so far i have notices all mixed review about the caucasian people's attraction toward east indian people for dating, it would be intresting to know how POF community think about it

Posted: 1/8/2007 3:30:44 AM | Education is called for here folks because strictly speaking Indians are caucasian .They are part of this same "race" A Japanese can be snowny white and a Veitnamese can be brown but they are still Mongoloid and that is the case with Indians .They are from the same original region,part of the same group,of the same genetic history. You can say they are not European but they are caucasian. Same as middle easterners .Just take a look at say Greeks or Italians and it makes you wonder why they are not as blond as say Swedes or even me ?
I can easily tell an Italian girl from a dark haired English girl .They dress slightly different.Clothes fashion sense and hair/makeup is slightly different . Same thing with these-Indians have differences in fashion and culture .But hot is hot and I like.
I've been watching that Shilpa on CBB and what a stunner she is . I have seen hot Indian girls here ,anyway and I thought that Shilpa was pretty average next to them but what a classy girl .Tall as the guys but so willowy slim .Very posh or what! And she looks good first thing in the morning where the rest look dog rough.Dannielle looks lovely too.Clean and sweet and very attractive.Like I said on UK -CBB...good one Teddy Sheringham . | |

Or for me as an English/Welsh guy ?
So strictly speaking am I to assume that the further away one is the less Caucasian you are ?
"Strictly speaking " as it were - India is closer to that region than you or me .But that is not the basis of caucasian and note please-----the asian part of caucasian . The basis is historical migration and facial and genetic history . I would suggest that folks actually read up on this if possible .I really do not have the time or the inclination to post links or whatever but its pretty solid accepted evidence and history .I was amused by the title .
Caucasian means the peoples of Europe,Middle East ,India (particularly the north west ) and the Arab folks of N .Africa . Sorry to burst any bubbles but thats how it is . Indians, obviously are not European but they are caucasian and part of the Indo- European racial and language groups . Oh and since the subject is warm- India and Iran are also the original Aryan cultures of history. | |

Thank you for your kind words about East Indian men; I am one. To be sure, there is good and bad everywhere, and some Indian men are A-1 stinkers. However, behind the ways and attitudes of the positive ones, there's a particular reason. The Hindu culture puts tremendous emphasis on reverence for mother and motherhood. Even a secular, westernized one like myself who honestly doesn't care too much for his heritage reflects this.
It's been twelve years that Mom passed away, and it took me a full decade to get over her. Every woman I develop feelings for somehow reminds me of her in her qualities. And while my sexuality is strong, it comes out more in chivalry and goddess- worship rather than emphasizing the physical aspect of love.
Wanting to make Mom happy, wanting to nurture her....all this carries over to your girlfriend when you get one. When I was at college I used to send Mom flowers or cards overflowing with loving statements. Boasted to all my friends how adorable she was, showed her off.
Sex is a beautiful thing, and no-one wants to return to Victorian times. But our media in America needs to do more promotion of sex with tenderness and devotion. When I was a boy we had female role-models like National Velvet or Audrey Hepburn, and a teen-aged male wanted to give his lady flowers, to earn her sympathetic love. Today's generation seems so taken with "getting laid."
We need a quiet counter-revolution to bring back tenderness and devotion into relationships. Look at the plague of divorces, and the kids growing up without nurturing homes. I worshipped my mother. And if I ever meet the right lady and marry her, I will transfer the same devotion to my wife. | |

Ladies and gentleman, a standing ovation for us. People should respect good things about other's. Like in infrastructure, hygene, and others, we see America's and Europe's as a model... But about marriage, nobody can come even near to our culture and loyalty... India is a country of 1 billion and still look at success in marriage.
People who accuse Indian man should look at them first | |

that's because a lot of these women do not have many options to live independently and make the marriage work.

That is because it is a cultural aspect that their marriages are arranged. I have worked with many women from India, Pakistan etc. and none of them are happy in their marriages and pretty much live separate lives. Will they get divorced? No, because it is against their culture and shunned by family. So they might stay married, but they live unhappily. I prefer the choice we have in our culture. We either stay and remain unhappy or we divorce. | |

I guess it just comes down to personal preference. I tend to like darker skin, and long dark hair. That just happens to be many Latinas, Asians, Native Americans, Indians and so on. | |
