| Low Carb Diet Posted: 12/4/2007 5:12:23 PM | I'm not saying that anything is unhealthy, and there are lots of ways to "be healthy". Likely your diet is not very different than mine, and that is the fallacy about what low-carb means. I say it again, it means lowering "bad carbs".
You sound like a guy that stays away from refined sugar, and processed foods. that is what I am talking about as well.
As for Dr. Atkins, more rumors. Nothing conclusive was ever published. Lots of vegetarians die at his age as well. Too convenient an argument, and not backed by any evidence.
I also have better vitals since I adopted his diet: lower blood pressure, etc.
Once more time: his 335 page book does not condone living on rib eye steaks, it explains how people develop type 2 diabetes from eating too much sugar.
A recent Stanford study (30 years later) concluded that sugar is worse for you than fat (eg: a donut is worse than bacon).
Being obese is worse for your health than smoking.
BTW, I have taken more nutrition courses than most doctors | |
