Not all women carry their weight evenly distributed, for some women that extra 30 lbs goes straight to their a*sses... just like on most men that extra 30 doesn't go their chests it hits their guts.
The whole point in this entire abortion of a thread is that 90% of the women who say they are average are NOT anything close to what the average man considers average... most are about 60lbs away from that. | |

I think that as we grow older we look at ourselves in different ways. remember now that both men and woman are looking to put their best foot forward here on line and they want the opposite sex to become interested in them from what they write.
To me an average size wouold mean someone that is not "curvey" or thin, that maybe she has a very small love handle. I would say that someone who wears something around a 8 to 10 jean might be average, and 10 might be pushing it. You have to also take into consideration their height and their overall look. Someone with a large top might be able to carry more weight than someone who is not | |

Last time I was in Wal-mart-- I was the smallest built woman in the whole store. I live in Florida -- when was the last time you saw someone over 25 who looks like they do in the media? It's like panning for gold out there...
The main thing -- to me -- is this old axiom - which is very very true: Men marry women not expecting them to change, and they do. Women marry men expecting them to change, and they DON'T! So, my cousin was a spectacularly beautiful 5' tall bride who wore a size 0 dress -- and two years later, was a 200 lb. butterball. Her husband still looks the same. Me? I lose weight when I'm happy and active -- gain weight when unhappy; I smoke when I'm with smokers, don't smoke when I'm with non-smokers, same with alcohol -- but not drugs, I draw the line. And, I'd rather NOT smoke, at all - it's just that I'm allergic to it if I don't smoke, so can't go dance without a pack to provide a (lol) smokescreen!
Eh-- the bottom line is -- the physical appearance is subject to change -- but the spirit is not. So one should -- accent that -- go for a spirit that works with yours. I mean, are we going to divorse someone we putatively love because they have a) lost a breast b) lost an arm/leg c) lost erectile function? One should not be that callow. | |

Then I got back to work and read your words above, read your profile, and you say exactly how I've been feeling for quite a while, without even realizing it! If I posted a topic on this it would probably get deleted for redundancy, I'm not sure. I'm also starting to wonder who the hell reads these forums and personal stuff I might be writing that I don't even know about. Maybe I'm getting paranoid.
With regard to what "average" body type is, my guess would be not extremely overweight or underweight, but not necessary "athletic" or in shape, i.e., a reasonable weight to height proportion, but I'm no doctor or statistician. I say I'm thin because I'm small-boned but I'm probably more on the average side. Oh well, that's why I agree with you, pictures should be current whether posted on the site or exchanged privately, and even then pictures, IMO, never give a completely accurate depiction as meeting face-to-face.

Overweight is between 25&29 Obese is 30 to 39 this is much better in many ways. But I will say women who say a few pounds over usually are just fat. A 5'5" tall lady according to BMI should be between 114 to 140 pounds max. I get tired of hearing the sad story well we all gain as we get older. I am 66 and in good health and 170 pounds at 5'11" . If I can do it so can any one else. Ladies need to lose the weight and start exercising and eating healtyh foods.

Now, at 6'2" and 205 lbs I am a pretty big boy by most standards but if you want to put a set of calipers to me you'll find that I have very little body fat (15%) which means I am definately NOT overweight... I dont look fat and I dont look like a muscle head... I look fit and trim.

So, if the BMI can be sooooo wrong on me, I would think it could be equally wrong on a lot of women.
