| EYE CANDY Posted: 5/3/2005 8:19:02 AM | You people must chill. Maybe he didn't use the right term for some of our more liberated fish here but...
I think this guy is totally right on. If you are going to have a get together, why not make sure there are plenty of attractive people of both sexes so it isn't a sausage fest.
Because if the numbers at the get together are anything like the numbers on this site, I don't think the guy wants to c*ck jockey all night for the one or two available women's attention. I can to a bar for that and leave much of the rhetoric at home.

| EYE CANDY Posted: 5/22/2005 8:43:35 AM | i would get her outta that tiny little dress and get her something a tad more comfortable....say a hot tub | |
|
| EYE CANDY Posted: 7/12/2005 3:12:54 PM | I wouldn't say that it's something to be offended by. It all depends 1) on the person who says it, and 2) the context in which it was said.
It's too bad that whoever did say it doesn't have the balls to stand infront of you and just say it as it is.
Calling someone "eye candy" isn't going to win them over........

| EYE CANDY Posted: 7/12/2005 4:05:27 PM | | If I am eye candy to some man, it will light up my face! Knowing that I'm special in a man's eyes, even if it is for 10 seconds of peeping at my profile, it makes my day nicer. It's sweet. A | |

OK this guy obviously doesn't know how the whole situation went down....... It was me that said it. There was a girl named JOOLZ that was also involved. Here is how it went down since some people don't know and can't take the time to read the first page with "JOOLZ'" opening comment on it!
We were trying to arrange a POF party for the burlington-oakville area. I made a comment saying, " hopefully there is some eye candy there and it's not just a sausagefest." It was never directed at anyone inparticular as "JOOLZ" now knows. It wasn't meant as a degrading remark towards the ladies at all. Actually I think most of the ladies didnt mind it at all from what I have read in the thread as of 07-27-05.
And as far as having the balls to say it in front of her.....it's not worth the trip. I've never known anyone male or female to take offence to this comment at all......well now i do you could say....
hope this clarifies for the simpletons that don't know how this all started....

| EYE CANDY Posted: 7/27/2005 2:06:45 PM | I usually take offense to it.
I once had a man ask me, when I worked as a goldsmith, if the man that fixes the jewellery was around. I looked at him and nicely replied that I was the man that repairs the jewellery. His response: "You're much too beautiful to know how to do this."
Yeah ok. Sometimes I wonder if they actually use the brain they were born with.
Although, I would never purposely gain weight and put my health at risk.
|
| EYE CANDY Posted: 7/27/2005 2:21:23 PM | what the heck does that have to do with anything.......... ladies and gentlemen we have another lady that has taken offence to having "eye candy" used to describe someone pleasing to the eye. For the record its a unisex word. | |
|
| EYE CANDY Posted: 7/27/2005 5:39:54 PM | | Okay, I take it back. Canadian men aren't gay, they're just sick of women who seek out ways to be insulted. | |

You don't find it tiresome to hear it everyday? To have people not take you seriously?
It bothers me to no end! I could say something very valid, and it goes unheard. Someone else will say the same thing and wow they are the smartest person there is, and know what they are talking about. If that's how you like to be treated, just someone without a brain.
|
| EYE CANDY Posted: 7/27/2005 6:24:19 PM | | If you have to ask yourself whether you're offended or not, you aren't. | |
|
| EYE CANDY Posted: 7/27/2005 6:31:27 PM | | it might get tiresome if i heard it every day.....but i dont and take it as a good thing when i am called that.....i take it as someone saying i good looking.....no more or less than that | |
|
| EYE CANDY Posted: 7/27/2005 6:50:31 PM | gurl that aint nothing to be offended by...that means your good to look at....I call all the hot men eye candy....so take it as a compliment.... | |
|
| EYE CANDY Posted: 7/27/2005 7:51:25 PM | | You need to understand that in most cases people judge you on the way you look. If someone has mentioned that you are eye candy that means that they think you are a good looking girl. In a lot of cases people say that to get your attention because they want to get to know you better. Don't be so quick to jump on the feminist wagon and go on the defensive. Enjoy the compliment, you could be missing out on a lot of great opportunities. | |
