You share the same problem as a few other here. You apparently don't have teeth.  I recommend a few more shots, this time smiling. We all look friendlier and happier if we're smiling. Isn't that the person you want to project, the happy friendly you?
Your text...hmmm...Don't like it at all. The first thing you do is cut yourself down and point out your flaws. BIG mistake. Don't ever give the opposite sex anyting negative to focus on about you. Give them only the positives and tell them the wonderful things about you.

I do have to admit, I have met and gone a some dates with people I have met here on POF. But it seems as if they are just telling me what they think they I want to hear ????

Your header is pessamistic, does not draw the reader in, instead turns you off. Oh...another whiner!
Then if I bother to read past the headline...your text confirms the pessamism
You read one profile, you read them all. They all contain the same buzz words: honest, caring, nice...
Seriously...are you trying to find a woman or scare them all away?
Then you continue, much to my horror, talking about how its difficult to get close to you and that you are immature. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
C'mon flair. You have to know that this is NOT the way to attract woman.
I would consider rewriting the whole thing.

SO many things to say...will dave listen? Hmmm seems to be more set in his ways than a 65 year old lady...dunno.
Well, here goes hotdealdave.
Photos - You against the brick wall...looks like a mug shot gone bad. You seem to be a handsome guy but hard to tell because you aren't smiling.
Photo of cat! Whatever
Photo of top of your face and your cat! Double Whatever.
I highly recommend a body shot because it appears like you may have a decent one. Forget the cat, seriously.
As for the stop signs and the following:
Please read on, to avoid an unnecessary date. If you are not OK with these facts about me then please don't write. I don't demand or even desire that my date share all this in common with me, only that they approach me on that first date with their eyes open, and not object to who I am.
These things that are not going to change about me anytime soon.
1.) I don't drink alcohol at all. I am allergic. I also don't use drugs or any smokable plants.
2.) I'm busy many evenings a week.
3.) I love my cat.
4.) I eat meat.
5.) I date one person at a time, and I have feelings.
6.) I have friends with many different backgrounds, political and religious views, and I won’t join others in hating any of them.
7.) I hold the door open for others when entering or exiting a building. unless you only have six months to live and can't take the time (literally) to find these things out in opening e-mail or phone call, don't put them here. Makes you appear closed off, and set in your ways BEYOND what is normal for a person your age.
I'd venture to say quite a turn off to many women.
If it were my profile, I'd remove everything from stop signs down.

Your header threw me for a loop. You are only GOOD but you want someone GREAT? Doesn't seem very fair. How about equaling them out?
Photos - You are a good looking guy and you have terrific photos. Would consider a body shot and maybe one of you doing something fun. I like the fact that you don't have your son's photo on there. I have very strong opinions about that. It's not safe.
Your text is well written, easy to follow and it shares a lot about you. Couple of typos though...use spell check.

Posted: 6/2/2006 1:18:52 PM | | Hey man! I can see some typos and grammatical errors here and there too, but the important part is that you express who you are and what you want. There are going to be a lot of people that will tell you that you should change the content, but I've learned that although you may attract more with cosmetic changes, you may not get what you really want. If I were you, I'd simply type it out in MS Word, run the spell/grammer check and say what you really feel. Don't give it all up, but elude that there is more to you than what is on the profile. So far, even with my goofy pics, I've been well received (had a 2 hour chat with a nice girl today). Good luck! | |

Posted: 6/2/2006 1:23:12 PM | Thanks for the feedback! I will listen, even if I don't agree with everything. Yes, the brick wall is kinda harsh looking. Unfortunately that is my best pic right now. I have others of me smiling but for some reason whenever I pose smiling I look like the village idiot. I definitely agree that I should get a new pic, preferably of me smiling but I don't have one now.
I'm afraid I have to disagree about my cat photos. I understand that it'll turn off some women, but am I their type anyway? I actually get a lot of initial contact from ladies just commenting on my cat. I dated a lady for almost 6 months who wrote me on another site just for that reason. Nonetheless I would agree I should have more pics featuring me than my cat.
Thanks for the compliment! I agree my body looks great with clothes on, but I still need to work on my abs a bit before I flaunt my shirtless form to the whole world. If I still haven't found love later this summer by then I should have a body pic up.
Well I've removed most of the stop signs, and altered the associated text a bit. I can see that I do appear unforgiving. Still, the point of that IS to turn off some women. Particularly the racist ones, the ones whose life centers around drinking, and the ones that would call me sexist when I hold the door for them. Can't I turn those women off without turning off the normal ones? | |

Text however is troubling. lower case, no punctuation or incorrect punctuation, misspelled words...c'mon...clean that up.

I don't understand you header. Perhaps there are others who don't either, and so maybe they won't stop to read more????
You are cute, take a nice photo, but you need more. No more with you holding the camera though...get someone else to take a nice shot, maybe outdoors to get better lighting.
I found your text to be annoying because of the grammar, spelling and punctuation errors.
Go back and edit your profile and there is a special place to list your interests, separated by a comma. Place them there and remove them from the 'about me' section.
