No, last time I checked I didn't hear voices or see any invisible flying entities. Then again I'm not completely insane so I guess that would explain it. (How can people be this messed up?)
Umm me thinks he's a pompous ass and just a tad bit..smug. The topic of this post is "Do you believe in angels?" not "Please make sweeping generalizations about people"...and please note I believe in angels...as the number of accidents I've been in and survived when I shouldn't of(over the span of my 29 years). Also again please note I've never heard voices because of my said beliefs..only voices I've heard where my inner voice, my actual voice, the voices of people I 've met , have heard on the radio, tv, in movies..ooh and let's not forget 8 tracks,tapes, cd's(and any other records I may have forgot to mention.

What's wrong with simply saying "I don't believe in angels because I think that things just happen because they happen."
OT - Do I believe in angels? I don't really know. I do know that no one can say for certain either way so I see no use in debating. | |

Posted: 9/14/2006 9:53:55 AM | I don't know folks I kinda agree with cw's last statement. Maybe because I'm an Atheist and the angels subject has conotations of religous/spiritual beliefs. Those of us that don't live in a spiritual world go more for the logical aspects or what we see as reality. A lot of stuff is just luck. When it's your time it's your time. Close calls mean it just wasn't your time.
Also, people feel like he is insulting people by generalizing but the rebutal's are pointed directly at him. Is that hypocritical??? Or Not??? Just asking.
Now my first response to the subject was.....NO....... The question can be answered with a Yes, No, Not Sure, but everyone wants to expound on their answer. Sometimes it's what you want to hear and sometimes it isn't. 
Edit: I could say that anyone who only believes that god or angels put us here are very close minded and ignorant. However, I will have something to do with them as I believe everyone can make their own decision and believe in whatever they want. I wouldn't be that close minded.

However, I'm past that. I'm ready to welcome him into my heart. Well, no. But I'm done trying to explain why I don't like it when people bash my friends.
And i get your point about the angels thing. Because you actually explained why you feel that way, without resorting to name-calling. Well done.

Contained in the true gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the account of our existance in the "Pre-Existance where the good spirits voted to sustain the Lord and heavenly fathers glory and the plan for earth life and free agency as opposed to the rebelious spirts who followed Satins [he planned to make us all robots by robing us of free agency. He also wanted to take Heavenly fathers glory how rude and presumptious). WE foughjt and the 1/3 of the host of heaven who followed the devil were cast down to this earth, but only in spirit form as they lost the priviledge of gaining human bodies, and it is referred to in Genesis: "Let us cast down those who did not keep their first estate to tempt those who DID keep their first estate to see what they shall do and to prove them in all things." The gospel also explains how only "resurrected beings" can be angels. They have bodies and therefore can influence and bless or anailate men at Gods command. They have special qualities and can appear when they desire. There are numerous references to the saints of God and other good people being rescued by angels throughout history, in all the scriptures, including the old and new testament and the inhabitants of this contenant (the other sheep or lost tribes) in the Book of Mormon. Our own spirits feel warm or good when we pray fervently and when we feel the influence of the Holy Ghost directing us for good, "The spirits of ALL men go BACK to the FATHER who gave them life." (AFTER DEATH) tHIS IS quote IN THE new testament. How can we go back somewhere we have never been? WE are not alone!! Yes, exactly the reason my comment was in response to the general idea - not directed at one person. Both comments made by beth41 and cw35 are opposite sides of the spectrum but both seem to question the intelligence of someone who holds the opposite beliefs.

I was sitting here in the library, when someone, something said stand up go for a walk......at first i thought it might be because some librarian was going to be down a book isle all by herself and when i turned the corner she would flip her hair back and slowly remove her glasses while licking her top lip..........ok, that didnt happen.
But i did realize that there are music cds here, and ive just finished copying 7 albums to my computer, so im taking it as.....
