blurred vision, double vision, heat intolerance, and others. The doctors thought she just wanted to get out of school. One genius in the medical profession assured me that kids can sit still can make their heart rates go up to 140 beats per minute. That was just before he almost attacked me for demanding that he refer her to a neurologist. He got up and stormed out of the examining room never to return!
Other forms of dysautonomia are fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, postural orthostatic tachicardia syndrome, etc. It is a sydrome where the autonomic nervous system is out of whack, but it is very difficult to measure. There is an excellent article in the cardiology section of About.com by Dr. Rich about dysautonomia if anyone is interested.
Don't risk your health using ephedra when it can cause dysautonomia. It is not curable. It may or may not go away. It totally disrupts your life.

| What replaces ephedra? Posted: 6/17/2006 9:28:44 PM | Thats with misuse, if it happens at all.
Are you saying your daughter misused Ephedra(ine) and had this happen to her?...
|
| What replaces ephedra? Posted: 6/18/2006 6:04:45 AM | | No, my daughter had never used ephedra. She got dysautonomia when her autonomic nervous system ceased to function properly at age eleven for whatever reason. I am just saying that my research into dysautonomia has lead me to read that ephedra can cause dysautonomia. Knowing what a horrible disease dysautonomia is, I am simply warning those people who are using ephedra that they may damage their autonomic nervous system by using this substance. | |
|
| What replaces ephedra? Posted: 6/18/2006 9:52:10 AM | | you're aware at how much you'd need to use and abuse Ephedrine to have this happen, right?... YOu'd be borderline retarded to take that much of it. | |
