I like to rely on that person's actual personality first. If I feel that our personalities don't fit and find out later that we were apparently incompatible in star signs well, it doesn't really matter any more what the horoscope says. I want to see for myself that we aren't going to work out, whether or not I believe in star signs. | |

Yes, we can be quite like pitt bulls in some aspects. That being that when we get a hold on something we really want, or feel very stongly about, we are hard to convince that we should let go of it...sometimes to our detriment. Your point being that we are made out to be terrible people is much like the pitt bull reputation. Some pitt bulls are the sweetest puppy you ever hoped to have & others truly are a fright. I have to admit that the analogy is an apt description of Scorpios in general. The unevolved ones can be as frightful as Scorpios have been made out to be..

Here again I agree with you. It isn't what happens to us in Life; it's how we choose to respond to it that matters. What sign we were born with is (or can be) inconsequential in light of what we have done with the foreknowledge of what parts of ourselves may need a little work. I view the information as a learning tool to help me know where I need to concentrate more attention & effort in becoming a better person. Learning who I have a tendency to be, gives me the option to review that information, evaluate its current validity, & make decisions about how I might make good use of my strengths & work on improving my weaknesses. I don't live or die by astrology, but it has been a useful tool in my own personal growth to be a better person than I started out being.
And for the poster who wondered about the red headed women having a terrible temper>...being a true redhead as well I can give you this advice. It's like dog poop. Find out what makes a redhead mad & don't step in it when you find it. LoL | |

Posted: 8/31/2008 10:42:05 PM | All my life I have been around Scorpios. My brother was one. Most of the friends I have are Scorpios. I can think of five right off the bat. If there is a Scorpio in eye sight, we are going to talk. Probably become life long friends. Good life long friends.
I have dated only three. One was in my very early years. One lasted three years, he still calls from time to time and the current has lasted seven. I can give no advise. I can say best wishes and good luck.  | |

My experiences with the compatability areas have not been in line with astrology at all (but hey it makes good conversation right?) . My most "in tune" relationship recently has been with a Gemini who was so submissive that she could have been a Pisces. Ultimately yeah there was that bit of Jekyll and Hyde towards the end, and the fickle Gemini nature which meant that she had trouble keeping up with me a lot even though we shared many of the same interests. The dealbreaker was she preferred to retreat into a fantasy world whereas I wanted to make the real world my fantasy world :)
Pisceans - just about every one of these have been disasters. Even the sound of them is unppealing to me, flakey, living in a dream world and submissive to everything. I've had more Pisces girls literally close up shop, block and ignore me than any other sign. Best match? not so far, especially even when seeking them out.
Virgo - Probably the best run so far. My best friend is a Virgo despite dramatically and diametrically opposed sex views ROFL and my first long term gf was a Virgo where we connected on an intellectual level but preferred different countries in the end. Also been emailing with one who sounds VERY naughty, completely breaking stereotype. May have potential in the future *RAWR*
Capricorn - A bit of a mixed bag. Ive ended up friends with just about all that I've dated, very hard working , grounded but not much time for fun or intimacy.
Cancerians - Aiming for these ones so far.. they sound like they could be my type, but man that shell is a pain to crack though. I cracked one open so far only to find that many of the little things that you don't show up on paper ended up being very unappealing. In general I find that they do prefer living in their shells a bit too much and so they're virtually expecting perfection each time and are very hard to date. Still, I'm always up for a challenge and somehow I think the rewards may be worth it. Unlike the Pisceans though, Cancers sound like they can stick around and help a man through rough times. | |

I was amazed but told her I wouldn't date a woman who would make that sort of decision about me based on my birth day anyway and walked off.

I will make friends with those of the Gemini sign, if possible, but I notice I have a hard time getting along with many of them. In my opinion, one of Scorpio's greatest challenges is to learn to control themselves, rather than trying to control others...many times unconsciously. Learning to turn my controlling behavior towards myself instead of others was incredibly difficult...especially because I was never taught how. Sometimes I even relapse...but I realize it quickly now, and can turn my dysfunctional thoughts into rational responses. Thanks to the last man who left me, for making me realize my mistakes, and thanks to the many self help books I have read as a result of that unfortunate happening that I have learned how to control my intense emotional outbursts and unintentional desires to be in control. For those of you who hold interest in a Scorpio, I suggest making sure that that person knows who they are, and if they have a history of lost relationships...ask what they have done to better themselves. A Scorpio who's a bad egg can change into a golden one...but it takes a lot of self-commitment. | |
